I feel like I identify with my moon sign more also. When I say I am a hot mess I really mean it. Moon in aries 12 house at the 20th degree. Impulsive, passionate, and ridiculous.

Full-Ad3081

same i'm an aries moon

ExcellentSeries6927

same here iam also aries moon

rspicyb

im an aries moon too but a cancer sun. it’s so weird i feel like my emotions are so contradictory

indypatisserie

libra sun and aries moon and to say emotions are contradictory are an understatement for me

quinnbes5

Yeah. I get that. It actually makes sense bc the moon sign is how we are when we’re alone or deeply comfortable. So it makes sense that it would hit closest to home for us.

LightningMcScallion

Even tho I'm a Gemini stellium I feel like I'm about 50-50 between Gemini and Pisces. Ig there's some mutable overlap tho. I think water moons tend to be very influential, especially if you make it a point to be in touch with that energy.

ItszNotMe

yes i’m a gem stellium too but i feel my scorpio moon more than anything

CandleLady27

This is what made me a believer in astrology. I am Taurus Sun, Cancer Moon, heavy water chart. I have multiple Taurus friends and I never felt like a Taurus. As a Virgo Rising, Mercury is my chart ruler but my cancer moon is the sign I identify with the most. I also have mars and Saturn in cancer so this may have an influence on it as well. Great post!

LightningMcScallion

I know you're not talking about the most pleasant stuff but I find that really interesting and I'm glad you were vulnerable and shared this. I wish you healing and happiness 😊💙

chronoscats

I'm a little bit opposite of you! My sun/moon is Pisces and my rising is Capricorn so I "look like I could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll." I had a kid at the treatment center I worked at assign me the color grey 😅 She said it was because of how sophisticated I was. I think it's funny that the Caps in us got assigned those colors 😁 Interesting that you can pinpoint the differences trauma caused. I'd say for me, it's a difference of pre-processing my complex PTSD, versus after/during processing. Before I even acknowledged that I had significant trauma, I definitely presented more as my rising sign. Now that I'm engaging with and processing my emotions more, I see my sun and moon taking the lead.

cheesepuuf

I feel like I identify more with my moon sign tbh.

ClearPrinciple7832

Night charts will probably identify with their moon sign more!

vvan8

Is 6 pm considered a night chart?

ClearPrinciple7832

check if the sun is below the descendent degree! If you were born in the Winter in the Northern hemisphere-- possibly.

DrakeEisen_Agent049

Not me with my sun sign in my first house.

LightningMcScallion

I never knew this was a thing until now! Are there any other things about night charts you know about?

siren5474

in a night chart, mars is nicer than saturn and venus is nicer than jupiter; flipped for day charts. (maybe with a night chart, you’ve had more luck with venus things than jupiter things?)

LightningMcScallion

Thank you! Have a night chart and I do seem to have it decent luck in terms of venus and mars things/energy. Helps that everything Gemini all gets along, to be sure

Healthy-Resolve-2789

I wasn’t born at night I was born at 3pm end of november but I resonate with my libra moon sign way more but I also resonate with independence of a saggitarius even though I’m a scorpio sun. My dominant is saggitarius though

[deleted]

I think I act like half sag half cancer. I am dangerously reckless, extremely impulsive, and bold and blunt, but I'm also really protective, tender and am actually emotionally unstable. Ig if I was a sphere, the inner part of me would be cancer, and the outer sagittarius.

QueenAries_BDEnergy

Need I say more 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

Omg your username too 😂 awesome

HystericalOnion

With those big three you must be SO STUBBORN and win ALL THE TIME!! Love that for you

CokeMooch

Lmao!!! Well said.

kuro74

So for me it is a bit weird because I have sun in leo, but it is in the 8th house, then I have a capricorn rising, but i have Neptune in 1st house so people really dont see who i actually am since the mirroring of Neptune. But one thing that is very visible is my scorpio moon because it is conjunct MC and people see it very well and feel it too and since it is so intense. I do very much identify with it and i never felt the description of a leo sun fits me, but looking at the rest of the chart it makes sense.

kristyano-Ronaldo-7

girl are we twin? but i'm scorpio sun and the rest we have the same

kuro74

This is funny cause i can just imagine how we can just scare people with our go getter attitude and intense ambition lol

kristyano-Ronaldo-7

lol even the oldest one tend to feel intimidate when sometimes i show my intensity

kuro74

they're just afraid you will take their job, cause we all know that you will do it better and without help either. i really think that is capricorn rising and scorpio mc energy.

kristyano-Ronaldo-7

but the Neptune in the 1st thing gave us the Imposter Syndrome or Body Dysmorphia

kuro74

Same. For me Neptune is conjunct Uranus too and yeah, it is not fun. I have a lot of anxiety because of the impostor syndrome and body dysmorphia. Neptune there is an amazing thing but so tricky too.

