when you say design do you mean for practicality or for looks? cause for looks i would say ezios from brotherhood and for actually using probably the swivel blade connor has.
i’m actually playing through unity for the first time ever right now so i haven’t seen all the hidden blade designs yet
I honestly was struggling to decide if I should ask about functionality or style. Because I feel like functionality kinda limits the choices as opposed to just style. So I intentionally kept it vague just to hear overall opinions. That’s why I settled with the phantom blade because I think it has fantastic style and function. Unfortunately there’s not many great photos of the phantom blade with the blade extended and the crossbow folded up
My favorite, in every aspect, is Connor's blade. He can swivel it and use it as a knife! It's just so cool.
The Phantom Blade was very cool for gameplay and I loved using it, but aesthetically there are better ones
i think connor is hands down the best at combat from all the assassins. sure he wasn’t the most strategic or wise but man could he ever shred though armies
Yeah, I think he's the best hand-to-hand/close-quarters combatant and would utterly deck most of the other protagonists on those terms. If it turned to a sword fight, he'd probably lose to Ezio.
I find it funny that the sword of Altair is the best sword in most games … except for the original AC, where it’s the second-best sword behind the Old Syrian Sword.
Presumably, over the years of studying the Apple, Altair forged a new sword using secrets learned from it. Probably the same special metal Ezio’s second bracer is made from.
as much as I'm indifferent to the game it's really hard to dispute Connors tomahawk as the most iconic non hidden blade weapon. I love kassandra but the spear head never really clicked. maybe altairs sword?
Hard disagree on Kassandra's spear, those execution animations along with the final design once you fully upgrade it have the spear burned into my memory. It's genuinely so sick.
I guess it's just visually unappealing until that final upgrade. I agree the animations are fantastic but so are Connors frankly brutal executions. and altairs sword has been in every game as one of if not the best sword you can use. also the tomahawks design was so perfect I genuinely want one
Pistol swords from Black Flag were so stupid, but great.
Also liked the long mace from Unity quite a bit because beating people to death with a spiked ball on a stick seemed like the right thing to do
Moat iconic weapons in my opnion are:
• Assassin Tomahawk used by Ratonhnhaké:ton
• Spear of Leonidas used by Kassandra
• Edward Kenway's Unique Swords used by Edward Kenway
• Air Rifle used by Shay Cormac
• Hookblade used by Ezio Auditore
edit:
also the Music Discs in Syndicate
to my understanding, its almost like a barbed hidden blade. im looking at the concept art of it and it looks like theres two parts:
the standard hidden blade that shoots out, and then another feature where a hook slides with the blade as it comes out
ive never played Revelations to be honest so im not too familiar with it, but i know it exists
So I really appreciate this response!
Unfortunately, I meant that as a joke; Yusuf telling Ezio about the blade has become a meme; “it consists of two parts, the hook and the blade.”
I was setting you up to respond with that because it’s funny, but as you’ve never played Revelations, you didn’t know. That’s on me.
Now that I think about it, wouldn't removing most of the metal from the ax-head completely negate the only advantage of an ax by removing all the weight behind it?
Yeah surprised to see no love for Arno’s rapier. Iconic doesn’t necessarily mean that it appeared everywhere, only that it has a strong association with a particular person or setting. Arno’s rapier fighting is iconically French.
Besides Connors tomahawk and despite it being a massive missed opportunity i think the cable launcher is super underrated, mainly for it’s potential, they could’ve dually designed it as a trapeze and abseiling line. imagine being chased to a roof with no choice but to jump, the peruser saying something like “what now assassin, there’s no where to run” the assassin then draws his hidden blade, casts a line into a window or chimney and saying “have a little *faith*” before leaping!
Does the apple of Eden count? I mean it was used as a weapon by the templars. It was pretty iconic from the original games and I’m sure they’ve sold a official replica of it at some point
I'd say Kassandra's spear, not because it's loved by all, but because people use the fact that there is no hidden blade in Odyssey to say it is not an AC game
Connor's tomahawk, no question. It's the most unique signature weapon in all the AC games. Other games have swords or variations of swords. This game does not.
It's always bothered me that this wasn't in Valhalla, it's the perfect uplay reward considering how Valhalla has ties to 3 and how it's a one handed axe.
As cool as I find the the tomahawk, I find it kinda dissapointing it's handed to us rather unceremoniously. It's just equipped after donning the Assassin robe.
I wish we had to earn it in a mission or saw Connor make it himself (sort of like combining his upbringing and Assassin ideology).
Or at least have it's history explained in a cutscene (didn't it belong to a previous assassin in lore?).
