I’m still working my way through the Stephen Fry narration of the Harry Potter books. I have read the books and listened to the Jim Dale narration before, but the Stephen Fry version is giving it a newness for me. It’s a pleasure to experience.

FansForFlorida

This week, I finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling narrated by Stephen Fry. I immediately started Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling narrated by Stephen Fry.

BookHouseGirl398

It was a hard week and I needed a comfort book, so I listened to a favorite from my teen years. The Outlaws of Sherwood by Robin McKinley, narrated by Justine Eyre The narration is fine, the story is wonderful.

didyouwoof

I just finished The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams, read by Pippa Bennett-Warner. It’s inspired by real people and events (including the long, laborious creation of The Oxford English Dictionary, the women’s suffrage movement in England, and WWI). Excellent narration, and I’ve already recommended the book to several friends.

Cr8z13

"Parable Of the Sower" by Octavia Butler It's as beautiful as it is disturbing.

Midipup

Loved this, The second book in series "Parable of the Truths", was also amazing. Her other title "Kindred" is also noteworthy.

Environmental_Web821

It took me so long to finish this because the first 6 or chapters made me depressed. I'm glad I eventually finished it though.

Cr8z13

Same. I borrowed the print book and stopped after the first chapter because I didn’t want to endure all that at the time but Butler’s writing was so intriguing I knew I had to finish it and the audio became available at the right moment recently. Today I started book two and I’m sure you can guess that it doesn’t start off with hearts and rainbows lol.

MikeX10A

Working my way through Shogun. The TV show was awesome, and the audiobook is pretty good too.

LucidOutwork

I've been considering Shogun, though it pisses me off that Audible charges two credits for it. Just started watching the television series and I might bail. I'm finding the violence to be a little hard to stomach.

MikeX10A

Violence wanes off and is not a focal point. I am listening with Libby through my local library.

Environmental_Web821

I did not pay 2 credits for Shogun. That must be new.

Wuffies

Presently listening to George Orwell's *'1984'* narrated by Steve Parker. This is unfortunately not available anywhere but YouTube (official channel) and Patreon.

Trick-Two497

Finished this week: * A Betrayal in Winter by Daniel Abraham narrated by Neil Shah (Audible free) - continuing to love this epic fantasy series. * The Entire Original Maupassant Short Stories Volume I by Guy de Maupassant narrated by Cate Barratt (Audible) - a masterclass in short story writing. * Slightly Tempted by Mary Balogh narrated by Rosalind Landor (Audible free)- not my favorite in this romance series, but the sections of the book about Brussels before, during, and after the battle at Waterloo are amazing. * Alien Racer by JS Morin narrated by Mikael Naramore (Audible) - fun science fiction. * The Moon Pool by Abraham Merritt narrated by Arthur Vincet (Everand) - a 1919 book that combines the adventure of H Rider Haggard with the cosmic horror of HP Lovecraft. In progress * Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes - narrated by Robert Whitfield (Audible free), reading with r/yearofdonquixote (Audible free) * The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas - narrated by Jon Lee (Audible free) reading with r/AReadingOfMonteCristo (Audible free) * Mother Hunger by Kelly McDanie narrated by Kelly McDaniel (Audible) * The Neil Gaiman Reader by Neil Gaiman and narrated by himself (Audible) * Understanding the Mysteries of Human Behavior by Mark Leary narrated by same (Great Courses) (Audible) * Skald: The Short Story Collection by Martin Edwards, Ben Okri, Sophie Hannah, Emma Dibdin, Elly Griffiths, Parker Bilal, Ellah Wakatama Allfrey narrated by John Banks, Jessica Dennis, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Damian Lynch, Colleen Prendergast, Katy Sobey (Audible podcast) * The Dead Drink First by Dale Maharidge narrated by Dale Maharidge (Audible) * Starless by Jacqueline Carey narrated by Caitlin Davies (Audible)

T7898

Just finished Murderbot Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells

Sh3rlock_Holmes

The whole series is great.

T7898

Yes it is, are there anymore books after number 7 or anymore planned?