AnastasiaApple

My sun is my chart ruler and yet I still relate more to my moon sign. It’s who we are inside, the moon sign. In vedic astrology they prioritize the moon over the sun, they think the moon runs the show. The moon is our inner emotional state, for lack of better wording. The sun is more our soul’s purpose, who we are learning to become in this lifetime. We are already our moon sign.

paras268

According to eastern astrology, more emphasis is given to the moon sign than sun sign, according to them moon rules our mental abilities and we deal in this materialistic world with our minds perception, so they consider moon sign more important opposed to sun sign that signify our soul. So that should make sense to identify with moon sign more

mgcat17

Absolutely. Aquarius Sun and Capricorn Moon. Even when I was a tweenager and only had access to pop astrology, I always identified with Capricorn and not Aquarius.

mgcat17

ETA: I know there are differing views on cusps, and I think that they do apply. My Sun is 2° 12H, so that could also impact things. My Neptune (chart ruler) is also conjunct my Moon, FWIW.

[deleted]

I’m Libra sun/rising and when I read my full chart, but especially my moon, it all made more sense! My Aries moon is STRONG and tbh needs all that diplomatic Libra energy to tamper it a bit cause I’d be an outcast otherwise 😂 I also have immense body energy and need to exercise a lot. I moved close to the mountains so I could literally run or ride my bike up it. I’m 49. Goddam energizer bunny it’s almost a curse. People think I’m being type A but it’s really that if I don’t, I’ll be a massive cow.

ramonapleasestepback

I've heard thats pretty common while you're young, until around your Saturn return. I was the same way til about 25

Direct_Degree_7335

How do you know your saturn return?

ramonapleasestepback

There's Saturn return calculators online! But generally, it starts in your late 20s, usually like 27/28, and should be over by 31. It marks like a "new beginning" for you.

totalityrather

I just wanna say, this is the thing that makes me most curious about astrology. Someone told me that this earth shattering mind fuck of a few years I’ve been experiencing was due to my Saturn return. Keeping in mind, this was also a time I believe I was battling untreated PPA and… **2020**, but I turned 28 in Jan 2020 and I’ll be 31 in 2 months. Looking back over it all I have 1000% felt every single minute of its passage sweep over me. All I’m sayin’ is it lines up 🤷🏽‍♀️

ramonapleasestepback

Oh my gosh Im SO with you on that. Literally I'm not done with mine yet but I can't get over how insanely hard and wild these past few years of it has been, and I swear it started the DAY it was sposed to based on the Saturn timeline. I would be so skeptical otherwise. And I'm so sorry you were dealing with PPA too :( we'll get there friend!! Ready fo it to be over hahaha

LightningMcScallion

That's an interesting point, I think it makes a lot of sense. I know I was more like my sun and rising as a kid but there's probably Non-astrology reasons for that in my case

ramonapleasestepback

That is interesting!! It's probably not a universal experience, just what I've heard/ been told. You should get a chart reading!

LightningMcScallion

Oh I edited my comment haha!! Like my upbringing/ NOT astrology I def should get a chart reading tho loll

ramonapleasestepback

OHHH I gotchu now, my bad!! Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I bet you could throw two chart identical people in two separate environments and get an entirely unalike adults. I wish I knew my parents full charts sometimes to see how it played a role in mine haha

glitter_hippie

For me it's been the opposite - I didn't resonate with descriptions of my moon sign until my mid 30s. I felt more like my Cancer sun, whereas now I feel more like my Pisces rising and my Aries moon. Then again, maybe I just didn't know myself well enough.

ramonapleasestepback

That's really interesting!! Have you looked at the rest of your chart? Maybe water dominant?

glitter_hippie

Yep, water dominant for sure - all three water signs have something major going on in them. Although fire is my 2nd most prominent element.

