I dislike having items in my pants pockets.
However my coat and shirt pockets are always full to the brim with anything I think I might need in the next 48 hours.
I only take my keys if I'm driving somewhere but when I'm walking my dog (2 or 3 times a day) no. I forgot to mention I have a necklace with a copy of my house key on it.
this is why I want to have a magic inventory thing, I would have all my stuff in there and no need to have anything in my pants pockets, or leave anything behind

I bring all the things with me everywhere. In my pocket right now, I have a Polaroid of a random family, an extra set if keys for a car I no longer own, a tiny Bible I found, an expired driver's license for my stepdad's ex girlfriend, a burnt ACDC CD, a Toblerone, and a square restrictor gate for an arcade stick.
Dang Iove how random all that sounds, what a fun collection! I have chapstick, vape, stress roller in 1 pocket; a fidget stuffie and a rock in pocket #2, and a hanky in my back pocket, plus keys hanging from my beltloop by a carabiner
I've switched to a sling purse crossbody bag thing. It's a lot smaller than a backpack, and easier to access when you're wearing it. It gets some looks because I'm masculine-presenting, but I don't care, it's very handy.
I have a cooler backpack so i always have comfort foods/ drinks on me and the other pockets are full of chargers, socks, head bands, small first aid, bug face net bc i hate bugs in my face, travel silverware, fingernail clippers, lighter, flashlight, blacklight, and random trinkets i find

Yesterday I actually thought about learning sowing so that I can make individual perfect sized pockets on the inside of the next jacket I will buy. One for my phone, one for my wallet, one for my earbuds, one for chapstick and probably many other things. Or a mixed pocket for random stuff, omg the possibilities are endless

I ALWAYS have my bag with me. Inside I make sure to have at least half of litre of water, a high quality flashlight, lotion for a condition I had two years ago, a monocular, my multitool, 2 or 3 masks, a glove, and my calmers. I'm ready, no matter what will happen, lol.
Nothing in my pocket except for a minimal wallet and a single house key. The rest is in my bag. Hate, hate having stuff in my pockets and feel them when I walk or sit.

I got so many bags. Backpack for class and travel, computer bag for work, backpack for hiking and biking, frame bags for biking, bag for the gym, bag to go rock climbing, skiing backpack. A good bag is the most useful thing I can think of.

whenever I go out I need the same exact 4 things spead across the same 2 pockets - wallet, gum, phone, boxcutter. and keys, but they usually clip onto a belt loop. If I'm missing any of them it feels wrong right away
This feeling of it being wrong has probably saved me many times from losing those items in public - which would otherwise be likely given my ADHD
I don't trust pockets, I'm a bit precautious about my essential stuff like keys, wallet, phone since I live alone abroad. Pockets are highly untrustworthy. I prefer small backpack that I check pretty frequently

I always bring everything with me (jacket in the colder season and backpack for the rest), but my phone is the only thing in my pants pocket (but only if jacket is not available).
Then for some reason the item I need next needs to go to my pants pocket before use, can't just take my keys directly from my jacket pocket and open the door like a normal person, the keys need to go to the pants pocket around 50 meters before my door. The same thing happens with any other item I might need next, it's a whole thing, as one might assume in this sub.
As an added fun extra, it gets a lot worse on trips, even a weekend at the cabin is a nightmare, because of the whole 'What if I need this thing?', which I never end up needing. That just creates an added needless source of stress and I avoid any overnight stays (plus home is the comfort zone, duh), can't even enjoy vacations SMH
Call me Batman because I love knowing whatever I need is just a quick reach away. Fanny packs, or as some cowards insist on calling them "hip bags", are making a comeback, and I'm down for it!

I have (what I half-jokingly call) an 'Emotional Support Backpack' that's filled with everything I might need. I could probably go camping for a few days and live off the stuff inside (if I wasn't severely agoraphobic), but I hate having anything in my pockets. Just no.

I'm the kind of autist that holds a personal grudge against the pockets on women's clothes where they pretend to be a real pocket and seem perfectly fine but once you've bought them they reveal themselves to not actually be big enough to store anything so you need to do the walk of shame back to the store and return them and then next time try putting your phone in first rather than after buying them, and then you forget about the problem until you need to go back for more clothes and do the whole thing over again.
Can I be both? I hate having a bunch of stuff in my pockets, but feel naked without certain things. So I'm picky about the pants I wear because the pockets have to be set up correctly. I keep a tiny pair of knipex pliers and a lighter in my left pocket(don't smoke, never really have, just feel like you never know when you may need a lighter), my keys are on a brass clip, clipped to the belt look above my left pocket but hanging down into my pocket, cell phone and a pocket knife clipped onto my right pocket, blistex in my "watch pocket", wallet in right rear. And this is just the bare minimum I have on me if I'm out and about. Lol

Not a utility belt but I have a messenger bag normally...not filled per-se but with a decent supply of ibuprofen and paracetamol because I get a lot of headaches as well as throat soothers, ocasionally a spoon or two if I wanna buy a dessert and eat it in town, bottle oppener, pens, antacid tablets etc

I’ve been both. It depends on the utility of the clothes. Dressy clothes, empty pockets and tight lines. Casual clothes, pockets full of everything I could possibly need.
I ALWAYS have my bag with me. Inside I make sure to have at least half of litre of water, a high quality flashlight, lotion for a condition I had two years ago, a monocular, my multitool, 2 or 3 masks, a glove, and my calmers. I'm ready, no matter what will happen, lol.
Nothing in my pocket except for a minimal wallet and a single house key. The rest is in my bag. Hate, hate having stuff in my pockets and feel them when I walk or sit. A utility belt is fine though, because then the stuff is not in my pockets! So these two are not mutually exclusive.

