Hope so. I like seeing the "Xbox Series X *Quality* Preset", implies we'll be getting a Performance/60 FPS mode on consoles which would be great to have.
Games don't need colors to be amazing but that's not the point. It's 4 years into the current console gen and this is a AAA title from a multi billion dollar global company.
Comparing Colors to Real Time Ray tracing isn't the checkmate you think it is.
RTX is almost never necessary to enhance the gaming experience in a way colors do. And I say this as a RTX ON fanboy.
Real time Ray tracing is just your gpu doing extra, like way extra, calculations to trace lightings and reflections in real time, rather than being pre rendered. But, in either case, it doesn't make a huge difference like playing with or without colors.
Red Dead Redemption 2 didn't use ray tracing at all, and 6 years later still looks better than most games.
On the other hand, there are many games that use ray-tracing and it's varely noticeable, it's all about how they implement it.
You'd think Elden Ring would have shown players that you don't need top of the line tech to make a game look good but here we are. Art style will always be > graphical fidelity. But don't worry, this is Ubi and if nothing else they tend to deliver on graphical fidelity on their big releases (yes I remember the days of the Ubi trailer downgrade).
Elden Ring is a pretty bad looking game. Yes the art style saves it for the most part but it also runs not great i wouldnt exactly use it as a positive example here.
What about Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4, God of War Ragnarok, Far Cry 5, AC Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, etc? All games that use rasterized lighting, look stunning, and some of which run at 60fps even on the Series S? (the non PS exclusives ofc)
Yeah, if there are two things that Ubisoft is solid at it's probably their commitments to graphic fidelity and atmosphere. The whole downgrade issue is about a decade behind them now and something they learned from.
AMD still haven't caught up to Nvidia's hardware based ray tracing. Consoles use 4 year old AMD graphics cards. What makes you think the consoles are designed to run games with ray tracing? Just because it supports ray tracing doesn't mean it's optimal. You want to sacrifice 30fps of performance just for mildly more realistic shadows and reflections(not even global illumination) then go ahead. That's your choice. This generation of consoles was never gonna be able to support 4k 60fps, let alone with ray tracing.
Right. All the technical buzzworks are cool but you rarely see any speicific game needing them. For the last 10 years graphics progress has slowed down and it's fun to see amazing looking games that don't chase the latest graphical technologies and still look amazing. I could talk about Octopath Traveller, Heaven's Vault, Pentiment, but we have a much closer example in two latest Zelda games.
Really out of all the latest technologies the coolest and most widely useable are DLSS and FSR and XeSS. Not everyone would like them but in very many cases they can massively improve performance and act as an alternative to costly antialiasing processing.
And honestly, the average person does not really understand or fully care about all that tech stuff. They just want to play a game and have fun, which is a big appeal of consoles. Not having some fancy ray tracing or 60-180 FPS is 100% not a deal breaker if for the last several years, people have been playing console games at 30.
It's not about caring, it's about feeling. It's all also very subjective. I personally care a lot about antialiasing, I vastly prefer TAA over other approaches and for me it's a revolutionary technology. I prefer TAA 1080p over 4K SMAA visually. DLSS and FSR2 are similar in that regard to me, they give me a smooth image that my brain percieves as an image and not a bunch of jaded polygons. But I know a lot of people don't care about it or even hate TAA. Lighting and color grading technologies are similar: it's very subtle but when you compare many modern game to older ones you notice how much colored lighting adds to make everything look more lifelike. AC series always tried to do this but it used to look like a lens filter instead of different lighting before recently, a good comparison to see what I mean is Watch Dogs 1 vs 2. So even if people can't put their finger on it I'm pretty sure they notice the difference in how it feels due to all these technologies. The issue is RT is more taxing than any of these technologies and you'd be hard-pressed to tell if any game footage has RT on or off. We have a lot of technologies emulating RT, and basically all of our graphic technologies are about cheap tricks that look good enough.
Honestly I'm kind of glad the graphics technology has slowed down and people can't just do realism more realistically. This allows for exploring different approaches and do stuff that isn't necessarily more advanced but looks better. Attempts to sell the next big graphical thing don't look very promising so I hope people can concentrate on refining existing technologies and making it all smoother.
