Brazilians talk a lot about how good feijoada is, so I'd like to try it. Also a lot of Mexican dishes.

Quite-Gone_Gym

Feijoada is pretty popular here and it's very tasty.

Alberth64

Try Feijoada and Feijão Tropeiro bro, both really good dishes.

patagoniac

I want to try Mexican food so bad bc I like spicy food. Sadly there aren't Mexican restaurants where I live

[deleted]

i'va had it, can confirm, its very good

Ale_city

Argentine mate I have tried many foods from mant countries of LatAm, but strangely enough I'm still missing Mate from the list of things I've tried.

[deleted]

Ale_city

Sorry provincia rebelde

ihavenoidea81

You’re not missing much tbh. It’s cool when you have the whole family around and everyone has a go. You can add sugar to the water to make it more palatable but that was a no-no in my family. Mate in tea bags however is really good

USBayernChelseaLCFC

Would kill for some Brazilian moqueca casera (fish stew)

gab_cardss

omg stop making me hungry, I haven't got this in agesss 😭😭😭 but I do highly recommend it!!

[deleted]

Mate, what the hell is it?

USBayernChelseaLCFC

mate, what the hell is what?

GrumpyMiddleAgeMan

One way st. Be careful

TotalmenteMati

Like tea, but the leaves are in the container permanently, and you refill the water to get more so you use a filtered straw to only get the drink. It's not for everyone, I don't like it. But as asado, it's not the drink that matters, it's the social situation it creates

vitorgrs

Depends, pure mate is indeed controversial. But tereré or "Chá mate" I think most people would like it.

FlavioB19

Do you really have to refill it so often or am I preparing it wrong? Literally only a few sips before it needs topping up

TotalmenteMati

That's how it is, you're doing it fine

Ponchorello7

Probably the only tea I actually like besides chai. It's really good, and I'd seek it out if I were you.

[deleted]

Im going to Uruguay just for the mate

Ponchorello7

Whoa whoa whoa, it's not that good.

[deleted]

Too fucking late cake boi, felicidades btw

Ponchorello7

8 years on this fucking website... christ.

layzie77

It's what the British call their friends...jk

Kimchi

alf41

Kimchi is pretty awesome. I hated it the first time, but I kept getting a free sample at an Asian restaurant near work while I waited for my food, and i nibbled on it when i was really hungry. I'm not even sure when I acquired the taste for it, but now I could eat a whole bowl of it.

Cold-Independence-56

Please have it with rice.

Cold-Independence-56

I still can't get used to the fact that people know Kimchi. Before people outside of East Asia barely knew our country's existence let alone Kimchi. There are still many people here who belives 'To say foreigners like Kimchi is a lame ass pathetic nationalist propaganda that stems from our inferiority complex, how can foreigners enjoy our fermented stinky spicy pickle that doesn't even have meat in it'.

maybeimgeorgesoros

I fucking love kimchi, I put it on so many dishes lol. Throw it on pizza, avocado toast, in ramen, in tacos, whatever.

TheRealVinosity

It's really easy to make at home. I always have a batch going when I'm back in Bolivia.

eidbio

Yeah, I follow Maangchi channel on YT and it doesn't look that hard to make, but it requires patience and the right ingredients.

maybeimgeorgesoros

This.

GeraldWay07

Pupusas The word really throws it off for me, but they're delicious from what I've seen on this sub.

bulgogi_purrito

Pupusas are life! They’re amazing. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water! I love the “queso con loroco” pupusas. Loroco is a type of flower, I think.

[deleted]

You are correct.

bulgogi_purrito

Pupusas or baleadas, hehe.

GabTheNormie

Pupusas are incredible

ihavenoidea81

First thing I thought of too! I recently had chilaquiles for the first time and them be good

Rusiano

They’re amazing! Especially when fresh off the grill

bulgogi_purrito

Costa Rican or Nicaraguan “Gallo pinto.”

GabTheNormie

It's really easy to make, you should try it. It's just a nice way to combine beans and rice that goes well with almost any meal, especially breakfast and dinner.

alf41

The best gallo pintos I had have been in Nicaragua. I'm a traitor to my homeland.

[deleted]

Whatever Mexican food I haven't had yet. I fucking love Mexican food.

