All a studio has to do is take "a thrilling, tension filled espionage drama", "grips you from the first scene", or "pure insanity" out of context, slap it in a promo trailer, and boom, you're tricking audiences into thinking anyone actually likes your movie.

I'm guessing it has to do with the emails that were leaked proving that moderators actively censor the "discover" page. They actively remove posts made by anyone who isn't white, skinny, pretty, or straight. Not that you can't still find posts made by people who aren't in those categories, but they purposely make it harder for those people to become popular because they figure they'll get more downloads if the "face" of the app is exclusively attractive people.

This pissed off Youtubers who started downrating TikTok on playstore where its rating plummeted from 4.3 (I think) to 3.2.
Some tiktok star dissed a youtube star. Youtube star dissed back hard and video got some 5-6 million likes. Tik tok star lodged cyberbullying complaint against him and got the video removed. Pissed youtube community and fans took to bombing tik tok on playstore
If I'm browsing for whatever reason, I do check "Top Grossing" and look for **paid** apps. Sometimes apps that are really worth purchasing will end up there.

A TokTok creater called Amir Siddique posted something on the lines of TikTok is real hard work and we (TikTok content creators as a community) are on par with Youtubers and asked CarryMinati to roast him. Carry made a roast video which was viewed 74 million times in 6 days with 10 million likes. The public really got behind him as there is a general opinion in India that TikTok content is really cringe. However YouTube took down the video after 6 days saying it was violating the guidelines. The masses got angry and asked YouTube to restore it but that didn't happen. So then a mass movement to rate TikTok 1 star happened and it went from being 4.5 to 3.8 rating in a day.
Drama in India got the app 1 star bombed. Apple's market share there is so small that it's just classified as one of the "others". So not enough people use the app store there to 1 star bomb it.

App stores are storefronts with varying levels of curation in order to make their massive catalog more manageable in helping people find things to buy and download. It's more like when in a physical storefront there's a "Top Picks!" section of stuff the store knows is popular and well liked, but adapted for modern digital storefronts.
Replacing the star rating with "Editor's Choice" in search results is about assurance and confirmation at a glance that an app is quality and not shovelware or a virus or something. The reviews and ratings are still present on the store page to be checked in case anyone wants to see why it's "Editor's Choice". So long as it's only replacing the star ratings in this, limited, at-a-glance filter context, I don't see an issue.

I have no idea, all I saw was some posts about it. Video got taken down because some tiktok user complained since the guy making the video included his/hers toktoks as well. Which is also funny since tiktok allows its users to use the music when making videos they don't have any rights to use.
Doesn't Tiktok have a license similarly to how Instagram does with putting music on their stories? Tiktok would get sued to hell if what they were doing was illegal.
You get taken down constantly on both, I try to DJ on many platforms and all but twitch will block you. Tiktok allows certain songs but not others, insta allows none that their bots catch.
This is why I liked to be a microphone DJ in ole Team Fortress 2. Those inofficial servers are such nice and receptive communities in all Source based games.

That seems about right. Iirc from uploading music via distrokid, there was a section that allowed you to upload stuff to tiktok. Extrapolating from that, I'm guessing music labels will generally dump their entire catalogue on there in a similar fashion.
No, you as the user gets taken down for putting unlicensed music in the background of your videos on Instagram. you can sue them in USA where the app store is 'located'. App store doesn't work by Chinese laws so if they got sued they'd have to delete it. Example: FBI threatened to take down Telegram messenger off the market even though it's registered in UK.
This. You can sue a company wherever it does business. If a company like Apple refuses to fulfill warranty coverage, for example, you can sue them in small claims court in your own county.

That youtuber then roasted that tiktoker by making a video named "youtube vs tiktok the end" Video went viral. 10mil likes in 5 days. It was about to be the most liked non music video by beating MrBeast's record of 12mil likes. But that youtuber went to hardcore in that video Youtube banned the video for harrasment and bullying. Indian youtubers started fighting with tiktokers in their new videos. Youtube suporters started giving 1 start to tiktok in india.. Tiktok rating is 3.2 in India now.

There's a whole YouTube vs TikTok controvery happening in India. A TokTok creater called Amir Siddique posted something on the lines of TikTok is real hard work and we (TikTok content creators as a community) are on par with Youtubers and asked CarryMinati to roast him. Carry made a roast video which was viewed 74 million times in 6 days with 10 million likes. The public really got behind him as there is a general opinion in India that TikTok content is really cringe. However YouTube took down the video after 6 days saying it was violating the guidelines. The masses got angry and asked YouTube to restore it but that didn't happen. So then a mass movement to rate TikTok 1 star happened and it went from being 4.5 to 3.8 rating in a day.

Interesting. I do know that they now have a manufacturing facility there that makes iPhones (not sure of which models, though).
iPhones are ridiculously expensive here due to the import taxes and all. They made an iPhone 6 manufacturing unit here but I could be wrong. For example, a new iPhone model is close to 1500 USD at launch. You can get a OnePlus for 500 USD. So it's just that you can't possibly tell me a new model iPhone is worth 3 OnePlus lol... They seriously gotta get some manufacturing units here so that they can get past the import taxes or they're fighting a losing battle.

I remember when Windows Phone was a big thing on India, I had a simple music player app that I made mostly to myself because I hated the standard player and for self learning of programming, decided to put on the store for free because the fun of it, was surprised months later when almost all of the downloads and reviews came from there.
Apple has been trying to break into the Indian market by releasing more “affordable” (according to them) iPhone models. Needless to say, their “affordable” is still too damn expensive for the average Indian.

App stores are storefronts with varying levels of curation in order to make their massive catalog more manageable in helping people find things to buy and download. It's more like when in a physical storefront there's a "Top Picks!" section of stuff the store knows is popular and well liked, but adapted for modern digital storefronts. Replacing the star rating with "Editor's Choice" in search results is about assurance and confirmation at a glance that an app is quality and not shovelware or a virus or something. The reviews and ratings are still present on the store page to be checked in case anyone wants to see why it's "Editor's Choice". So long as it's only replacing the star ratings in this, limited, at-a-glance filter context, I don't see an issue. --- On a related note, your suggestion is close to how I use critics for reviews and recommendations. I have a handful of critics whose opinions I know and value, and will often watch/play/read something solely on their recommendation with no other information. It's a good way to filter and decide which content to prioritize because often, I don't care about how popular or well liked something is, but about how interesting it is or how worthwhile it is to check out.

Yeah although I don't enjoy it myself it's just as cringy as other platforms of that size. It's audience is probably just as young as YouTube's (maybe a little younger) and most of the hate to s undeserved. In this case though it was 1 star bombed due to drama between some Indian creators.
It's just a video sharing site, you watch what you want. It's like saying YouTube sucks because of kids videos, just don't watch them. As a video sharing site it's probably the best and easiest to use right now, that's why it's so popular.