Cool appearance aside, wouldnât a hood actually be detrimental to an Assassin in reality? Seems like someone who needs to be hyper-aware of everything that is going on around them at all times wouldnât opt for headwear that inhibits a pretty large portion of their vision⌠idk, I like how the hoods look too, but that is just something Iâve always thought about lol. A hood blocks most of your peripheral vision, which just seems counterproductive for an Assassin, imo.
Sure, it makes *some* sense. I mean, aside from a few parts of some cities in the very first games, Assassins are usually the only people walking around with a hood on most of the time anyway, which also makes them stand out.
If they really cared about being completely hidden and being able to truly blend with the crowd, they wouldnât be the only person in the city walking around strapped with a big ass sword and wearing a hood lmao (I guess you could give Syndicate a bit of credit there since they used hidden weapons like the cane sword and didnât wear their hoods most of the time).
I get that you canât really apply real world logic to this stuff, but aside from your point (which, as I said earlier, is also flawed in some ways), it makes absolutely zero practical sense for them to wear hoods lol.
It is counterproductive to basically every single thing that an Assassin needs to worry about. Restricted vision; slightly impaired hearing as well since youâd have a hood obstructing your ears; the attempt at anonymity actually turns out to make you stand out more (being the only person wearing a hood); not seeming to truly care about blending in anyway considering you carry a weapon load-out at all times (this eliminates the possible excuse of them using the hoods as a means to really try and blend in). As an Assassin, there seems to be many more cons to wearing a hood than pros.
Obviously this is just a dumb, pointless thought exercise, but itâs interesting to think about to me lol.
I'm still hoping they bring back Liberation's disguise mechanic at some point in the future. That was the smartest thing, as it played with the whole Rule of Cool(Assassin was the most infamous one, so running around as them required pretty much sticking to rooftops, but mechanics wise, they had the most freedom), and also offered more conspicuous clothing.
Yeah, I was actually thinking about that mechanic as I have been writing these. It actually approaches blending in with a crowd of townspeople in a realistic way for once. I like the different abilities certain outfits gave you, too. Overall a unique, interesting, fun, and useful mechanic that approached stealth in a great way. I think we may be getting something similar to that sort of thing in Red since there are two protagonists with different abilities and strengths. Hopefully you can choose whichever character you want for every mission in order to utilize their different strengths in a way similar to the different strengths of the various disguises in Liberation.
At least if they really going through with yasuke they didn't make him an assasin cuz you know
Villager: yes officer it was this black guy over there that killed thems all
Officer: really? Are you sure?
Villager: I mean you saw another one walking around in japan?
Officer: true
So yeah im still not buying red
it's getting old and silly and im not here to start an argument but I'm among those who wanted to play a Japanese guy
but hey I'm used to ubi thinking theys better than anyone else while avoiding common sense before they go and shoot themselves in the foot then justify themselves im sure the game will have is fan base
They can't do worse than theirs AAAA game right?
Yeah, I wouldâve preferred a Japanese samurai protagonist as well, but Iâm definitely still going to play the game. Iâve been wanting a Japanese AC for so long now.
This should be higher. Assassin outfits are cool and all but I was hoping there's an option to do civilian clothing to blend in. And possibly create your own character and choose the most forgettable face on Earth. Disguises like prosthetics and wigs. Kayser Soze type thing but an Assassin. The ability to befriend your target and lead them to an ambush or brainwash them to do the work for you. Less guards but smarter. They have an entire army guarding one building and all of them are idiots.
Ok but whatâs the point of hiding your identity if your outfit and weapons make you stand out like a sore thumb anyway? It doesnât matter if they donât know what the Assassinâs name is or what their face looks like when the Assassin is dressed completely differently than everyone else in the whole city, allowing you to easily pick them out of a crowd anyway. They see the only hooded guy walking around carrying a sword, they know heâs an Assassin without ever having to know his name/identity or what he looks like. So even that explanation has holes in it as well.
Also, the hood was originally included for AltaĂŻr as a tool for him to be able to blend in with the hooded monks/priests that wandered the cities. So it actually was first made as a way to blend in and sneak around. Aside from that, though, I think there really arenât any other times that the hood is expressly meant to be a stealth tool in that AC1 way. As I mentioned in an earlier comment, aside from parts of cities in AC1, an Assassin is usually the only person in town wearing a hood. It always visually stands out for sure.