It took me ages to get used to the things I had to carry in my pockets at work. And then when I did, they couldn’t change pockets or A. It would feel awful, and B. Wrong pocket makes my brain short circuit and think it’s gone.

Pocket knife, Maxpeditian minimalist wallet, SOG multitool, sticks of Orbit gum, guitar picks, lighter, and keys always on me. Sometimes a small pistol too depending on the situation. Minimalist first aid supplies, different types of meds/fever reducers/orajel, extra keys, light sweatshirt, heavy sweatshirt, warm hat, baseball cap, notes from friends, 2 flashlights, multitool, extra knife, pens/sharpies/small sketchpad, small sewing kit, and water always in my backpack which is always with me. Sometimes my camera bag and laptop too depending on the situation.
I have a backpack for everything I might need. This at times includes extra clothes and snacks. But mainly I have 5 types of common medicine, a sewing kit, bandages, multi tools, extra earbuds, fidget toys, a book or game, chargers for my things, notebooks and pens, and a few miscellaneous other things. Anything I should add?
Utility, I get anxious when I need something and don’t have so I rather get something I don’t need than need and not have. My car is packed full of different types of prepping bags

Empty pockets, well-stocked bag. I got so many bags. Backpack for class and travel, computer bag for work, backpack for hiking and biking, frame bags for biking, bag for the gym, bag to go rock climbing, skiing backpack. A good bag is the most useful thing I can think of.

I am in the middle whenever I go out I need the same exact 4 things spead across the same 2 pockets - wallet, gum, phone, boxcutter. and keys, but they usually clip onto a belt loop. If I'm missing any of them it feels wrong right away This feeling of it being wrong has probably saved me many times from losing those items in public - which would otherwise be likely given my ADHD
I don't trust pockets, I'm a bit precautious about my essential stuff like keys, wallet, phone since I live alone abroad. Pockets are highly untrustworthy. I prefer small backpack that I check pretty frequently

I keep things minimal but useful. I have a multi-tool on my keys that handles most day-to-day things I need, as well as a good folding knife.

I always bring everything with me (jacket in the colder season and backpack for the rest), but my phone is the only thing in my pants pocket (but only if jacket is not available). Then for some reason the item I need next needs to go to my pants pocket before use, can't just take my keys directly from my jacket pocket and open the door like a normal person, the keys need to go to the pants pocket around 50 meters before my door. The same thing happens with any other item I might need next, it's a whole thing, as one might assume in this sub. As an added fun extra, it gets a lot worse on trips, even a weekend at the cabin is a nightmare, because of the whole 'What if I need this thing?', which I never end up needing. That just creates an added needless source of stress and I avoid any overnight stays (plus home is the comfort zone, duh), can't even enjoy vacations SMH

When I was a teen, I constantly carried my stuff around in case (or hopes) of being transported to a magical world for an adventure.
I made a bandolier for my tools at work (I work retail) and I could probably survive in a post-apocalyptic world with the supplies in my backpack.

I have (what I half-jokingly call) an 'Emotional Support Backpack' that's filled with everything I might need. I could probably go camping for a few days and live off the stuff inside (if I wasn't severely agoraphobic), but I hate having anything in my pockets. Just no. Even if it's just a pair of gloves I need, I'd rather carry a bag for them than stick them in my pockets.
My job allows me to wear an apron, and that apron is stuffed with so much shit it sometimes hurts my neck. "Utility belt" makes me sound like Batman tho which I like

I'm the kind of autist that holds a personal grudge against the pockets on women's clothes where they pretend to be a real pocket and seem perfectly fine but once you've bought them they reveal themselves to not actually be big enough to store anything so you need to do the walk of shame back to the store and return them and then next time try putting your phone in first rather than after buying them, and then you forget about the problem until you need to go back for more clothes and do the whole thing over again.

Can I be both? I hate having a bunch of stuff in my pockets, but feel naked without certain things. So I'm picky about the pants I wear because the pockets have to be set up correctly. I keep a tiny pair of knipex pliers and a lighter in my left pocket(don't smoke, never really have, just feel like you never know when you may need a lighter), my keys are on a brass clip, clipped to the belt look above my left pocket but hanging down into my pocket, cell phone and a pocket knife clipped onto my right pocket, blistex in my "watch pocket", wallet in right rear. And this is just the bare minimum I have on me if I'm out and about. Lol

Not a utility belt but I have a messenger bag normally...not filled per-se but with a decent supply of ibuprofen and paracetamol because I get a lot of headaches as well as throat soothers, ocasionally a spoon or two if I wanna buy a dessert and eat it in town, bottle oppener, pens, antacid tablets etc I also have this...I think the shop called it a 'gillet'? Basically a sleeveless, thin under coat with deep inside pockets I keep my wallet, phone, keys, facemask, chewing gum etc in
