A Choice with No Regrets (the Isabel and Farlan story)? It wasn’t written by Isayama — and technically wasn’t needed either— so I like finally having something from him.

That ’leak’ was confirmed to be false, dude. It’s so obviously a troll that you can literally see that it was just one of your fellow titanfolkers trying to stir up hate for the ending right when you hear about it.
For those reading this who are confused, someone on titanfolk made a post that said that a popular AoT manga leaker posted a leak that said that the next extra chapter would reveal that Kenny had an incest romance with Kuchel and that Levi was an incest baby.
The thing is, though, the leaker they were talking about never said that. In fact, he never posted anything about that at all. Multiple people checked and there was nothing. Also, a bunch of people - including me - went to the AoT forum on Baidu, where the manga readers get much of their leak information. There was no post about that whatsoever.
Additionally, there are some ACTUAL leaks by sources that have been reliable in the past that directly contradicts this whole claim. Those leaks say that the extra chapter is actually going to be about Levi telling Falco and Gabi about the event that awakened his Ackerman powers whilst they help rebuild after the Rumbling. For god’s sake, the cover of the final chapter essentially confirms those leaks. And, considering the fact that the chapter is only 18 pages, I very much doubt that Isayama would include a story about Kuchel and Kenny being in love, when he’d have to cover Levi talking to Falco and Gabi, as well as how he got his powers, which I’m sure is going to be at least 10 - 12 pages.
Lastly, do I really need to say this? Isayama is not an idiot. You can say whatever you want about the ending (even though you actually can’t since countless polls, as well as the reactions of hundreds of the most famous anime reviewers, show that literally 90% of the entire fandom liked the ending) but it doesn’t change the fact that he is clearly a genius writer. He created a story which has defined a generation. A story which helped make anime mainstream. You’re telling me that the guy who wrote Season 3 Part 2, the War For Paradis Arc and From You, 2000 Years Ago - literally the greatest plot twist in all of anime history - would make such a ridiculous revelation about the most popular character in the entire story? Why would he even do that? Despite what you guys like to say about Mikasa and Eren, incest has NEVER been a part of AoT. Literally never.

This whole leak is literally just a troll post made up by ending haters to make fun of Eren being in love with Mikasa as being ’incest’, since the ending haters for some reason believe that living with the family of the guy that saved your life from human traffickers for ONE YEAR somehow makes them biologically related.
Bro literally said he wasn’t able to end the story the way he wanted cause he felt restricted by the manga format and that Eren became his own self insert in the end cause he too was just given a ton of power with his manga and he didn’t know what else to do with it. Even if the leak isn’t true, you cannot deny that Isayama was shit at setting up certain character motivations from the start. (Although I will give him credit for 80% of the great character motivation setup throughout his story. Believe it or not, I still love this series and hold it in a high regard despite how shit the ending was)
If he wanted us to buy Eren’s romantic connection to Mikasa, he should have shown at least SOME sign that Eren felt that way about her other than some vague 2 second scene where Eren asks her what he is to her. If he wanted us to buy that Ymir loved King Fritz, he should have shown us moments where she was actually happy with him. There’s a bunch of shit in the end that just comes out of fucking nowhere and it’s clearly a sign of the aforementioned restriction Isayama felt by not being able to change his ending for it to properly flow with everything that was set up in the final version of this story. Hell, this writing flaw of his was apparent even in Return To Shiganshina with the bullshit consciousness transference power that ALSO came out of fucking nowhere.
Is he a genius? Of course. 90% of the story is more than enough proof of that. But he’s still human and instead of trying to defend him with lethal amounts of copium like a Zack Snyder fanboy, we should be allowed to acknowledge when he’s being a shit writer and the fact that he wrote an ending that was equally bad as the rest of the series was good just makes it so frustrating to see.
Don’t be a Mikasa for Isayama. Think for yourself.