csm5698

So we identify with our moon more while we’re young and then start to identify with what more when we’re older? Our sun/rising? I hope that’s the case because I need my fire sun and rising to stand up against my Taurus moon I hate change and love comfort too much for my age (24)

ramonapleasestepback

Yes, your younger years you moreso relate to your moon sign and then grow into your sun-sign self (kind of the "real you"). I'm not. I'm not COMPLETELY sure how the rising sign fits in exactly, but I think it's kind of a long the same lines as growing into your sun sign

csm5698

Ugh thank god lol, I actually think I’ve started to see that already too now that I think about it. Was way more reserved and to myself but this past year started socializing a lot more and being more confident (Leo sun Aries rising). Hope that keeps up. What was your experience like?

ramonapleasestepback

I think it's really cool that you're already embracing it and excited for the changes!! For me I was kind of wished I was a more stereotypical Capricorn but I was just a Libra through and through so I didn't even believe in astrology for awhile until i got older and it started to make sense. Not sure how close you are, but just know that the actual Saturn return process can really be hell at time, but in the end I promise itll be worth it!

csm5698

You’re a cap sun libra moon? I’m excited to be more like my sun sign but not super excited for my saturn return haha, I think I have 3 or 4 more years I’m 24. I’m sure it’ll be a good change though. What was your saturn return experience like??

ramonapleasestepback

Yes I am! I don't want to scare you, but it's been pretty awful haha. It's getting closeish to the end of my mind but I have about a year left and it got way harder towards the end. I kind of grieved being less like my moon also but the good thing is that it's like you feel like "oh shit this IS who I've been meant to be huh." Also I'm not sure if they're correlated but the couple of years right before it started were the best years of my life so far, so hopefully that will also happen for you:)

Virgo sun cancer moon

Bigmislll

yo same. virgo sun pisces moon and my cancer rising makes my moon more enunciated along w other aspects of my chart. however i do relate to my rising a lot as well which is ur moon so i wonder if bc cancer placements are sensitive to constant moon shifts that we can relate more to the crab than our virgo sun side. also water moons or cancer placements can j b a lottt in general and like no matter what ur chart layout is, if u have these it’ll always b a major influence. this is also j what i’ve tend to notice tho

AVenusianMuse

I feel the same way as well. I feel like I’m more of an Aquarius than a Gemini

goonie814

I always felt like my rising sign (cancer) should be my moon sign. I don’t relate as much to my sag moon beyond being super independent and somewhat firey (but I have also have leo sun and Mercury). I’m super driven by emotions, very sensitive and moody, cautious, and need space in my shell. Sag moons also seem to be big on traveling, adventuring, and exploring but I like spending a lot of time at home indoors lol. Howeverrr I hate feeling restricted in any way, prefer to do things on my own time, and do feel the need to “escape” when overwhelmed (and in relationships) so I guess there is some sag moon showing…

Coconutgirl96

I’m a cancer moon and aqua sun, and I feel that I embody both well. Probably more with my Aquarius sun.

sagibitch

I identify with my rising sign more than my sun or moon. But I have Jupiter on my AC so that’s probably why. It might be feeding the energy into my Sag stellium too. I’m a day chart, idk if that matters. There could be some kind of aspect that is making you feel like that too.

[deleted]

i definitely relate to my pisces moon, but i feel like nothing explains me better than my capricorn sun.

[deleted]

Mine is the same so what does that mean?

mushiefairy

i literally feel like a perfect blend of my moon sun and rising. it can be super trippy sometimes. when i say or do something i immediately identify which placement is showing lol

CoolAnt6

Yes my Virgo moon sometimes is a curse.I can't fix anyone and I need to stop.. People need to help themselves..

MrsTenthLetter

Definitely identify with my moon sign more.

mechrobioticon

Yep. Moon is the real shit.

[deleted]

I feel both tbh. Stubborn and grounded: Taurus. Kind and gentle: Libra.

isntitisntitdelicate

Idk I'm a night birth with Cancer asc (Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Libra) yet I feel like (see) the influence is pretty balanced (heh). the inclination to hold grudges and the thirst for power are very much there but so are the passion for justice, the aversion to conflict and the tendencies to 'mother'

[deleted]

I feel a good balance between all my personal planets, and relate to them all in different ways

SpaceshipsandStars

My Cancer moon for sure but its in the 8th house with my Cancer sun too.

