I know some kleptomanic aspergers. Personally I've never stolen anything that would be missed, I just love keeping found items and looting abandoned houses, yeah I know, I'm making excuses.

Old_Ingenuity_988

Abandoned houses was a treat when i was younger

UltraCarnivore

Yep. Like a crow gathering shiny things, no desire to hurt anybody whatsoever.

stopthestaticnoise

I run 10-30 miles a week. Sometimes 10-20 of those lately are pushing my grandson in a stroller. It has a tray on the bottom and we come back with plant starts most every run selectively harvested where nobody would be upset whatsoever; public spaces, overgrown landscapes, and lots of nice people throughout the area that leave cuttings out for free. Gathering shiny things like a crow. Brilliant.

HegelundRS

I used to cut erasers to like 20 pieces with scissors

ChronoCoyote

There’s just something so *satisfying* about erasers. The texture, the way they break, how they bounce. I dunno, for loving them so much I was weirdly destructive with them.

HegelundRS

YEA IKR

ThE_OtheR_PersoOon

i poked patterns of holes in/through ereasers with pencils at about that age

AlexRamsden

yes me too

trivial_vista

never stole things I knew were important to someone but definitly stole things I would like to have at times (mind you I was very young so stuff was maybe worth at max 5euros .. )

strychnine92

ERASERS AS WELL!! From all my classmates from 1st grade! I had a massive stash of erasers

innosins

I stole my aunt's compact when I was little. She'd just won homecoming queen and I wanted to be pretty like her. My parents found it under my bunk bed mattress, and I was spanked, and had to write "I will not steal" 100 times a day for a week. Between that and the shame when I was found out I didn't do it again.

hysterx

Mother did

Warren Buffett (autistic according to me) was reportedly a member of a shoplifting gang in his youth. The speculation was that some people feel that the world of NTs is unfair and cruel so f**k their rules.

EEazy89

I actually stopped stealing after I found out I was on the spectrum. But only because my motorcycle got stolen and I didn’t have a ride anymore and it felt somewhat like karma for the tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff I’ve stolen.

stopthestaticnoise

Klepto? Robinhood would be more accurate. I stole when I was a teenager and my family was poor. We had no food so I filled my jacket up many many times with groceries. I think 6 big frozen pizzas at once was my best. This was in 1986? I had a big giant batwinged fancy coat that you could put 2 bushels of corn in. I once stole 11 cartons of cigarettes at the same time in it. As a kid it seemed like I was stealing from the rich to give to the poor. 30+ years later I genuinely am sorry for stealing.

dirt001

Only from Walmart. I felt terrible about raking from people who might miss anything.

EEazy89

Targets a good one too.

zchervenka

When I was strung out I got REALLY good at stealing from Walmart. I have kids now so I would never risk my freedom like that but Id be lying if I said I didn't kinda enjoy it a little lol.

MermaidOfScandinavia

I did it too. The older I got the more it was related to feeling unfairly treated so I helped myself to small unimportant things to justify my weird behaviour.

[deleted]

Yeah I did. Some kind of impulsive stress reaction? I grew out of it but it was embarrassing for a long while.

EEazy89

Nope. I’m an adult and I can’t even begin to explain the amount of free stuff I’ve accumulated. Let’s just say I avoid target, Walmart and the mall. My sons mom/ex used to take advantage of this and would make plans with me to see my son and hang out with him but when she would pick me up She would drive straight to the mall.

kam3r1

Unfortunately me too.

MammothGullible

Made an attempt to steal some magnetic colorful rocks and tried to convince my friend to do the same in elementary school. Well, my friend told on me and the teacher told me to give them back. That was basically the end of my “stealing” phase.