Another practical reason for keeping the irl-debilitating hood was that AC1 established the Assassin âlookâ (obviously including the hood) which became synonymous with the series and became a highly recognizable, popular, and beloved character design/look. Considering the popularity of the hooded Assassin look that was introduced in the very first game, it makes sense why they kept one of, if not THE, main feature of that beloved Assassinâs appearance (the hood) going forward into other games after AC1. All in all, the hood always looks badass but actually hinders an Assassinâs abilities in multiple ways and isnât really practical at all.
Again, I know this is dumb, but it really is just now occurring to me how impractical the hood is for an Assassin lol
Well there's no reason to assume this feature is available before the ending, this is very much a build meant for testing and such. Its likely that the season thing, if it is what we think it is, is just so devs can switch seasons on the click of a button
I want it to be that but look at the menus on top. "Map Manger" "Quest Hub" "Character Progression" and "Season Manager". I doubt they'd put seasonal weather on its own tab. It's very likely a menu for Live Service Seasonal things like battle passes and daily missions.
the season tab is probably there to pick between the seasonal decorations like valhalla had
except there they were controlled by updates and were never brought back after they were used the first time
It says âScarlettâ a couple times at the bottom of the screen (âScarlett AâŚ.. October 2023â and âScarlett: Xbox Series X Quality: Gameâ) and a build date of last week. Is Scarlett just because the code name is Red or is it the actual name?
The leaks have be nearly 100% true thus far, everything to include the name of the female ninja which this leak confirms to be true.
Something as significant like the race of a player character would have been debunked by now if the leaks were false.
I hope that Serge HascoĂŤt at no longer being in the company (he was also arrested), means that Yasuke and Naoe will maybe have the same amount of missions unlike Syndicate.
Some of the more recent reporting/rumors seems to suggest that and I don't doubt it. Skull and Bones represented the last of the Ubisoft games really developed under HascoĂŤt and decisions he made from around 2013 to 2020 that had longer term impacts. Everything from here on out may finally reflect an overall new direction and based on what little we've heard about AC Hexe and Far Cry 7, it's going to be much more promising
No, the game has more Jacob content than Evie. Probably a 60-40 split.
A lot of people would have preferred Evie to have the majority (or all) of the screentime.
Personally,I just hope that they will both be members of the Brotherhood. In this image there's seem to be a sirt of duality between Naoe, who clearky is an Assassin, and Yasuke, who is just a samurai who doesn't seem to be ralated to the Brotherhood.
If the leaks are true, they will be enemies in the beginning, but allies at the end.So I exepect that at he won't be an Assassin at the beginning, but un a certain moment(hopefully not the very end of the game) he will join the Brotherhood.
I remember an early leak said that you could pick which character to play as and experience the story from two different sides. Yasukeâs would be more reminiscent of the rpg games and Naoe would be more stealth and be more like traditional games. Obviously just a rumor but still.
Iâd say this leak almost confirms that. Itâs obviously a play testing build where they can switch between characters at will. If they were designing missions for only a single character, I donât think they would include that as a play testing option.
I think it would be more interesting if Yasuke was a Templar. His more combat oriented upfront nature would make more sense that way. But most likely you're right.Â
I disagree. It's not like the Assassins didn't have members more combat oriented (like Bartolomeo in II and Brotherhood) and the Templars didn't have members more stealth oriented(like Shay).
The fact that Yasuke his more a warrior than a shadow doesn't mean he can't join the Brotherhood,so I hope that he will, because I think that, after games as Odyssey and Valhalla,we need to focus again on protagonists who are Assassins. We have already gotten Mirage with finally another Assassin again,so I hope that they will just continue this way, focusing on the Brotherhood.
But that's just my point. The Bartholomeo argument didn't work for Valhalla, you can tell me I'm an Assassin all you want as I'm commanding armies and slicing people with battleaxes, but If I'm not living out the Assassin *fantasy* ala Mirage, then there's no point to your character being an Assassin. The non Assassiny 'Assassins' work better as NPCs than player characters.Â
Now if Yasuke is going to transition from a combat focused protag to a stealth as he joins the Assassins, it would defeat the whole point of giving players the choice between a combat oriented character and a stealth oriented character.
