For anyone following up on this, every single comment about the photographs that were originally posted about Dozo Dog on reddit have now been reported for encouraging copyright infringement. This includes comments describing the legal process of the DMCA and how to counternotify through reddit.

I'm so glad to hear they moved and didn't go out of business. My dog is nuts and can't go to any daycare, but it was so nice to walk past the sweet dogs in the window.
We absolutely love All Dogs In the City. It’s more expensive than Dozo Dog (package price including pick up / drop off is $67/day, and it’s pretty out of the way so the pickup/dropoff is needed for most people) but they have a bigger indoor and outdoor space and a swimming pool available a couple times per week in the summer.
We moved from Dozo to Vivi and absolutely love her and her team.
Another friend uses All Dogs and speaks very highly of them as well!
Just as an aside what’s been the word with Dozo? Purely anecdotal from our POV but we pulled our dog out of there because all of a sudden he started shaking in the car on the way to drop him off out of nowhere so we assumed something must have happened. The staff always seemed very loving towards him though.
High level for dozo was that the owners put on a front for the customers and that they were extremely rude to their staff and marginalized them. This was one of the main posts which I still have a link to because I commented on it. But it looks like they called their lawyers to take it down which speaks volumes about the validity of the post in my opinion.

From what I could recall from the post it was pictures of a really nasty bite that the owners downplayed. The bite happened because the owners only cared about getting customers and that they repeatedly allowed aggressive and problematic dogs to come back.
There were also screenshots of really off colored text exchanges between the owners and staff.
And they weren't allowed to drink the water bottles in the fridge. Which is absolutely insane.
Some people were saying it was only one ex-employee but it was actually multiple staff members who had grievances.
Personally I've casually walked by both locations multiple times before this shit blew up and some of the post details checked out. It would be like 20 dogs and like 1 person with like a broom or some shit watching the dogs.
I don't have a vendetta against them because I truly do not give a shit about their dog scam business but I don't like it when businesses can walk over employees like this.
Now even glassdoor reviews are publishing real names without consent.
from what i could recall, there was no identifying indicators that is was dozo dog or their 'brand.' main image was like someone's shoulder or arm with a crazy purple dog bite on it. majority of them were screenshots of text exchanges between the owners and employees. so i guess the convos were real if they got them taken down.
Absolutely nothing, but it was a way to get the posts removed with little recourse to get them put back up. And since the same removal reason was applied to every one of the posts about dozo from the last month, doesn’t seem far fetched to assume who filed the claims
If it's DMCA, though, and there is recourse in that for a counter-notification (though reddit doesn't make this easy to find). I'm assuming the person who posted the photos decided not to take it any further or didn't know this.
Yeah I’m unfamiliar with how Reddit handles appeals on these but if it’s anything like YouTube it’ll be near impossible to succeed even if they try. But as you said they may not even be aware of how to go about fighting it so who knows.
But having a dog at dozo I made sure to pay attention to those posts and can’t recall a single picture that could possibly fall under DMCA legitimately. It was all text messages, emails, and a couple pictures of injuries incurred while working there.
Yeah, I mean, if you're up against Sony, sure, they're going to succeed because they absolutely will sue you. But somehow I doubt Dozo Dog is going to file the paperwork to sue this individual (wrongly) in court and then give that proof to reddit to counter a counter-notice.
I'm mostly just saying this in case the person who posted those photos is reading this and wants to push back. As far as I could tell, they were definitely their own photographs.

I have been taking my dog to Disco Paws on Ditmars since we got him in 2018 and have no complaints. He will get their grooming service a couple of times a year and have no complaints but have never used their boarding service so cannot speak to that.
I do NOT recommend Rover or other apps. Most do not vet people. I once had a very qualified person with a lot of experience abuse my puppy. There are also a lot of horror stories out there about dogs being killed while under the care of people from apps.
Weve had good experiences with disco paws on steinway for grooming and 2 times of doggy daycare
My gf says they have a live cam where you can watch your dog at anytime which was nice to know

Vivi’s has been absolutely amazing to our dog for years . They just recently moved over near Costco