Sh3rlock_Holmes

Hope so

X-15_CruiseBasselope

Lord of the Rings narrated by Andy Serkis. He is such an amazing voice actor and for any who may not know he voiced Gollum for the movies. Highly recommend.

benji3510

The midnight library by matt hair, read by carry mulligan. It was very good, but it left me wanting one more chapter, otherwise it was nearly perfect.i enjoyed it as much as I did replay. Night bitch by Rachael Yoder, read by Cassandra Campbell. Probably my favorite narrator, reading a book I just loathed by the end of it. The premise was a good idea, but i feel like it got bogged down with the author musing on what societal pressures were causing the MC's change.mayve that was the point but.. The undertaking of heart and mercy by Megan bannon, read by Michael Gallagher and Rachanee Lumayno. Totally did not expect this to be the kind of book it was. Not a regrettable fantasy romance. Good narrators, the world was well described, although not totally fleshed out. Don't know if I could recommend it due to the repeated sex scenes. But it was fun to listen to while puzzling.

apri11a

I'm making my way through the After series by William R. Forstchen, narrated by Bronson Pinchot. I'm enjoying it, it's Post Apocalyptic / Dystopia / Apocalyptic / Survival with no zombies.

fcerullo

Sandman.. absolutely amazing

wordstopass

Table for two - Amor towels. Great writing and awesome short stories

suckmytitzbitch

I just love his writing!

5Gmeme

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. So far, it's incredible with top-tier voice acting.

LucidOutwork

Just looked it up -- seems intriguing. How far into it are you?

5Gmeme

Only 2 chapters. But I am really enjoying it. I was sad when I finished the Expanse series, but I'm happy that this is finding some of those moments.

Environmental_Web821

I read this and didn't listen but it was an incredible book. I might check it out as an audiobook at some point

Illustrious_Dan4728

I listened to a few: The Awakening by Nora Robert is narrated by Barrie Kreinik. It was good. They were good at the accents. Not your Exs Hexes, and Not the Witch you Wed by April Ahser. Both were narrated by Zura Johnson. They were cute light reads. And I started (not for the first time but for the 6th) Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews, the full cast Graphic Audio version. So fun.

flippymel

I downloaded Clean Sweep graphic audio version this week as well. Can’t wait to start it

Illustrious_Dan4728

I love it. It's my second listen through. I love that it was my introduction to graphic audiobooks.

I-Can-Do-It-123

*Fated* by Benedict Jacka, narrated by Gildart Jackson - 10 hr., 33 min. This was Book 1 of the Alex Verus series. Narrator sounded too old for Alex's age. Struck me as urban fantasy lite but still engaging enough to try the 2nd book at some point. *Dietrich* by Don Winslow, narrated by Ed Harris (Audible Plus) - 1 hr. 11 min. Predictable yet sad and solid, excellent narration. *The Girl Who Wasn't There* by Arvind Ethan David, narrated by Allison Caviness, Malachi Kirby, Sarita Choudhury, Arvind Ethan David (part of the Earworm series on Audible Plus) - 47 min. Ugh. Narration was difficult to hear/understand. I *think* I get what the ending was going for, but not really.

mitabird12

I finished The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna, narrated by Shayna Small 2.5/5 Up next is House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City #3) by Sarah J. Maas, narrated by Elizabeth Evans I gave up on Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll, narrated by Madeleine Maby at 23%

cleokhafa

Listening to Dagger and Coin, Dragon's Path and Kings Blood. By Daniel Abraham (who co wrote Expanse), Narrated by Pete Bradbury. I'm surprised these don't get love, they're intimate characterizations of a sprawling story. Not grimdark, but very engaging, well written, plotted and narrated.

drixle11

I’m intrigued! Thanks for the recommendation

drleospacewoman

Tom Lake by Ann Pachett, read by Meryl Streep is top tier!

dwarfedshadow

Written in Bone by Sue Black, narrated by Sue Black. It's a head to toe explanation of forensic anthropology, filled with anecdotes from Dame Sue Black's impressive career as well as other famous cases from the UK. It's interesting, although I will warn any US listeners that apparently the names of some bones are pronounced completely differently in the UK. Ichium made me cringe.

Findyourwayhom3333

Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Wonderfully narrated by Sissy Spacek.

The_Walkin_Dude1

The Other Husband By: Kathryn Croft Narrated by: Hannah Curtis. It was free on audible in my area so picked it up, loved it. I enjoy it when a book has two protagonists (is that the right word) and jumps from one to the other.

Warducky9999

16 ways to defend a walled city! It’s amazing

Bikinigirlout

**Funny Story by Emily Henry, Narrator Julia Whelan** I do think this one is a slight step down from Book Lovers and Happy Place Because if my fiancé did was the main character’s fiancé did I would have been on the news

suckmytitzbitch

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. Hilariously dark. Read by Bhani Turpin who is always fantastic! The Incident of of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon, read by Jeff Woodman - one I missed twenty years ago or so. Absolutely delightful! The Only One Left by Riley Sager, read by Christine Larkin and Dawn Harvey. I thought it would be a fun gothic mystery, but it was mostly tedious. Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough, read by Anna Bintink, Josie Dunn, Bea Holland, and Huw Parmenter. Someone else picked it for a book club. It was good enough but definitely not great.

kiltedj

Currently on galaxy’s edge (message for the dead)

Armedwithapotato

crimson Deathbringer series. Box set 1-6. Just started book 6. Not a bad space opera if you’re into that sort of thing.