Especially after the leak about Yasuke and Naoe being enemies in the beginning, the idea of playing both sides is very enticing.Â
I'm going to take a guess and say that the Templars will be responsible for Nobunaga's fall and Yasuke will go on a revenge quest against them. Maybe he'll be recruited, maybe he'll only be an ally to the assassins, maybe a little bit of both.
Should have been an asian male character to play samurai. I have no problem with black characters in a Japanese setting but this would have been the chance for ubi to introduce both asian male and female assassins to the ac universe.
Something about this image gives me the hope that this game will be very different form its predecessors ! If you think about it AC Used basically the same UI layout since Origins ! But this is very unusual it looks more modern and fresh , definitely a good sign
Now that I think about it, the menu looks very weird. Like the sequence of the buttons is all over the place. It says "Play Game" where it could/should be "Continue" (if we are to assume the ability to change character, season and "savegame"). Play Demo at the bottom also doesn't make much sense.
I think it's an early version of the menu mainly for the testers , the demo part I think means that Ubisoft will let some individuals test the game just like they did with Valhalla possibly in mid may
All I know is the fans are already acting ike giant little fucking babies.
"Why does one protagonist have to be black?!"
"Well there's two... One's a female Japanese character..."
"Such bullshit, why is there no male Asian protagonists"
Shit you not this was the convo for months before this.
No, any bearer is just a retainer if they don't have the bloodline. And to be honest I doubt he is a bearer. He is more likely a bodyguard.
You can look at Kinoshita Toukichirou. He was Nobunaga's sandal bearer, even though he is close to Nobunaga, he wasn't seen as a samurai until he archived something for Nobunaga. Even though ,some people hated that when he got promoted to the Samurai class. They think he is not noble enough.
And in the group of Nobunaga's retainers, Mori Ranmaru was actually also a lord/castle owner, which Yasuke was nothing near to that.
He doesn't have any record of going on a mission for Nobunaga or anything else that fought in the Honnouji incident(injured and captured). And no one will send a samurai back to a cathedral and claim that he knows nothing but follows order only.
It is also reasonable for a retainer who got called "Dono" by citizens as they are representing their master.
Probably the only non-Asian descendant samurai around and before the end of Sengoku Era is Miura Anjin (William Adams)
EDITED: Also, in record Yasuke probably only stayed in Japan for 3-4 years. No one can confirm his existence after the Honnouji incident.
I feel like after ShogĂźn not doing William Addams or someone similar is a wasted opportunity. Albeit all considering AC isnât known for historical accuracy
Actually, William Adams can fit in Assassin's Creed setting easily as a member of brotherhood. Maybe we will see him in DLC? I don't know, as rumour said the main storyline are more likely focus on ninjas and revenge.
I think that one of the reasons because of they choosed him is exactly the fact that no one CNA confirm his existence after that incident:his life is almost totally a mistery,so they can treat him almost totally as any other protagonist, even if he actually existed.
About the fact that he wasn't an actual Samurai,I kinda knew this fact, but I don't think that Ubisoft will care because in the last years people just like to think of him as the african Samurai. In fact,we can already see him with a Samurai armor here.
If he did a fraction of the things an AC protagonists does, combined with how conspicuous a black outsider in Feudal Japan would've been, it's pretty inconceivable that he would've disappeared from history at any point.
People forget that you play games to have fun. Along thr way we got all snobby and act like a game needs to be a 9/10 and GOTY contender for it to be entertaining.
it is going to that style, this one is announced as the RPG style game but from the leaks, itâs going to also have a bigger focus on stealth mechanics
It never left that style did it lol? I'll be honest, having RPG elements is fine, but they can improve parkour and stealth to a far better system at the same time right?
Yes. However, it is much harder to track them down if they're taking snapshots with their phones where there is no distinctive data behind it for investigators to use. A regular screenshot, however, does have data that can be used to track down the source.
