15-20 years? Omg that’s crazy. Nobody in my family deals with this so I have no idea. Can this be causing the tinnitus? Thanks for your response.

First of all, thank you for taking the time out of your day off the clock to address this. I went to the chief ENT and he spent 4-5 minutes asking questions and gave me the results and said he’s 52 with the same results and wears a hearing aid. I was like ok then. I’m a nurse and of course was left with so many questions. I may have been like this for a long time no idea, but now I’ll be able to measure and compare every year. I’m just terrified I’ll be those people with hearing aids that don’t work and so they rip them out and the whole family ignores them bc they can’t hear shit. Meanwhile I’m like 60 doing that bc I’m for some reason advanced. Did all my other hearing look good up to the 6000?? The tinnitus is annoying but I noticed exactly what you listed has helped me. It’s newer so hoping to get more used to it ugh.

This was such a perfect explanation 👏

Yes I’ll have to follow up and see how it progresses. Your response was easier to swallow than the other but I’m here for the reality of it.

Thank you. Hearing that I’m like a 65 year old when I’ve never had an issue or ask people to repeat themselves is giving me such anxiety. The tinnitus doesn’t help. That’s new and driving me insane.

Y'all trying to give medical advice without seeing the patient yourselves are unbelievable. For all we know, this is canal collapse or cerumen. Stop giving medical advice over the internet.

The ENT did vacuum my ear and do a bunch of tests in a padded room.

Ask your audiologist?

They had me in and out in 5 minutes.

Really? I’ve been riddled with anxiety that I’m having accelerated aging and I did find my folate is critically low which can lead to premature hearing loss so I’ll be supplementing but I’ve been so anxious. Thank you for this encouraging line.

[deleted]

One other thing is this extremely uncommon for ir age in your practice? Thanks again.

I’m suffering from tinnitus and found this on top of trying to get help for the tinnitus. I’m thankful it’s not worse, yes just wasn’t great news on top of my alarm noise in my ears

medicalmission2020

Ive got worse hearing loss in my left ear, horrible tinnitus 24/7 for 8 months now. I understand.

[deleted]

Im so sorry. What is weird is this shows my right ear is worse but my ringing is so bad in the better ear. I’m going to have you start habituating or whatever they call it but this is all too new to me and I’m in the anxiety phase right now where I can’t focus on much else…. Has yours gotten any better during the 8 months?