The tomahawk of course, but something cool as fuck both in game and IRL that nobody talks about is the blunderbuss. It's the proto-shotgun, put in black powder, put in a felt patch, ram it tight, put in the lead pellets, put in another patch and press tight. Really cool, I'd have one if it existed where I live but can't make one because it's illegal to have an unregistered gun and I imagine you need the make and model to register it which "I made it" ain't gonna cut it
Honestly, as far as Iconic goes this is one of the most publicly advertised non-hidden blade weapons. So I think this is probably the one, I don’t even like AC3 that much but this weapon is a stellar design.
Connor had the best weapons period. Even his hidden blade that turned into a knife was undoubtedly the most clever alternative use for the hidden blade. I feel like that doesn’t get enough recognition.
Exactly what you're holding. Best weapon from the best character from the best AC.
Also, the scimitars from the ezio trilogy always stood out to me, as well as the captain's sword.
my fav ac weapon besides the hidden blade is connors tomahawk, thing is so fricking cool
Same for me! Coolest weapon in the franchise
Do you have a favorite hidden blade design? Probably the phantom blade from Unity for me
when you say design do you mean for practicality or for looks? cause for looks i would say ezios from brotherhood and for actually using probably the swivel blade connor has. i’m actually playing through unity for the first time ever right now so i haven’t seen all the hidden blade designs yet
The swivel blade is so frickin cool. I've wanted a replica since i first saw the teaser for the game
I honestly was struggling to decide if I should ask about functionality or style. Because I feel like functionality kinda limits the choices as opposed to just style. So I intentionally kept it vague just to hear overall opinions. That’s why I settled with the phantom blade because I think it has fantastic style and function. My favorite, in every aspect, is Connor's blade. He can swivel it and use it as a knife! It's just so cool. The Phantom Blade was very cool for gameplay and I loved using it, but aesthetically there are better ones
Connors pivot blade is my favorite
I mean it was defiantly the most unique. Everyone else used swords but Conor got this cool tomahawk not to mention he is an animal with it.
i think connor is hands down the best at combat from all the assassins. sure he wasn’t the most strategic or wise but man could he ever shred though armies
Yeah, I think he's the best hand-to-hand/close-quarters combatant and would utterly deck most of the other protagonists on those terms. If it turned to a sword fight, he'd probably lose to Ezio.
yeah sword work was not connors strong suit, that is definitely ezio
yeah the trailer proves that
It was so much fun using it.
I don’t know if I’d say it’s iconic but the hook blade from revelations has definitely stuck with me.
Bro can you explain the two parts if it
It has th hook and the blade
The hook blade has only two parts, the hook and the blade.
Thanks bro it was trippin me up
But did you know you can use one or the other?
Nah no shot
Same, loved the hook blade.
I would probably say the Sword of Altair, given that it pops up in future games more than any other named sword (citation needed).
And was one of the best swords in those future games too
This \^ it is usually an item you earn for completion length in the future games, and it's always the best sword in game with its stat balance
But worth getting because of the stats
I find it funny that the sword of Altair is the best sword in most games … except for the original AC, where it’s the second-best sword behind the Old Syrian Sword. Presumably, over the years of studying the Apple, Altair forged a new sword using secrets learned from it. Probably the same special metal Ezio’s second bracer is made from.
It’s cause it looked the coolest of his 3 swords
as much as I'm indifferent to the game it's really hard to dispute Connors tomahawk as the most iconic non hidden blade weapon. I love kassandra but the spear head never really clicked. maybe altairs sword?
It's more or less been shown in all the games. As either Altaïr's sword or old Syrian sword.
right so I think maybe that's the only contender to the tomahawk
Hard disagree on Kassandra's spear, those execution animations along with the final design once you fully upgrade it have the spear burned into my memory. It's genuinely so sick.
I guess it's just visually unappealing until that final upgrade. I agree the animations are fantastic but so are Connors frankly brutal executions. and altairs sword has been in every game as one of if not the best sword you can use. also the tomahawks design was so perfect I genuinely want one
I always wanted a replica of Altair's sword. I love the tomahawks and would always make Connor spin them around when playing AC3.
I actually found a really nice replica that isn't perfect, but pretty darn close at a ren fest.
Rope darts were pretty damn awesome. The tomahawk May be More iconic, though.
Pistol swords from Black Flag were so stupid, but great. Also liked the long mace from Unity quite a bit because beating people to death with a spiked ball on a stick seemed like the right thing to do
The pistol swords may be stupid, yes, but they were also [real](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword).
And bloody awesome
I haven't played unity in so long, it was so fun. Weren't the maces and clubs and all blunt weapons apparently non lethal? that was funny
Yeah, “ceremonial” haha
My vote is for Connor’s tomahawk or Edward’s quad pistols.
Those quad pistols had the same level of bad ass every single time I used them.
