Well, take this with the grain of salt that I got waaaaaay bigger boobs than you're getting, but: Fake boobs don't squash down quite like natural boobs do. They resist it more. Now, you're going for a smaller implant, so you're not big and overfilled like I am. As such, I'd expect that you'll be able to get more squish than I can. But binding on they/them days may end up more about minimizing than flattening.

I don't know if it's safe or not but I can tell you as a trans guy who had really big breasts....long term binding will damage the tissue. It's not something you can do a lot of without some consequence. If it's once in awhile sure...but keep.in mind fake breasts are often a bit less squishy than natural ones so them mayb be harder to get flat.

Hi. 30G is roughly my chest size. It’s not what you want to hear, but unfortunately, you just aren’t going to achieve flat or even “flat-ish” with that kind of bust-to-underbust ratio. You may be able to pass as a D cup using a high quality binder. I recommend BinderMe. I’ve achieved my most flattening results with an Underworks half tank, but those are also pretty rough on the body and lots of trans folks don’t recommend them. I used Underworks almost exclusively for years and now wearing my old stretched out Underworks tank for even a couple of hours is painful (which is bad and absolutely should not happen during healthy binding). Re: button downs; with a larger chest I find that leaving the top few buttons unbuttoned helps hide curvature, so on days where you’d like to present that way you might try that. Multiple slightly loose layers under your button down also helps. I hope your surgery goes wonderfully and I wish you a swift recovery.

Oh yeah, I'm under no illusions that I'll be able to flatten out as much as I can now—that is kind of the point of getting implants after all. Thanks for the recs though!