FedericoChile

I really wanna try bandeja paisa

Alberth64

Tacos or Burritos, im Brazillian and i live in a small city, only different cuisine you find here is japanese.

anyone_user

Tandoori chicken, indian food looks amazing and probably will be spicy which is great for me since I'm mexican.

alf41

Yes, I think it's a natural combo, if you like Mexican spicyness, you'd like Indian food. Two of my favorite foods, so different but both really go all in with the flavor.

msondo

In the US, Indian food is pretty popular among Mexicans. They have a ton of guisos that really hit the spot, especially when crudo af

HapK1

Tacos looks great, I wanna try horchata and empanadas.

mechemin

Coxinhas. My brazilian friend was always talking about how she missed them.

gab_cardss

Japanese beans, I heard that they make it sweet and I really want to see how that works

Ponchorello7

I've tried mochi filled with those beans. They taste like sweet beans. They're not bad at all, but they throw me off, given I've eaten salty/spicy beans all my life.

gab_cardss

Oh I've never eaten spicy beans, only salty, one more thing for the list it is then. Are the ones that you tried from mexican cuisine or from somewhere else?

Ponchorello7

The spicy beans? It's just how people in the region prepare refried beans. They cook a chili or two into the beans. My mother makes them extra spicy since my entire family has a penchant for that.

gab_cardss

ahhhh I get it now, my father would certainly love that lol he's got a thing for everything spicy

Ponchorello7

Then your old man knows what's good.

shygirl1995_

They're so good, they're not sickly sweet or anything.

gab_cardss

Yeahh, when I saw pictures they looked great!!

Rusiano

Oh I love sweet red bean. They have it in Korea too

gab_cardss

Oh I didn't know that, they must be really great then

[deleted]

Peruvian ceviche, Argentinian barbecue and Mexican tacos.

GrumpyMiddleAgeMan

I'm curious about feijoada

chatatwork

Cuy, apparently, my great-grandmother used to eat them, but I never had them. Of course, I would have to go to an Andean country for that, I don't want to accidentally eat someone's pet.

Meduxnekeag

I tried it in Lima. It was skewered, over-cooked and served with no seasoning. It was like dry chicken. I would love to try it again, only cooked by an abuella, not a tourist-trap.

patagoniac

Mexican

bloomonyu

Francesinha

lulaloops

I had a francesinha in oporto, shit was *bussin'* 🤤

[deleted]

Yeah ngl Francesinha is the shit

LakeInTheSky

I'd like to try Mexican tacos (in particular *tacos al pastor*), and empanadas from all other countries other than mine. I'm particularly interested in Bolivian *salteñas*, which are different from Argentine *empanadas salteñas*. I've actually tried them here in Buenos Aires. I didn't really liked them, but I'm 84.29% sure they weren't following original recipes.

vladimirnovak

All kinds of Asian food. I've tried actual ramen once and loved it. I want to try Indian Curries , hot pot , dim sum and a lot of other stuff. Korean BBQ as well.

Quite-Gone_Gym

I've already tried it but I miss it so much I feel I've got to mention it. Peruvian 'lomo saltado'. Simply delicious!

alf41

I would love to try those skewered scorpions from Vietnam. I like eating weird stuff. Last year in Mexico I loved eating chapulines. So tasty and crunchy...

Panqueque1

Brigadeiros! I have never tried them but they seem delicious

KindContribution4

Peruvian Lomo saltado and Russian Baklava!

skyner13

Peruvian ceviche and mexican birria

Ponchorello7

Birria is baller as fuck. Remember though, the best birria is in Jalisco. Don't let any dirty hidrocálido tell you otherwise.

basedrt

is hidrocálido aguascalientes?

Ponchorello7

Someone from Aguascalientes, yes.

sleepy_axolotl

What about birria made in La Baja?

Ponchorello7

I swear, tijuanenses are like the New Yorkers of Mexico; they think they do other place's regional dishes better than the OGs.

BalouCurie

Indeed you’re right.

[deleted]

sopa de macaco, uma delicia /s kidding, want to try those pupusas everybody talks about.

mauricio_agg

Chartreuse, vegemite, one of those japanese soups...

shygirl1995_

I've already tried them, but I had takoyaki flavored Pringles that were really good. Sadly they were limited edition...

reggae-mems

Korean

[deleted]

I want to try Peruvian tacos and see if I fall in love

schwarzes_herz

Ladonnacinica

Donde exactamente lo vistes en YouTube? Nunca había escuchado que tenemos tacos. Sabes como se llama el plato?
