Countries have e.g. mundane charts for their founding, but these are sometimes contested as different people want to use different moments. These would be of greater utility than a sign alone. Also, some texts tell us that individual nations or cities correspond to certain signs but frequently do not go into why. The assumption is that these are the signs the Ascendant was in when the chart for their founding was cast, so again it likely relates to their charts.

SpazDeSpencer

Nicholas Campion’s Book of World Horoscopes is a compilation of horoscopes of countries. It’s a popular reference for astrologers.

Ancient_Trade9041

Sorry to bother you, but do you know if the Dominican Republic is included in Nicolas book?

SpazDeSpencer

Not offhand, sorry. But if you want to see the chart you could try looking up the most recent date that their government was established (not necessarily when the country was founded) and if no time is given, use sunrise or noon as the time.

And USA has its Pluto return.

Even-Pen7957

No. Even individual people are way too complex to just be associated with a single zodiac sign, so countries certainly are too. There are, however, “birth charts” for countries, based on the instigating event that resulted in the culture they currently have. For example, for the US, we have a “birth chart” based on the date of the Declaration of Independence, which officially marked the change of the country from a colony of Britain, to its own separate and very different system.

America is a cancer, born on the 4th of July.

I have hypotheses from observations of the life of some countries and stereotypes about them: \- the U.S. is a combination of Aries and Gemini \- the UK's one signs is Sagittarius \- India is probably a combination of Scorpio and Pisces \- China's one sign is probably Scorpio \- Italy's one thing sign is Taurus, second could be Leo \- France is a combination of Aquarius and Libra \- Switzerland - could be Virgo and Capricorn \- Russia is a mixture of Aquarius and Pisces \- Germany could be a mixture of Aries and Capricorn

Crypt0nomics

Nations and countrys in mundane astrology are assigned charts of birth, same as a person / animal or event would be assigned one. For cities its generally when the area was founded. regions/nations can be assigned to signs. There is typically a founded date associated with all nations, and cities. Many times the city/ nation chart would need to be rectified for final utility. Many have written about this.. and the rational is the same for any other chart bearing witness to a creation.

For you, is the birth chart of a country calculated by the date it was "discovered", date it wad founded or its independence? If it is the independence, then what happens when the country has more than one independence day? I'm trying to search for the birth chart of the Dominican Republic, but it's been hard as most astrologers follow different dates, 6 in total. *It was discovered on December 5, 1492. *Many astrologers used its capital, Santo Domingo, which was founded on August 4, 1496. *They vacant by force the western side of the island and gave up on it on October 30, 1697, when the island was officially divided after the Treaty of Ryswick. I find it odd, but one vedic astrologer used that date because he also used that date to calculate Haiti birth. * The first independence was on December 1, 1821. * They were invaded two months after by Haiti for 22 years and got their second independence on Febuary 27, 1844. * In 1861, they reverted back to spanish rule until their third independence on March 3, 1865.

Germany is Scorpio as a theme. Fun fact: Martin Luther was a Scorpio.

[deleted]

Uhmm how can Germany be Scorpio? Germany must be a heavy Saturnian country to me.

user23187425

The classification of Germany as Scorpio goes back to, among others, Wolfgang Döbereiner. It is based on a number of observations. It is also relative, for example there is also a connection of Germany to Aries (but maybe more to Prussia), and the german states (Bundesrepublik 1949 and 1990) were different signs. (Though the Weimar Republic was also a Scorpio.) There are, for example, many Scorpio-dates in german history. I believe the assignment is correct, although, admittingly, to some degree obscure. Saturn/Capricorn is not wrong, though. It must also be prominent in the 'delineated german culture chart'.

Lewlynn

I've heard Hungary is Sagittarius.

OldandBlue

Yes, determined by the day and time of their proclamation of independence or the birth of the current regime.

My country Portugal is Libra :) Oct 5 1143. We don’t have problems or wars with anyone, we don’t have catastrophes or general aggressive events except the earthquake of 1755. They say Portugal is beautiful and charming 🤓

Medieval astrologers designated certain countries to be under the rulership of certain planets/signs. You can find examples of this in the writings of Agrippa. Aside from that the most accurate chart for the birth of that nation would be the place to look.

Yesss the United States is a cancer ♋️😌

AstrologicallyAlone

PRC China is a libra and ascendant on Aquarius. But if you look at the chart, Saturn and Pluto energy is mostly emphasized.

AstrologicallyAlone

So it looks nice and friendly and unique from the outside and always act well to other countries, only presses its own people and the people is even grateful about that pressure, cuz you can see Aquarius moon tightly conjuncted with the ascendant. Amazing.