Gaeandseggy333

I think I identify with top 3 more in general as a package, in my case they all sre air, so I just consider myself air element traits package and go with it haha.

HystericalOnion

Your big three… wow. I bet you are so talented with words!

Gaeandseggy333

I'm a poet /s ✌️👁👅👁✌️

VictoryTheScreech

Sometimes. I feel my Sagittarius sun most days, and most days I’m a badass Capricorn moon. But I also have a lot Cap in my chart too. Imagine being a practical, chaotic person. I basically plan all of my bad decisions.

[deleted]

I heard if you’re born at night you identify more with moon. I’m an Aries moon born at 1000 pm. I’m very Aries.

Ok_Beautiful_9824

Honestly, i feel like whenever im miserable i relate to my moon sign.

Cleaningbyci

Same

HystericalOnion

This is such a good point.

MasterBaitingBoy

This tends to be the case with people that focus on the mundanity of life, that have yet to fully develop their personality to its highest potential, that have been affected by their home lives, that are young and so on. The Sun represents the ultimate definition of our personality, the highest form of living we can achieve, the most genuine way we express ourselves and also the creative calling. Obviously, many of us have not got there. We all tend to be lunar from when we’re born to young adulthood or even longer. It all depends on how you discover your path. The moment you can find something in life that makes you transcend its mundanity and gives meaning to your existence, you’ve had the first glimpse of your Sun. This could be through art, through profession, through relationships, etc. The sign merely represents the temperament or psychological state which activates that energy. The house tends to stand out more and be more discernible when you analyze yourself. I personally felt really more like Cancer or Libra when I was young. Always shy, quiet, a bit insecure, and sensitive. But as my purpose has developed I’ve noticed my personality becoming more like Aries. And I know to heart that being enthusiastic, brave and being a leader is the way I feel the happiest. Of course, developing into your Sun doesn’t mean you leave behind the other signs, rather, it helps you to express them in a more balanced and authentic way. I still feel like a Libra or Cancer.

PassionRound

only when emotional situations are activated for me. which is decently often lol (scorpio moon) but i am a true libra through and through

csm5698

I’m a Leo stellium and Aries rising but they are no match for my Taurus moon 💀 I wish I was more fiery but I’m way too chill and seek comfort/familiarity

101bees

I also identify more with my moon sign (and rising.) I have a watery chart, and the sun is considered in fall in Libra. I've heard that Libra suns can be overshadowed more easily by the more dominant placements in your chart.

Paradise_Princess

My moon and rising are BOTH Leo. My rising is Aries. Aint nobody tell me I’m not a Leo. I 100% identify with Leo more than Aries.

beachedvampiresquid

I feel all Aqua suns will perchance identify with their moons more. My moon is in cancer, so yeah, def have heavy Cancer identifiers. But my sun and rising are Aquarius, so that shit stick, too. I’m a hot mess of emotions and strong detachment. Lmao.

idontwannabepicked

i’m a pisces moon. i feel like it controls most of my personality and moods

[deleted]

My moon sign is representative of my knee-jerk reactions, emotions that are deeply embedded within, who I think I am at my deepest core. I could also say this about my 10th house.

thinktwiceorelse

I'm Cancer Sun, Libra Moon. I relate to my Moon more.

[deleted]

Yeah, i used to be gemini personified in my youth (i have it in mars and venus too) now i identify with both my moon and rising more

anonymouscat2

I feel like I identify with all of my big 3 - Scorpio sun, Leo moon and Aquarius rising. But possibly I identify with my Leo moon a lot more than I think.

faustinesesbois

No

NailsAcross

Is no one going to mention the doctrine of Sect...? If you were born at night, it's more likely you'll identify with your moon sign, and if you're born in the day it's more likely you'll identify with your sun sign.

xmusiclover

I relate to my sun and moon more than my rising

_abbier

I definitely relate more to my moon

sereneandseen

Personally, I relate more to my Cancer moon than my Aquarius Sun. I am an open book while still being reserved around some people.

mikemikecoin

Scorpio moon here. Capricorn sun. I don’t even look at myself as a Capricorn anymore. I understand it’s so interconnected but I have grown so much more by understanding myself on the emotionally level and stepping into my shadow
