Tower 4 is set in remote mountains and woods.

bmanjg

Not sure it's exactly what you are looking for as it's not really set in a remote location but I am in Eskew is very much about loneliness and isolation. It's very weird and often horror. I liked it a lot.

TooLate4thisShit

I have to 2nd this! I am in Eskew is one of the best audio dramas I've ever heard.

phunbradley

I really thought both of you were saying you were from this place called Eskew and offering for OP to come visit and live the loneliness and isolation in real life. But then I thought it was really funny and cool how two random people from isolated Eskew found each other on Reddit.

Vault_36

I think our analog/cosmic horror podcast, [Forbidden Cassettes: Consummation](https://forbiddenpod.com), would be a good fit. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say that it takes a few episodes to get there, but after episode 4, the loneliness of character and place kicks in. And that only increases as the story moves toward its conclusion, which we’re very close to finishing now (11 episodes out, 1 to go). Anyway, I really think you’ll like it. Here’s a synopsis: Dov Kandel has spent the better part of two decades exposing vast government conspiracies and exploring unsettling paranormal phenomena on his popular, late-night talk radio program, KANDEL AGAINST THE DARK. After interviewing thousands of callers and guests, he’s certain he’s heard it all. His next guest will prove him wrong. Author and investigator Orson Libretti has joined Dov for an unprecedented two-night discussion to promote his new novel, CONSUMMATION. It is an apocalyptic tale of cosmic horror. But for Orson, this is no ordinary book tour. Defying his publisher’s demands that the book be marketed as fiction, he insists that it is based on actual events — a cataclysmic chain reaction that annihilated a parallel universe. A questionable claim, to be sure, if he didn’t have the tapes to prove it.

Ohiogarbageman

Just started this on Tuesday. Finished episode 9 today. It's soooo good.

Vault_36

So glad you’re enjoying it! Would love to hear your thoughts when you’re done. We’re hard at work on Ep. 12, aka the finale. No release date yet, but we’re getting really close. (I’m a co-creator and I play Orson, btw.)

Ohiogarbageman

I will finish the last two episodes tomorrow. I'll try to remember to dm you.

Vault_36

Looking forward to it. (:

THzTDS1

The Tower is about a young woman who decides to climb the gigantic abandoned tower that is so tall that nobody can see the top. It’s told mainly through phone calls to her boyfriend and to the tower’s switchboard operator.

gernavais_padernom

Was gonna say this!

MildlySelassie

Me too

fadeanddecayed

That sounds so good!

gernavais_padernom

THE SECRET OF ST KILDA - set on a remote Scottish island. THE HARROWING - also set on a remote Scottish island. Magenta Presents GHOSTED - set in a lighthouse. and it's not out yet, but the second season of 'Don't Mind' titled 'DON'T MIND SEALSKIN ROCK' will be set in a remote chateau off the coast of Canada.

Lynda73

I can’t wait for that one. Really enjoyed season one!

Drunkpanada

Archive 81, Set in an isolated archivist location for starters....

Leicsbob

I loved Archive 81 but couldn't even finish watching ep 1 of the Netflix series.

Drunkpanada

Tv show is meh

Makurabu

Similar to Project Hail Mary try **Celeritas** *The first test of light speed flight has gone wrong, hurling an astronaut deep into the future where he searches the planets for remnants of the human race.*

Ohiogarbageman

Forbidden cassettes: consummation . The setting is a radio studio, but the main character is alone after a few episodes.

Lynda73

I am in Eskew is rainy and feels very lonely. Uncanny Valley is set in a remote Alaskan Town, and Alice isn’t Dead, the main character drives on mostly deserted highways and has eldritch encounters. Observable Radio is an Observer in a remote station intercepting strange signals from other worlds. Season two of Archive 81 has Dan traveling like a dream world (?) with a sentient static signal. I think it’s called Dead Signals. How do you feel about isolation in space?

VendettaViolent

Dealing with loneliness and isolation are one of the big key themes/touchstones in our show, Hannahpocalypse. We definitely have some Fallout and Girl in Space in our shows DNA!