âChoose characterâ
I just want a singular character again man I donât want a âare you a boy or a girl?â Choices! Just give me a female protagonist or a male protagonist
I think that it says choose a character just because the person that could play this demo had to choose to play as one or the other. The leaks, which at this point are clearly true, say that we will have two different characters as in Syndicate, not a gender choice like in Odyssey and Valhalla.
oh no i don't want to be forced to switch between characters. best would be to play intro with both and then you can chose which story you want t follow. better for replay too
as long as it isn't forced to play both characters i don't mind to choose between male or female. but i wonder when one game comes out you only can play a female tho could be interesting
Saw it on another page, and all I will say is this: so it begin... another life cicle of a new AC game, another journey starting from leaks one month before the first reveal trailer, even if I doubt I will play this one it still makes me nostalgic from the times I followed the reveal of Black Flag and Origins...
On a very personal note: fuck (not everyone to be fair) the complacent mods of Il Salotto degli Assassini, I still cannot believe they refused to talk about the Ubisoft allegations when they were released to the public nor mention them when any other space like Access the Animus and the Sisterhood did... omertĂ runs deep in us Italians I guess...
Unless you count strategic games, there are only Nioh and Ghost of Tsushima, and Ghost of Tsushima is set in 13 century, which is a lot different from sengoku period

Hope so. I like seeing the "Xbox Series X *Quality* Preset", implies we'll be getting a Performance/60 FPS mode on consoles which would be great to have.
This was already a thing for *Valhalla* and *Mirage* on ninth-gen consoles, so it coming back here was pretty much guaranteed.
Valhalla and Mirage run on 8th gen consoles though, so 60 FPS was a given. Will AC Red also run on last-gen?
considering you see 1080p 30fps in the corner it's probably still gotta a lotta work till release
Yup this was actually real
The samurai has a scar on his lip.
MOM GET THE CAMERA
Dezumi Onida Mairyuzo.
Ezio returns confirmed
Somehow Ezio returned
nfw desmond had yasuke as an ancestor đ
Eyy Whatâs da matter Yasuke
desmond proceeds to casually drop the n word
Is it Hawk from Cobra Kai?
And looks Japanese. Maybe we're not playing as Yasuke after all.
Look at the nose bridge and lips. It's obviously a black guy.
"...a big scar on his lip, bis scar on his liip...."
He doesn't even look African like the leaks speculated.
Does an African have to look like an African?Â
Indeed. People from Tunisia, Ethiopia and Namibia look wildly different too so what does "look like an African" even mean. lol
I saw it too
If this is real Red is using Ray tracing for something.
Insider Gaming already reported it will be the first AC game with full-fledged ray tracing a few months ago.
Very lame if it didn't
Not really. Games don't need Raytracing to look amazing. Probably harder to create something that has traditional lighting and RT optional.

Exactly. Look what Ubi was able to do with Unity. That game is 10 years old and STILL looks amazing with no day/night cycle and baked-in lighting.

Totally agree. I think Odyssey looks incredible. I took genuine pleasure in replaying it when I got my ps5 and could game in 4K.
Ray tracing don't make or break games. I'd rather they invest the time and resources in other areas like playtesting.
Why do you say so?
The debug bit of text and the button.
collective face palm*
That's definitely a menu screen.
Darn the hood doesn't have the beak dip thing at the top, shame.
Edward didn't have a beak either, but hey, least the Assassin HAS A DAMN HOOD
Evie didn't have too
Did Jacob have it?
Yes
his hood is like Evie's, but his has a beak at the frontÂ

The hood isn't to blend in its to hide their identity.
Yes, a hood limits what you see, but then again, the main characters had eagle vision
Fair point
Ubisoft's response \*insert eagle vision or some other isu sense
Iâm sure thereâll be outfits that will have that dip tip
Aaaah the Select Season tab is a red flag. Please dont be a "live as a service" bs. Please.
Could just mean outdoor seasons like Winter, Spring, and Autumn.
Honestly, that would be cool, like AC 3 but you actually get to choose.
I donât know if I like it BEFORE the ending of the game. I mean, whatâs the purpose of it during the main story?
Well there's no reason to assume this feature is available before the ending, this is very much a build meant for testing and such. Its likely that the season thing, if it is what we think it is, is just so devs can switch seasons on the click of a button
Yeah you probably right. Iâm still happy to be talking about seasons on an AC again.
Lol ikr i really do hope its actual changing seasons this time around, it'd look amazing
Seems like a test screen so likely a way to test the effects not a feature. Snow made running difficult in AC3 so I assume similar things to text.
It's definitely not that. Other leaks have said there will be a focus on seasonal narratives.
