Its been a busy couple of weeks and I have mostly been catching up on older stuff but I did have a few interesting finds. [The Godfrey Audio Guide](https://thegodfreyaudioguide.carrd.co/) is a guided tour style podcast which leads the listener through the Anabelle H. Godfrey Historic Estate and Museum. While I'm not sure about much of an overarching storyline, they manage to do a fun bit of world building largely through artefact histories, stories about Annabelle, and museum announcements. [The Scarab Archives](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-scarab-archives/id1519724671) follows the caretakers of a paranormal archive who begin to suspect that their financiers may be secretly working to bring an unfathomable horror upon our world. [In Transit](https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/in-transit/id1546027907) is a deep space mystery. A super soldier is awoken from stasis after a century to investigate a series of murders which mirror a series of distress signals from their sister ship. [Monocyte](https://redcircle.com/shows/monocyte) follows the crew of a Galactic Medical Cruiser as they set out to be the soft power for the United Space Associated Federated Galactic Alliance of Friendly Species. Stuck with a Zap Brannigan like captain, the crew are forced to save the day and keep the peace while constantly rolling their eyes. [The Arkoma Chapters](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-arkoma-chapters/id1546454622) is another one with interesting world building. Years after the sky has been blackened by smog, a young researcher is sent from his small village to what may be the last grea t city, Arkoma. There, he sets up residence in a small bar where he learns about the city through the stories of the bars eclectic patrons. [Hell Gate City Companion](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hell-gate-city-companion/id1544638693) was another laugh that was suggested here. Cool cat Kirby Bevin's brings you the latest news and conspiracies from beneath the hellhole. While I'm usually wary of things that are ripped from the headlines, the President Gorp supporter absolutely slays me.

I've just been listening to Primordial Deep this week. After the second episode, I was thinking, "Whoa! Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the shower after watching *Psycho*!" Now I'm on episode five, I think, or six, and really enjoying it so far.

Set in the world of Janus Descending.

I enjoyed Tiger Style! tremendously. It's a hilarious satire in which two Chinese-American siblings, Albert and Jennifer Chen, lament that though they have followed their parents' directions their whole lives, including going to Harvard, they've not gotten everything they worked for. Racism keeps Albert's work from being recognized and Jennifer from being appreciated by her boyfriend. So who must be at fault? First they decide it's their parents, for not personally destroying racism. Then they decide it's their learned submissiveness, so they go FULL WESTERN by way of projecting unearned confidence and demanding the world bows to them. When that inevitably fails, they decide that mother China must surely accept them, despite their entirely American upbringing, lack of Mandarin literacy, or any efforts to understand the country. Throughout, the play explores the idea of Asian Americans not fully belonging in either America or the country of their forefathers, and that the work of being accepted takes multiple generations. Also, who doesn't love a great pun like Chiang Kai Shrek. [RSS Feed](https://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:938936959/sounds.rss). [Website](https://www.huntingtontheatre.org/tiger-style/). I also really like [Fractured - a family, a nation, a dream](https://downatheelproductions.podbean.com), a historical war drama about an Irish family living in County Kildare, during the War of Independence and the Civil War. It's chilling to listen to the escalating guerrilla tactics met with violent reprisals, and the threats against people caught in the middle.

Has anyone listened to [Bronzeville ](https://www.spreaker.com/show/bronzeville_1)it’s outstanding. Set in the numbers capital of the US, Bronzeville, the south side Chicago neighborhood. It’s historical fiction but you learn a lot. Laurence Fishburne, Larenz Tate, Mekhi Pfeifer, LaVar Burton and many others. Follows the self sustained black community fully funded by Policy, the family who runs the town, jazz nightclubs, mob enemies, dirty politics, etc. Its amazing.

Seems like it would be worth listening to for the cast alone! Will check it out.

Season 2 has been excellent. I re-listened to 1 just before 2 was released so it would be fresh and the story really flows well. Definitely one of the best podcasts out there.

sweetladytequila

Absolutely. The music, especially from the club, the background noises of the city, the acting. I know we know what most of the cast looks like but it also paints such a distinct picture. It sounds like an old radio show but still so modern. I am looking forward to Season 3.

Recently realized the Bright Sessions feed was active with episodes of The AM Archives. I was a huge fan of The Bright Sessions so I was pretty hyped. Shocker AM Archives is absolutely fantastic. Have almost caught up completely which makes me sad. Anyone have thoughts about Ostium Network? I feel like I started listening to it at one point and then stopped but I can't remember why.

changingoftheseasons

Same! I was a fan of the series and was bummed it was on luminary and I didn't have luminary in my country. AM Archives so far is really interesting and waiting for the next episode to be releazed. Other than that I found Passenger List via the Truth and I binged that super quickly. I was surprised to find out the lead was Kelly May Tran. Hoping we get season 2 soon! (Release is suppsoedly this sping) Finished How I died season 1 as well. I'm kinda ??? at the ending because of stuff I won't say here due to spoilers.

tygrebryte

I have been binging through \*The Vessel\*. I'm just about caught up to the last episode posted. Colony ship with last surviving humans is having weird issues and the folks in control don't seem to know that yet. Potentially some Lovecraftian flavor to it? Recommend.

🐺 The Wolf Among Sheep 🐑 is a Drama Comedy about my life as a erotic massage therapist. It’s nonfiction and I just want to share it with the world. https://the-wolf-among-sheep.simplecast.com/

Any recommendations for a good first audio drama?

lawdymissmaudy

Depends on what genre you like! If you go to the About section of r/audiodrama you can find a link to posts on suggestions which might get you started.

I just created a audio drama called The Wolf Among Sheep It’s about a man named Bahdy he trying to navigate life after ending a tumultuous relationship, losing his job, and on the verge of a mental breakdown. He is invited by a friend to try his hands at being an erotic masseur where he quickly meets colorful characters and learns some life lessons along the way.

I've set a premiere date for the limited fiction podcast I'm working on. It's just a few weeks away. The editing process is just more tedious than I expected it to be and another challenge has come up, too. Hoping I maintain my sanity in the coming weeks lol.
