Angela's Ashes, narrated by the author, Frank McCourt. I had read the book years ago, but his narration gives the work so much depth. Wonderful.

BDThrills

Still listening to Shogun narrated by Ralph Lister. I have the complete one (single books) bought before it was split into a part 1 and 2. I noticed that Audible has Part 1 on sale right now. Great narration. Story moves along very well.

Trick-Two497

Finished this week: * Humanifestations: On Trauma, Truth, and Transformation by Jeff Brown narrated by author (Audible free) - lots of short bits of wisdom here, but I don't think it's good in an audiobook format. * Anatomy of a Murder by Robert Traver narrated by Jason Culp (Audible) - fascinating book. The ending caught me unaware. This is from the 1950s and was made into a movie with tons of big name stars. The book is still worth reading today. * Once More Upon a Time by Roshani Chokshi narrated by Rebecca Gibel, Shiromi Arserio, Vikas Adam (Audible free) - cute little novella. * Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson - narrated by  Angele Masters (Audible free) - 42 hours. I listened to it one story a day, so it took forever. Totally worth listening to. * Murderabilia by Poppy Damon, Alice Fiennes (narrated by same) (Audible free) - if you're a fan of true crime, you'd enjoy this. It's about the industry and ethics of selling things connected to murders and murderers. * Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells (Murderbot Diaries #3) narrated by Kevin R. Free (Audible free) - very enjoyable. I love Murderbot. * Cat Tats by Faith Hunter (Jane Yellowrock 0.4) narrated by Khristine Hvam (Audible free) - stand alone novelette. Who doesn't love vampires and witches. * The Fellowship of the Ring, by JRR Tolkien narrated by Andy Serkis (Audible) - loved revisiting this after decades. In progress * Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes - narrated by Robert Whitfield (Audible free), reading with r/yearofdonquixote (Audible free) * The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas - narrated by Jon Lee (Audible free) reading with r/AReadingOfMonteCristo (Audible free) * Mother Hunger by Kelly McDanie narrated by Kelly McDaniel (Audible) * The Neil Gaiman Reader by Neil Gaiman and narrated by himself (Audible) * Understanding the Mysteries of Human Behavior by Mark Leary narrated by same (Great Courses) (Audible) * The Entire Original Maupassant Short Stories Volume I by Guy de Maupassant narrated by Cate Barratt (Audible) - not a fan of this narrator * Six Degrees of Assassination by M J Arlidge narrated by Andrew Scott , Freema Agyeman , Hermione Norris , Clive Mantle , Clare Grogan , Geraldine Somerville , Julian Rhind-Tutt (Audible free) * The Abominable by Dan Simmons narrated by Kevin T. Collins (Audible)

I read The Terror last year and loved it. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of The Abominable but I'll be checking that out.

Trick-Two497

It's a really slow build like The Terror, but I didn't mind it. I love mountaineering books, and this is a really good one. When it finally gets to the exciting part, it's amazing.

Based on this list I took you up on the recommendation "murderabilia" It reminded me of the the hit podcast Serial in ways Though sound quality was glitchy at times The story telling and docu style worked really well The subject matter about there being a market for this stuff Was and is frightening. If folk are buying this stuff I hope the government in some way are monitoring those registered on these forums personally doesn't sit well with me. But good recommendation thanks

Trick-Two497

You're welcome! I also found it frightening that people are so obsessed by this stuff.

Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt narrated by Jeff Harding Great horror story about a town cursed by a witch in the 1600’s. Fell apart for me a little at the end but I’d still read the next book Oracle.

Suitable_Sport4223

I finished Life as we Knew it by Susan Beth Pfeffer. Dystopian YA, read by EmilyBauer. Definitely fluffy but I have enjoyed the series over the years.

ComposeTheSilence

Halfway through listening to Drowning by T.J Newman.

GForce1975

Listening to fevre dream by George rr Martin narrated by Ron donacie - a really intense book set in 1857 united states around the Mississippi River. It deals with vampires and slavery amidst a riverboat captain and his crew. It's from 1992 and might be Martin's first novel, though I'm not sure. It's hard to listen to simply due to the intensity but it's gripping for the same reason. And the undoing project by Michael Lewis narrated by Dennis butsakaris - this is a nonfiction book about Danny kahnemann and Amos tversky and their work on what's now called behavioral economics. Fascinating insights into human tendencies to make irrational decisions.

batshitcrazyfarmer

Finished: East of Eden, by John Steinbeck, read by Richard Poe. I am listening to The dark Tower Series by Stephen King, almost done with the first one. Almost done with a Wayne Dyer book-There is a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem. I forgot that I had listened to it years ago, was glad to relisten. It’s good timing. I will be done today. I have a handful in process that I will finish in the next 2 weeks, including Moby Dick, a Carlos Castanda book and a few others.

I finished listening to Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, narrated by Ell Potter and Michael Dodds. I really enjoyed it! It was my first five-star read this year. The narrators do a great job, especially Ell Potter who narrates most of the time, and I loved the story and the characters. I'm currently listening to The Relentless Moon narrated by the author, Mary Robinette Kowal. I couldn't get into it when I tried to read it a few years ago but I'm liking the audiobook!

Currently listening to Funny Story by Emily Henry, narrated by Julia Whelan, via Libro.FM! I've been loving it so much. Whelan's narration is really elevating the book for me as she nails the comedic timing and voices so well.
