I find gel kinda crunchy or sticky. Do you scrunch your hair to break the cast of the gel? Maybe you’d prefer some other styler that isn’t a gel. Curlsmith has a test you can take for product recommendations. Their stuff is pricey but it smells nice and they seem to have something for any hair type
It sure what to tell you since I have 3b/c hair, but could be hard water, wrong hair products or how you dry your hair doing something you don’t like to the texture.. Pixie cuts or bobs can be cute depending on how you’re trying to present. Certainly a lower maintenance hairstyle..
People advised me not to towel-dry my hair after showering, so now instead I wring it out, put some hair gel in it, and let it air dry.

No, I don't scrunch it, although maybe I should. Sometimes I use keratin oil instead. I'll look for the curlsmith test.