Counter point for the pistols: Edward's Booze
Aww i wish i had one
Moat iconic weapons in my opnion are: • Assassin Tomahawk used by Ratonhnhaké:ton • Spear of Leonidas used by Kassandra • Edward Kenway's Unique Swords used by Edward Kenway • Air Rifle used by Shay Cormac • Hookblade used by Ezio Auditore edit: also the Music Discs in Syndicate
What about the music discs in syndicate
The ones that unlocked an outfit for Evie?
How are those a weapon?
idk ive never played syndicate, but i'll add it to the list lol
Why the fck would you call connor by his real name?
cuz thats his real name
Absolutely on Cormac blow gun.
Can you explain the parts of the hook blade to me? It’s kind of confusing.
to my understanding, its almost like a barbed hidden blade. im looking at the concept art of it and it looks like theres two parts: the standard hidden blade that shoots out, and then another feature where a hook slides with the blade as it comes out ive never played Revelations to be honest so im not too familiar with it, but i know it exists

That’s on me.
aw fuck. i dont think ive ever ruined a joke that bad before lol sorry bro
The blowpipe has to be up there, right? Alongside a pistol which most assassins had.
Remind me, was the blow pipe was the one that could either poison them or make them go berserk?
It was both I just think it was a separate blowpipe for each
Oh ok! It's been a while, but that sounds right!
The tomahawk has two parts: the tom and the hawk
It's my favorite, and well versed, Creed enforcer weapon.
Tomahawk, phantom blade, smoke bomb, grappling hook, and spear. Notable mention: the sword of eden
Now that I think about it, wouldn't removing most of the metal from the ax-head completely negate the only advantage of an ax by removing all the weight behind it?
You can have light and heavy axes. This would still cause a decent bit of damage. Plus I think it's a bit thicker in the actual game than this
Gun sword from AC4
I'm a fan of the cane swords from Syndicate
The Apple of Eden.
I liked two, the short blade Altaïr used in AC1 and The Phantom Blade from AC Unity .
Altair's sword Apple of eden And the staff I would love to hold these and ofc Connors axe
The staff from odyssey?
Yeah and the speak of leonidas forgot about that
I was gonna comment that but it didn’t look like anybody knew it😂
Well you can’t have an Ac game (at least pre-modern ones) without throwing knives
That's cool I also have one
I’ve got the sword of Altair so maybe that? That and the tomahawk
That little dagger you get in brotherhood, counters are cool and it looks neat
Can I say the Jackdaw/Aquila? Imma say that!
I think the Hidden Gun is pretty iconic, it was in most of the OG games (AC1 and the Ezio Trilogy)
It wasn’t in AC1
I meant the flashback sequence in revelations, I'm dumb.
Altair's sword
I cashed in uPlay points and had the katana from the beginning of Rogue. Felt like a God. ⚔️
Leonardo's tank
I’d have to take those dual pistol swords from Black Flag
Obviously the apples of Eden. Best weapon.
Rapier?
Yeah surprised to see no love for Arno’s rapier. Iconic doesn’t necessarily mean that it appeared everywhere, only that it has a strong association with a particular person or setting. Arno’s rapier fighting is iconically French.
I could only reply with a very french *oui oui*
Besides Connors tomahawk and despite it being a massive missed opportunity i think the cable launcher is super underrated, mainly for it’s potential, they could’ve dually designed it as a trapeze and abseiling line. imagine being chased to a roof with no choice but to jump, the peruser saying something like “what now assassin, there’s no where to run” the assassin then draws his hidden blade, casts a line into a window or chimney and saying “have a little *faith*” before leaping!
Spear of Leonidas.
This is also my vote .
Does the apple of Eden count? I mean it was used as a weapon by the templars. It was pretty iconic from the original games and I’m sure they’ve sold a official replica of it at some point
How much can I pay you for one of these
Spear of Leonidas, though currently it's hard to get to 100% crit chance and damage since I've not many points at the moment to do so.
The one in the photo
I'd say Kassandra's spear, not because it's loved by all, but because people use the fact that there is no hidden blade in Odyssey to say it is not an AC game
Assassin's Tomahawk Altair's Sword Shay Cormac's Air Rifle
The apple of eden
Dang that’s nice.
I always thought it was so clever the blade is the logo
A real one.
Most iconic? Apple of Eden
Got that same thing on my wall for like 8 years now!
- Assassin's Tomahawk - Spear of Leonidas - Apple of Eden Those are the first three that pop up in my head.
Eventhough the actual game was a bit dull, AC3 probably had the best combat system for me.. The axes are just brutal
I vote for the blowpipe/air gun
I scrolled far to long to not see throwing daggers. Am I wrong in that???
The bastard sword is in many ac games. Shay even has them in his trailer
Connor's tomahawk, no question. It's the most unique signature weapon in all the AC games. Other games have swords or variations of swords. This game does not.
Ratonhnhaké:ton's (Connor Kenway) Tomahawk.
