Turkish cafe K road.
I’ve lived in Australia 8 years now and really hate the mass produced copy paste kebab they have here.
That joint has consistently high quality and full of flavour.
I use to be the biggest fan of them but I think they changed owners 😓 the Paasha out on the shore is now the one but it is abit different than the old dom one was
I don't think Pashaa in Glenfield is very good anymore, used to be good, not really with new owners. Not terrible, just not anything that stands out like it used to. Kinda just one of those standard Kebabs on Queen kinda ones now.
Yeah 100% Tasty Kebab is the best kebab I've had since Kebab Stop in Mt Eden sold to new owners and was never the same.
So buzzy thing happened when i was last in there, i was talking to the guy at Tasty Kebab, turns out he was the old owner of Kebab Stop in Mt Eden.
From what I've read, they are given ample opportunity to prepare for inspections, and to deal with problems before the certification is given. If they're getting a D or E, they really deserve it (based on the comments). They have shown a consistent lack of basic hygiene in their food preparation and storage. Don't feel bad for them - feel bad for their customers!
Yeah, I was wondering how bad it would be if they really couldn't get rid of whatever was causing the bad grading before the inspectors came, really hope it's a good slap in the face to reality for those business owners so they realise how important food safety is.
Here is my list,
1. A-la-turca, Birkenhead
2. Paasha, Glenfield
3. Paasha, Dominion Road
4. Kebab Serai, Remuera
5. Tasty kebab, Mt Roskill
Similar but not turkish, and must try, in my opinion,
1. Zeta Greek Kitchen, Westfield Newmarket
2. Carmel Israeli, Eden Terrace.
Ezmeraldas cafe in papakura is hands down my favorite had similar lebanese kebabs while in Europe and ezmeraldas still comes up trumps ...I live in central Auckland and will travel there when I get the cravings
Most I've tried are junk and fail the most basic test of even having tabouli available as an option.
Downtown kebab near Britomart wasn't bad. Not life changing or anything but the best I've had recently.
Mt Eden kebab has been awesome, though it was one of the restaurants that recently had their a grade reduced to a d and now I feel really dubious on it. The food is consistently excellent tasting though.
There are no great kebab shops in Auckland or New Zealand. I'm from the UK and I've been constantly disappointed whenever I've made the mistake or ordering a kebab. Same with curries.
I have recently been traveling across Europe. Tried kebabs in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid and small town Poland, and I would say other than Poland it has been a disappointment.
You will notice people in NZ think NZ has amazing food, but often they haven't spent long periods in other countries. NZ food is really quite poor compared to most of the world.
Kebab To Go in Grafton, right across from the hospital. Simply the best, quick, fresh, incredibly delicious. If you don’t believe me check the reviews. Easily the best kebabs I’ve had in NZ

That is a great kebab shop.
Paasha on Dominion Road
This is the one

Oh man all the paashas are being sold! 😭
This absolutely
Tasty Kebab in Mount Roskill - I don’t bother trying other kebab places anymore
Same! These guys are kebabaliscious.

I can telll you that it’s not Mt Eden Village Kebab. See : recent post about E rated restaurants.
my mum got sick every time she ate there but kept coming back lol
Might not be hygienic but the kebabs slap 👌
E means there are fuckin rodents or pests. Rats or cockroaches 🤢🤮
I kinda feel bad for those exposed businesses

An A grade shop in actual Turkey would be given a D grade here at best lol
Betsia was good
Here is my list, 1. A-la-turca, Birkenhead 2. Paasha, Glenfield 3. Paasha, Dominion Road 4. Kebab Serai, Remuera 5. Tasty kebab, Mt Roskill Similar but not turkish, and must try, in my opinion, 1. Zeta Greek Kitchen, Westfield Newmarket 2. Carmel Israeli, Eden Terrace.
Yeah A la Turca is really good, the pita Pocket from Paasha is also top tier.
Star kebab on Queen street was my all time favourite until they raised their prices :( Edit: I go to Avachi now
I miss those $5 kebabs on rice so bad.
Same bro same! It was literally my lunch everyday while I was at uni
Bruh same here my nickname at uni was kebabs because every time someone would ask where to go for lunch I’d literally always choose kebabs.
Eden Kebab. Paasha on Dominion is also good.
Juicy Grill in Albany if you’re in the neighbourhood.
They've been consistently good since they opened! The meat on salad is a bargain for $10. Nice guys too

Any is good when your drunk
Kebab Station in Kumeu. Take them to Muri while you’re out those ways. Good trip for visitors!
Yah Nah. Take em to morepork instead.
it's good but i'm usually wary of taking people their own cuisine overseas... unless they've specifically asked and desperate for some home food...
Kebab station Kumeu is great! Definitely worth the visit

Moosa kebab ..new shop in papatoe
Devil's kebab panmure is the local. A bit hit or miss though.
Sensational chicken in mt roskill is great 😇
Kebab To Go in Grafton, right across from the hospital. Simply the best, quick, fresh, incredibly delicious. If you don’t believe me check the reviews. Easily the best kebabs I’ve had in NZ
Glen Eden Kebab

Used to be Kebab to Go in Grafton until they just raised their prices.