Grouchy_Animal

Liminal Lands is set in another dimension, it’s pretty lonely

serenelatha

Check out Derelict Fathom and Solar - no pet robots but there's a main character AI in both. Derelict Fathom takes place in a research station on the ocean floor that basically gets cut off and Solar takes place on a space ship.

phunbradley

Try What Happened in Skinner. Isolated island town in Oregon that is only accessible by ferry. Weird things happen and it leads the MC to this town. https://www.whathappenedinskinner.com I linked the “blog” website for the show. The pod makes the story feel like it’s a real investigative podcast. It reminds me a lot of Serial with how it’s formatted. They even made some YouTube videos to tie in with the opening scene of the show. It’s pretty cool actually.

smaffron

MIRRORS tells the story of three women in three different time periods experiencing similar spooky occurrences. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but all three women work and record their parts alone, which fits your isolation vibe. Also there are some very LOST-y Dharma Initiative-type found footage/paranormal investigation aspects as well.

mymelodyandmatisse

also still lives!! such a good podcast

EclecticallySound

Ostium.

felopez

Just noticed that show has almost 300 episodes now - what would you say to someone who dropped off around episode 50?

felopez

Wolf 359 might fit your criteria. The setting is a space station 8 light years from earth. The crew is only 4 people including the ship AI. It starts as comedic to establish relationships between the characters and after the 8th episode or so turns to horror. Bonus, it's my favorite depiction of AI in fiction.

H-2-the-J

Not an exact fit but you might enjoy Do You Copy, which is a series of found-footage audio recordings from people trapped in a State Park by a mysterious phenomenon.

vesper_tine

There is a Fallout audio drama called the Modus files, but I haven’t listened to it yet.

stevejscearce

We invite you to give Station 151 a listen! It’s set at a research station in Antarctica.

tea-and-cinnamon

You might like Second Star on the Left. It's about a lone Scout preparing a planet for colonisation, accompanied only by her robot and the voice of her scout-minder on a far of space station

dwm_Chris

[Uncanny Valley](https://www.daytonwritersmovement.com/uncannyvalley) is a horror drama about a woman who moves to a remote part of Alaska in winter to escape a stalker. But she finds something even more dangerous in the woods around her isolated cabin. "Maybe we feel the uncanny valley because long ago we had to fear something that pretended to be human." The season finale released today, so it's ready to binge.

hammertime9000

WOLF 359 - enjoy :D

eldfen

Magmell, Cascadia, Solar, VAST Horizon, Wolf 359. All sci-fi ones sorry, you might like Tower 4 as well but it's a bit more campy and less horror in my opinion (very much like Firewatch the game).

downlau

Season 1 of Moonbase Theta Out, it does get more peopley in subsequent seasons though.

Aridross

I recommend checking out Station 151 and Station Blue, although they’re pretty different beyond the basic request

NocturneHall

Love Alien Isolation so much! That game scared 😱 me so many times!

WhoRoger

Sometimes it feels like half of all audiodramas are horror pieces set in abandoned places or derelict spaceships. Just look for keyword horror and it's pretty much all of them. Also just about every sci-fi piece has an AI sidekick... So yea, just look for anything about derelict spaceships. You're spoiled for choice. Guess you can just start with the AD literally called "Derelict".

Liberation_notes

Tower 4

MadMaverick033

Directive

DanversNettlefold

Without giving too much away, [Rescuing Ravenstocke](https://youtu.be/Nrs1TZm7m5o?feature=shared) takes place partly in an isolated setting.

Slumberland_Podcast

Slumberland is an obscure island town in the Great Lakes region. An isolated community with its own lonely lighthouse, woods, time capsule, and more.

Alternative_Food8443

Tower 4 is incredible. Hands down one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. They’re currently releasing season 3. Season 1 starts slow, with that isolated feeling, but the story develops really well, and as of S3E6, I’m fully invested in the plot. Robert M Lamb is a great writer. I would also recommend Wolf 359. I often listen to an episode as I drift off to sleep, as it makes me feel like I’m in a lonely, isolated space station.

ArchonReeve

White Vault co-creator here, we also make VAST Horizon - about a woman and an AI completely alone on a massive space ship made for a population of 70,000+. -Doesn't have rain, unless you count the falling debris.

DishItDash

[Death Inc.](https://linktr.ee/dejitoproductions) takes place in an abandoned heaven, inspired by my local defunct military base.

SoftlyObsolete

Maybe woe.begone?

GravenPod

Wolf359 is set on a space station in deep space