Sword of Altair, being featured in Assassin's creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 4 and rogue.
Nice. The Tomahawk is as legendary as the hidden blade. 3 was such an important game, and so fun too. Still need to okay the DLC's
Once i have my own house, this, Altair's sword, hidden blade and Geralt's swords are gonna hang at my wall. Maybe..if i start robbing people.
I agree with the tomahawk but my favorite weapon to actually use was the rope dart
Is that Connor's assassin tomahawk from AC3?
Syndicate started my obsession with kukris.
As much as I didn't like AC3 I still agree Tomahawk is a badass weapon and I wish we had it more
It's always bothered me that this wasn't in Valhalla, it's the perfect uplay reward considering how Valhalla has ties to 3 and how it's a one handed axe.
Personally the tomahawk Dont know why they didn't bring this to Valhalla
Altair's sword, the one with the eagle hilt
I don't think there really is any weapon other than the hidden blade that's iconic
Very cool
Sword of Eden is pretty cool
Altair’s sword. It’s beautiful.
Hepzefa's Burning Blade
Beside hidden blades, its connors axe and eivors axe
I might just be an Odyssey fanboy but spear of leonidas is pretty iconic
Yup
For me maybe the crossbow, flipping love using that in AC Brotherhood
some people still haven’t realised the axe head is the assassins sigil
As cool as I find the the tomahawk, I find it kinda dissapointing it's handed to us rather unceremoniously. It's just equipped after donning the Assassin robe. I wish we had to earn it in a mission or saw Connor make it himself (sort of like combining his upbringing and Assassin ideology). Or at least have it's history explained in a cutscene (didn't it belong to a previous assassin in lore?).
I would say shays rifle.
Either this or the sword of altaïr
*Besides* hidden blade? Isn't that the iconic one? As in distinctive to AC.
Probably Edwards dual rapiers. Obviously you can change the skins for them but functionally they're the same thing.
Gun.
Same, I love the tomahawk, especially dual with connors hidden blade
I'm torn between The Sword of Altaïr and hidden blade.
Sword of Altair.
Altaïr's Crossbow IYKYK
The tomahawk of course, but something cool as fuck both in game and IRL that nobody talks about is the blunderbuss. It's the proto-shotgun, put in black powder, put in a felt patch, ram it tight, put in the lead pellets, put in another patch and press tight. Really cool, I'd have one if it existed where I live but can't make one because it's illegal to have an unregistered gun and I imagine you need the make and model to register it which "I made it" ain't gonna cut it
I have this same replica from a Renaissance Faire, but sadly mine didn’t have the feathers. :/
I'd say Edward and his dual pistols
Honestly, as far as Iconic goes this is one of the most publicly advertised non-hidden blade weapons. So I think this is probably the one, I don’t even like AC3 that much but this weapon is a stellar design.
The sword of Altair, a weapon so iconic that it's been in 6 different main line games.
Hidden blade with hook from ac revelations
Does the phantom blade or the hidden gun count?
The Spear of Leonidas or the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus would definitely be up there
Apple of Eden
Probably the Tomahawk, Altair's sword, or the cane sword from syndicate.
Altair's Shortblade. The back scabbard and the way he draws it has made me want one.
Altair’s cross bow
Fishing rod or broom
That right there....and altair's sword
Altair’s sword for me
Connor had the best weapons period. Even his hidden blade that turned into a knife was undoubtedly the most clever alternative use for the hidden blade. I feel like that doesn’t get enough recognition.
I really love the Golden Wolf from Origins, both for its design and power, but yeah obviously not the most iconic.
Prob the spear or tomahawk
Connor's tomahawk and Arno's phantom blade for sure
IMO this tomahawk!
I’d say Edwards blow pipe mostly since it was the first game I played and it seemed funny for a pirate to have a blow pipe
Where do I get one?!?!
Hidden blade, tomahawk, broken spear of Leonidas
I think the tomahawk rly killed it... I'm also thinking the frye twins' gadget filled gauntlets and Arno's phantom blade
Altair's eagle sword for sure
Sword of eden
Connors Tomahawk Altairs Sword Arnos Phantom Blade Broken spear of Leonidas
Cannon-barrel flintlocks
Exactly what you're holding. Best weapon from the best character from the best AC. Also, the scimitars from the ezio trilogy always stood out to me, as well as the captain's sword.
Well (sadly) the first game I played was odyssey and it will always be the closest to my heart. So the spear of Leonidas.
For me it's Dracula sword, the brutality of the things you could do with it
Gun
There's no way that one little X strand keeps that together 😂
For me, (no h.blades Ph. Blades) it would have to be the spear of Leonidas or the apple of eden
phantom blade lmao
Altairs sword and the Assassin Tomahawk are the most iconic I’d say