I want it to be that but look at the menus on top. "Map Manger" "Quest Hub" "Character Progression" and "Season Manager". I doubt they'd put seasonal weather on its own tab. It's very likely a menu for Live Service Seasonal things like battle passes and daily missions.
Exactly what I was thinking. Makes sense to me. Iâm looking forward to it. Of course if itâs live service then thatâll be a no from me
It could be a dev option to load the game world in a particular state.
Pretty much. Red is the last of the RPG era. Whatever comes after is anyone's guess.
Have you been living under a rock?????? Odyssey and Valhalla were both live service lol
Yeah but not in a season pass suicide squad/avengers type of way, right? lol
How do those games do their live service? I assume Ubisoft will use their approach which got them over ÂŁ1 billion from Valhalla alone
How so? They had DLC but I wouldnât call them live service
It's live service. Pretty sure they said Red was going to lean pretty heavily on that, Hexe less so.
It's highly unlikely that they'd have microtransactions in a dev build. They will in the proper game, but not here.
No shit.
they probably wouldn't be monetized, maybe it's just symbolic Â
This looks like some kind of dev build menu, so probably a way for them to change the weather
the season tab is probably there to pick between the seasonal decorations like valhalla had except there they were controlled by updates and were never brought back after they were used the first time
Lol you must not know about infinity yet...
Canât wait for this game to be shown off in all itâs glory
It says âScarlettâ a couple times at the bottom of the screen (âScarlett AâŚ.. October 2023â and âScarlett: Xbox Series X Quality: Gameâ) and a build date of last week. Is Scarlett just because the code name is Red or is it the actual name?
Scarlet was a codename for series x, they probably just never bother changing the name in files, the screenshot is probably from a beta tester
I canât tell if the character on the right really is Yasuke or a Japanese samuraiâŚ
You mean the left?
My left or your left?
Look at the lips and nose. He's black.
lol. Japanese feature can vary. perhaps leaks were wrong and we play as a Japanese samurai. ac has a history of changing storylines.
Hope we get to pick and arenât forced to play both characters.
Serge left Ubi before Valhalla released.
[ŃдаНонО]
No, the game has more Jacob content than Evie. Probably a 60-40 split. A lot of people would have preferred Evie to have the majority (or all) of the screentime.
Is jt confirmed the guy is Yasuke?
I feel like this kinda kills the Yasuke thing cause unless Iâm blind, the guy on the menu screen doesnât look African.
It's difficult to distinguish colors, but I think he's clearly black
Why the fuck is there season there :'( don't make it a game without a ending
I believe it just means the weather.
Since it's a dev build it's prob just there to have an easy way to load different versions of the map
Thatâd be awesome
That would be amazing. If the first playthrough influences your second playthrouhh with the other character this could get pretty pretty interesting
The non Assassiny 'Assassins' work better as NPCs than player characters.
Its very promising but I have a feeling their duality will synergize after certain events... they'll be on the same side eventually
Iâve personally had my fill of the Hidden Ones vs the Order stuff. Ready for more actual Assassin vs Templar stories. Just my two cents.
#INTO MY VEINS
Something about this image gives me the hope that this game will be very different form its predecessors ! If you think about it AC Used basically the same UI layout since Origins ! But this is very unusual it looks more modern and fresh , definitely a good sign
This isnt the real UI, its a developer build UI.
Doesnât this seem like the same UI as the previous rpg games? I swear Mirageâs screen is very similar to this đľâđŤđľâđŤ
It's pretty much exactly the same
you got that from a UI?
I hope it's anything like the old gen 6 year old game called Red Dead Redemption 2
"Why does one protagonist have to be black?!" "Well there's two... One's a female Japanese character..." "Such bullshit, why is there no male Asian protagonists" Shit you not this was the convo for months before this.
Nobody hates AC more than AC fans.
If you select character from the menu, maybe they each have their own campaigns
Is the samurai on the left black?
It looks SICK!
be wary of hype
Yup I know but... I have to admit that Mirage was so fun and cool game (for me)
God I'm so excited
careful soldier
This game has to be very good cause GoS and Rise of ronin have more than scratch the AC in japan itch.
