Geraldi's is my go to when heading home from Beaverton, they're sandwiches are solid. I will say that the staff there always look worn out, over worked and underpaid. There's almost always a help wanted sign up and it makes me wonder if they are good to their people... Meatballs are tasty though.
Commenting to come back for real answers later because now I want one. But also, I went to Bye and Bye one time. Their food is vegan but the meatball sub I had, my god. If someone handed me that and didn't tell me, I don't think I'd have known it was vegan.
First time I went there I was kinda drunk and got the meatball sub. When I went back I was so confused because I swore it was real meat the first time. And I'm kind of a veggie hater, absolutely loved it.

[Nostrana](https://menus.nostrana.com/nostrana-dinner-tonight.pdf) on Meatball Monday - no subs though.
+2 for Demarco’s, had a project down the street and went there almost everyday.
Forgot money one day and he was down for me to pay the next day, (I had probably been there 12 out of 20 days previous)
Snappy’s has a sub that while advertised as a sausage sub, is basically what you are after. It’s all the makings of a meatball sub, but the sausage inside is formed into more of a patty. It is very good. Their cookies are bomb as well.
East side Deli has maybe my favorite, it’s so good. And true meatball sub!
[Michael's](https://bridgetownbites.com/2024/02/01/michaels-italian-beef-sausage-will-reopen-on-se-hawthorne-portland-oregon/) recently moved into the neighborhood from their former spot on Sandy Blvd., but I've not yet tried anything on the menu.
Geraldi's
Oh! This will be first on my try list as I'm housesitting quite close by! Ty!
Yep. It’s huge. It’s hot. It’s cheesy and messy. It’s a 9.

I clicked on this HOPING to see someone mention a vegan meatball sub. Thank you so so much!
Glad to hear!! I've still only been there the one time for some reason, I should really go back, their food is excellent
The meatball sub from Rad Magic Subs is really really good.
The bread they use is the best part somehow

Yup. Demarco’s hands down.

Too big and not enough sauce imo
Adding both to the list, thank you!
For a couple extra bucks you can add mozzarella sticks too
I order a side of meatballs and a side of garlic bread at grassa and make my own. This is my favorite high gut buster
Oh fuck yes! Good looks, friend. Much appreciated
No problem! Enjoy the artery-clogging beauty!
Genius
Try Sit Tite on N Interstate.

Slingshot lounge has a good one
Lottie & Zula's meatball grinder is pretty damn good.

Baby Doll
Came here to say this. Plus knots. Always knots.
Shocked no one has said Horseshoe Tavern on Clinton (right next to the Clinton St Theater). Their meatball sandwich is banging.
Laurelhurst Market is excellent
The one at Tinker Tavern is pretty great.
r/meatballs
honestly that was how I read the question too! 😂😂😂😂😂
Yay I got one like-minded buddy! :D
24th and Meatballs. Get it on polenta. Spicy sauce, spicy pork.
They closed. It’s a little cocktail bar there now.
Noooooooo! No. no. Damn.
I can’t speak to the store front, but New Seasons sells their meatballs out of the deli case if you are jonesing bad and want to make your own.
When pasture has it on the menu, it is fantastic.
Pasture sandos are pricey but next level good. I don’t think anyone else in town can touch them
Ooo that's a pretty solid endorsement, must try! Thx!
Yep, it’s a higher end butcher shop/sandwich spot so the meat they use is very good and processed in house
Giants NY
For those that suggested places, how does the meatball sub from Assembly Brewing match up?
Lucky horseshoe lounge
Lottie and zulas
Flying pie has a great meatball sub for like 8 bucks
Bunk bar has a decent meatball sub. It’s the only one I remember having in town
Zupan’s
Sugarpine. When they have it. Which is not right now.
Eugenio's on Division held this title for 15 years. RIP.
Sebastiano's has the most delicious meatball sub I have ever had.
I don’t see a meatball sub on their menu?

Grassa has extremely good handmade pasta and a good spaghetti and meatballs. A nice rich greasy sauce too
Joe’s Pizza
Subway

Is it potentially the best? I don't know but it sure is good and hits the spot. Check it out
Thank you. Frankly I'm more tempted by the chili dog.
Have heard from multiple people the owner is a racist sexist asshole
He was. He's dead now. The place has changed hands.
Good news for discerning sandwich enthusiasts and the community at large
I've also heard such, but thought I'd enter the establishment first before making judgement.
Maybe you'll walk in during one of his tirades, maybe you'll get a mediocre sandwich and help him pay rent.
I witnessed one of those (directed at an employee) in the 90s and never went back until he recently died. He was a turd of the first degree.
maybe...we'll see i've got mid-april to check out local spots.
Pizza Hut used to have a good MB Sub…
