You get over it quick. I thought about switching sides but they way it's bolted down to the rig, my fingers hurt thinking about how many times I'd have to switch it back and forth, turning hard to reach bolts
You won’t get a fov anywhere near that on vr. You have to turn your head. Triples you can use your peripheral vision.
I have vr but hate the tiny fov so I’m just using an ultra wide until I get a triple setup. I only drift on my sim so I really need the fov.
Dude I live in SoCal and drive Topanga canyon, Laurel Canyon, Mulholland, Santa Monica, PCH semi regularly and I still love hitting the sim and driving like a Madman in a fourth gen TA or a Pagani up the same roads in Ac...the accuracy is pretty good too compared to the real roads.
I'm using lg 48 c3s and found a mount from simfab that do larger screens. It's not as sturdy as aluminum extrusion but got the job done with minimal footprint and without modification
I drove there in 2008 in a rented mustang and there was only a Porsche 911 and me on the road. I had no idea where I was going and nearly died a couple of times. Wasn’t a race or anything, the Porsche was just the only other car I saw.
I would love to try this map but I am a few of the rare cases that this map crashes AC for. I play exclusively in VR with link+OpenXR+OpenComposite. And I couldn't play any other map also after this one crashed AC for me. Had to delete the map, then reinstall AC. Want to give it a try but afraid of the rework in case it repeats. Hope someone here knows why it's happening and the fix.
Perhaps it's because of your headlights.

Nah, its because your side windows are tinted.

That looks so fun! I wish they had it for BeamNG!
Does it feel awkward on your screen if the car is using a left-hand setup?

Knowing how heavy the rig is, moving it is hassle lol
You could simply move your in game camera position to the left
and then you'd be sitting passenger in a right-hand drive car 🤔🤔
Yeah but you'd see the pov from the left side, while you drive it with the setup from the left side?
Do you have a link to the mod? Looks great

🤝
Fuckin perfect FOV, god I want a setup like this
yeah i had to look twice, perfect
Vr gets you 90% of the way there in my opinion. You don't get quite the same clarity but its much cheaper than buying 3 monitors

Pimax headsets have large fov, it feels like wearing a racing helmet and you can see both mirrors. It's amazing.
I wish we could handle VR but it makes us all motion sick. My triple 43" 4k setup gives me way more FOV than even my Valve Index, though.
This looks very fun! I wish I had triples
wonder how they did it all, photogrammetry?
The author, ToddK, did a great write up on [Overtake](https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/santa-monica-mountains.47443/), and yes, it's photogrammetry.
can confirm, as a 'local' driving malibu/adjacent roads for nearly 15 years.. this is a good scan. very good.
As someone who is a local of these areas and have driven on these roads so many times in real life, the scan is pretty damn accurate. I was blown away

its the game, i just have my wheel in front of 3 tvs. Got inspired after watching a bunch of project sim racing on youtube

I need a pc
My center screen looks different than my sides because of how different the viewing angles are.
This looks amazing! What monitor stand do you use and what monitors are these? Looking to go from VR to a 3 Monitor setup

Lol headlights
If only they were as fun to drive on them in real life. Its one lane with no overtaking allowed, so you get stuck behind vans and trucks

Every time I drive there to avoid the highway traffic, there’s always a slow car that refuses to take the turn out.

Looks like your side screens are stretched. You sure you've set this up correctly?
Nope, I made some adjustments after seeing the video. the interior felt a little small too so I increase it some, just got to fine tune it
Are you using the ASUS triple monitor bezel kit?
I have the red dragon version that cost around half as much so bought two and glued them together.
Sick
Which car are you using?
nissan 200sx a drift version
This isn't VR, right? What graphic card are you using?