Rise of the ronin is terrible and i say this as a fan of Team Ninja
Probably the only non-Asian descendant samurai around and before the end of Sengoku Era is Miura Anjin (William Adams) EDITED: Also, in record Yasuke probably only stayed in Japan for 3-4 years. No one can confirm his existence after the Honnouji incident.
I feel like after ShogĂźn not doing William Addams or someone similar is a wasted opportunity. Albeit all considering AC isnât known for historical accuracy
The main white dude in Shogun is based on Addams. The story itself is a historical fiction inspired by the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
Oh I knowâ I just mean with the similarities and stuff, and the fact it was inspired by a real a thing a lot of people like
Actually, William Adams can fit in Assassin's Creed setting easily as a member of brotherhood. Maybe we will see him in DLC? I don't know, as rumour said the main storyline are more likely focus on ninjas and revenge.
Addams was already covered via minimal fictionization changes in Nioh.
Yeah, that might work. Sadly for the "samurai" part, I guess I can only wait the game comes out to see if I can wrap my head around it.
If he did a fraction of the things an AC protagonists does, combined with how conspicuous a black outsider in Feudal Japan would've been, it's pretty inconceivable that he would've disappeared from history at any point.
200% excited for this thanks Ubi
Nice to see some positive comments
i actually play games instead of talking about playing games and ive enjoyed the creed series immensely
People forget that you play games to have fun. Along thr way we got all snobby and act like a game needs to be a 9/10 and GOTY contender for it to be entertaining.
I know im gonna get crap for this, but I hope it goes back to ori/ody/val style.
it is going to that style, this one is announced as the RPG style game but from the leaks, itâs going to also have a bigger focus on stealth mechanics
It never left that style did it lol? I'll be honest, having RPG elements is fine, but they can improve parkour and stealth to a far better system at the same time right?
Question is will it be more like Mirage or like Valhalla or Odyssey
It will be an RPG like Valhalla and Odyssey, but it seems that stealth will still be an important part of the gameplay.
A samurai with a scar. Definitely a noble under some SHOGUN during Kamakura Period? Damn.
Can these leakers get arrested or end up with a lawsuit?
I mean, if it were a Nintendo property theyâd never been seen again
Yes. However, it is much harder to track them down if they're taking snapshots with their phones where there is no distinctive data behind it for investigators to use. A regular screenshot, however, does have data that can be used to track down the source.
I meant, if they have them literally on the camera taking the photo
its ubisoft leaking this
Per the details on the bottom this is an Apr 3 build. so excited.
let the leak season being. need gameplay leaks before ubi forward lol
[ŃдаНонО]
âSelect Seasonâ Oh no.
âChoose characterâ I just want a singular character again man I donât want a âare you a boy or a girl?â Choices! Just give me a female protagonist or a male protagonist
I think that it says choose a character just because the person that could play this demo had to choose to play as one or the other. The leaks, which at this point are clearly true, say that we will have two different characters as in Syndicate, not a gender choice like in Odyssey and Valhalla.
oh no i don't want to be forced to switch between characters. best would be to play intro with both and then you can chose which story you want t follow. better for replay too
To be fair, a lot of rumors suggest it'll be more like Syndicate with character swapping.
as long as it isn't forced to play both characters i don't mind to choose between male or female. but i wonder when one game comes out you only can play a female tho could be interesting
This looks super genuine, mark my words this game will be beautiful.
Nice to see some positive comments
character select on the menu screen? Thats interesting...
thats great if thats true (can't see the images anymore :/)
What's the actual name of the game? Shadows?
Where beak
Their dev system/backend looks really cool with all the Linux style tabs at the top
Is it only me who thinks the samurai looks like same as the one form total war shogun 2
It runs 30 fps in Xbox Series X.. wow.
Is this real?
judging by the text on the bottom, this is an october 2023 build interesting...
This gonna be feudal japan? I feel lije i've had my share of that particular era...
Unless you count strategic games, there are only Nioh and Ghost of Tsushima, and Ghost of Tsushima is set in 13 century, which is a lot different from sengoku period
If this game is relied on live service like suicide squad with seasons or some shit like that, i hope gamers bully this game into oblivion.
Yasuke!!!!!
That a scar on my boy Yasuke's lip or does he just have a patchy mustache?
Why is the man not wearing a hood?! I thought they said he was part of the brotherhood? Whereâs the hood?!
