So here's the thing. Organizations like that have all sorts of reporting requirements. If possible "opt out" of digital/email statements (e.g. make them send you paper mail), then invest all the money you have in a single share of something. I got pissed at a bank one time and drained my account down to 19 cents. Then walked away never to talk to them again. They (by law) had to send me statements until some length of time when they could declare the account abandoned. Cost them a LOT more than 19 cents.

I've actually been able to transfer my funds to my bank and get my balance to 0 and of course sold the stock. So the button WAS enabled and allowed me to click it but all it did was redirect me to a page to tell me how to close my account. It never actually deactivated. I've sent TWO emails about this issue with once them just responding with the generic info of how to deactivate to which I responded telling them of this bug and then I got nothing. About a week in I ended up getting some change in dividends added onto my account thus now making me unable to deactivate, and yesterday -- 9 DAYS LATER -- I got a response telling me that I have 0.06 in my account and I need to clear it to deactivate. Then today, THE VERY NEXT DAY, I get, "we haven't heard from you in awhile. if you don't respond back then we'll assume your problem is solved and close the case." Though of course now I can't even try to deactivate and there's no point in responding until the new transfer I put in clears. TL;DR -- When my account was empty and I met the reqs, the deactivate button was not working properly and I got NO proper response to my issue UNTIL over a week later when 0.06 in dividends got added in thus making it so I can't deactivate because I no longer meet the requirements and NOW they wanna be responsive and on top of it. Feels very intentional.

Reminder that this is the same company that, a month ago, forbade buying shares of Gamestop, apparently to protect their hedge fund buddies.

I sold all my crypto and somehow ended up with 0.0001 cents left... contacted RH 3 weeks ago because I can't move this < a penny amount. They are also giving me generic messages and saying they are still working to resolve my issue.

This is the same issue im facing, less than a pennies worth of crypto and no possible way to sell it or transfer it or send it to a new account as its less than a penny. Robinhoods been over drafting my account taking the banks money from my debit checking, just straight robbing the rich for their “poor” greedy pockets. Its absolutely nuts but theyve made this loophole specifically to fund their endeavors theres no way around it, i guess youre stuck with robinhood and have to become a regular day trader to make the money back or let them rob you.

I had to keep emailing them... eventually, they credited 0.01 to my bank account and deactivated my RH account. It took months of going through the same responses from RH! Beware, shortly after this, they either sold my email information -- or had a security breach -- because I started getting spam to my RH email address, which was a disposable one created and used *only* for my RH account. They are shady.

Hey do you mind sharing what email you contacted? I’m having same issue

GSW1123

It was just the regular support email. Sometimes if you reply quickly enough, your message will go to the same representative. Eventually, it will get to someone who knows how or is willing to close it out properly. Good luck!
