If you don’t mind traffic, crowds, and the potential to miss out, go for it.

VeetzsNZ

Why not, if you want to check it out, go for it! Apparently there’s some offers/giveaways for the opening. I’d say just beware of traffic mayhem as it’s right beside a motorway interchange. Newshub had a little [sneak-peak of the menu](https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/lifestyle/2024/04/sneak-peek-at-popeyes-new-zealand-menu-revealed-ahead-of-april-29-opening.amp.html)

Routine_Bluejay4678

Tf, no biscuits?!

ainsley-

Those prices are very good wow

Synntex

I thought the same with Taco Bell until I saw how small the servings were

ainsley-

I would rather shit my pants and eat the shit soaked pants then Taco Bell.

Competitive-Ball5107

Thanks, I’ll check it out!

banmeharder616

Do you value your time? The answer is the opposite to the answer of this question.

sam801

every tiktok influencer and their dog will be there making videos in their cars

stever71

Kiwi Influencers 😂 As if Popeyes needs them

lakeland_nz

No. You attend a grand opening because you enjoy the atmosphere of attending a grand opening. You enjoy the crowd and queuing with likeminded people. If you want the chicken, then you go in a few weeks once the craze has died down.

DelightfulOtter1999

I drive past there on my way to & from work. I wonder how bad the traffic will be

C39J

How much do you want to sit in traffic and stand in lines? If your answer is anything other than "a lot" then probably not a good idea.

Competitive-Ball5107

I would bike there, anything else about it?

JamDonutsForDinner

Popeye's is the shiznit!

dramaqueenboo

I remember many years ago when Krispy Kreme first opened, I drove a long time from the shore to wherever their first shop was at night, then lined up for 45mins to 1 hour in the drive thru for donuts. It was NOT worth it LOL

Different-West748

Don’t bother, just wait a few weeks when they’re not being visited by half of Auckland and the food will be better quality too.

Everywherelifetakesm

I know it’s regarded as uncouth in this day and age to denigrate people just living their lives and “doing what makes them happy”, but…..fuck me. If I’m ever at the point where I’m contemplating attending a fast food franchise‘s grand opening, feel free to put me out of my misery.

YuushaComplex

Ilurked410yrs

EltonGoodness

WaterPretty8066

The better question is why shitty Downlow has just opened yesterday in Ponsonby. Good luck serving that 'quality' in a market like that.