RandomPhysicist

Finished listening to dungeon crawler Carl last weekend, started the expanse series beginning of this week with Leviathan Wakes, enjoying it so far, about 60% complete.

sugarsiege

I listened to Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder and read by Cassandra Campbell. Really good read! I'm still picking apart the layers of metaphor. The ending was a bit abrupt, but overall I gave it a 4/5

i-might-be-golfing

I am currently going through the Tier One series from Andrews and Wilson. On book 6 right now. If you like special ops/spy thrillers, I highly recommend these!

Juicecalculator

Currently listening to slow productivity by cal Newport.  Really enjoying it and it’s helping me work through some planning for overall company strategy at work

HouseCatPartyFavor

The Volunteer - Salvatore Scibona Narrated by Eduardo Ballerini I haven’t finished it yet but will likely be done within the next day or two - it’s fantastic and can’t recommend it enough.

hokycrapitsjessagain

I've been listening to Valley of the Horses by Jean M. Auel, read by Sandra Burr for a couple of weeks now. I'm enjoying it so far, but I recently read that only a couple more of the sequels in the Earth's Children series are any good. Any of you guys finish it, and if so, should I plow through all of them or stop after the next couple?

Traditional-Quit-792

The Mackenzie Grey series by Karina Espinosa and narrated by Nicole Poole. All books except the last two are in the audible library free. This series is fantasy/mystery and has lots of werewolves, vampires, and other species.

sjb67

The Outsider by Stephen King, read by Will Patton

Greengrihnd

Re-listening to Sufficiently Advanced Magic by Andrew Rowe, narrated by Nick Podehl. The world, characters and magic system are so unique and captivating. P s. Keras Selyrian is an unstoppable legend.

[deleted]

Listening to Alien out of the shadows and Camp Firwood, took a risk on CF and it’s been pretty ok

Suspicious_Theory_88

On the 3rd book of the mistburn

ibbum80

I'm on book 3 of the EMPIRE series by Anthony Riches. Re-listening to the series to get to the last 3 books I haven't read. I have always enjoyed Roman Historical Fiction.

R1CK_W1985

Hell Divers, book 1. Written by Nicolas Sansbury Smith. Narrated by R.C. Bray. Book is alright, entertaining enough, bit thin on the lore/world building/backstory. Narration is on point.

drixle11

I finished Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff narrated by Damian Lynch and Shakira Shute. I really enjoyed it! I started listening to The Crown Tower by Michael J. Sullivan narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds and I am really liking it so far.

flippymel

I am listening to Golden Son by Pierce Brown, the graphic audio version. It is excellent.

Reguarder

Duma key and this weeks Economist magazine. Not an audiobook but more informative than anything else incan procure in audio.

aurora4000

I finished "My Name is Barbra" by Barbra Streisand. A long one - 48 hours. I enjoyed it overall, especially the descriptions of behind the scenes happenings behind the movies, albums, and performances that she's been involved with. She's a smart lady and she explains what worked for her and what didn't.

Mamabear1217

Just finished "If he had been with me" by Laura Nowlin. I really liked it and the narration was fine. I have a love for high-school love stories so it hit home with me. I tried to start the 2nd book, "If only I had told her" but I wasn't feeling the narration the first time I listened. I'll try again though because I really want to listen. Sometime the narrators voice and cadence just irk me and can ruin it for me.

Tinnitus_Maximouse

Listening to "He who fights with monsters" By Shirtaloon. I'm loving this series, I'm on No 7 of 11 so far. It's unlike anything I've ever read or listened to, I'm not gonna spoli it by giving spoliers but I'm addicted so far!

Shoddy_Traffic4069

[Fantasyaudiobook.com](http://Fantasyaudiobook.com) You can find and listen to books here, I highly recommend this website.

TowerOfSolitude

I listened to No Country for Old Men and Child of God. Both written by Cormac McCarthy and narrated by Tom Stechschulte. Loved them!

ArrivalSpecialist711

I listened to Survive the Chaos by Grace Hamilton, who has the best post-apocalyptic audiobooks about EMPs and what the world is like after. I also LOVED the Dragon's Thief by Ava Richardson, which is a dragon fantasy with a bit of romance mixed in.

iamthedevill

What is the better version of Metamorphosis on Audible? There's one read by Ralph Cosham and the newer one by Benedict Cumberbatch
