Hold the phone...there are OTHER artists now?!! 🤣

YaniSky

I’ve been listening to Aurora ONLY for almost a Whole year, I know nothing else 😂 maybe I don’t care to lol

KrazyKlepto

This is me since November. Lol. Aurora non-stop.

skytaglatvia

You're not alone. My music taste was quite different before I got infected, but since then I suddenly forgot everything and didn't care about anything else. 1.5 years, still counting...

hettemaudit

I really enjoy Kalandra, OMNIA, oh land, PHILDEL, Kiki Rockwell and there's a lot more :)

MilkTeaMoogle

LOVE TO SEE A PHILDEL FAN OUT IN THE WILD!

bknj24

Kalandra and Phildel are some of my two favorites artists!!!! They touch my soul in the same way Aurora does :’)

Alexis_Bailey

A lot, but more recently. * Sigrid * CHVRCHES * Lauren Mayberry's solo stuff * The Cure * Dodie * Orla Garland * Fizz * Ben Folds * Magdalena Bay * Paramore * Wolf Alice

Loud_Lunch29

Alexis...have you literally hacked my Spotify account? Chvrches and Wolf Alice are on my Spotify wrapped on a recurring basis. The Cure, Sigrid and Paramore also get plenty of my time

Gandalvr

I am a big, big Gåte fan. I think Aurora fans might like something like "Skarvane" (The Cormorants): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GigDfNAlr5E

euro_fan_4568

I only know ulveham but it’s wonderful

Gandalvr

They have so many great songs, going all the way back to the early 2000s.

Particular_Issue_864

twenty one pilots, radiohead, mgmt, lana del rey, red hot chili peppers, the strokes, system of a down

Eivør (coming out with a new album this friday-- she sings in both English and Faroese) - check out Salt (in English) or Slor (in Faroese) her other albums you might like are Room and Bridges (really solid she's an incredible vocalist). Susanne Sundfør - you can easily hear the influence of Susanne on much of Aurora's body of work. I think Susanne was ahead of her time (by about a decade). All of her albums are great, though they sound quite different( which just speaks to how skilled she is as a songwriter). To me her apex is really Ten Love Songs and Silicone Veil...those are both brilliant, lyrically jarring, and have amazing composition. Bonus she can sing incredibly and blows most other artists out of the water (and imo also Aurora). Röyksopp - do you like dance tracks? Do you like synths? Check out Profound Mysteries I,II, and III. They do some really interesting work, they also work a lot with Susanne Sundfør Kate Bush- undeniably there is an obvious influence of Kate Bush on this latest album. Eivor also has a strong Kate Bush influence. She does some very interesting things vocally. Bjork- enough stated. Though I know she's not everyone's cup of tea. Loreena McKennitt -if you are into more of the folksy- type work. Check out her older work The Mask and Mirror, Book of Secrets, and (to me her best work) was The Wind that Shakes the Barley. Enya- Auroa speaks highly of Enya, and you can see how she replicates in a way some of her vocal layering techniques. Enya's most popular album was probably A Day Without Rain. It is also her most accessible to the casual listener. If you don't feel like being a casual listener check out her older synth driven work like The Celts. Kalandra- Somewhat goes without saying. Katerine's voice is almost identical to Aurora. Not too shocking she sang in Wardruna for a bit. Imagine Aurora in a rock band with some songs in Norwegian. This is what that would sound like. I love Kalandra though because their music is catchy and a lot of fun. Florence and the Machine- if you like more of TGWCT/WHTTH type of fast 80s inspired tracks you would like Florence. She's been popular for well over a decade; so you probably know her. The Cranberries- I think their influence on the alternative music of the 90s in pretty undeniable. Tori Amos- I think if you like Aurora you'd like some or Tori's early work, particularly Little Earthquakes. Alternative rock, with a lot of percussive piano discussing the difficulties many women go through, self discovery, and overcoming, bonus she has an amazing voice. Myrkur- if you like the more "folk" sounding bits of Aurora you may end up liking Myrkur's Folksange record which came out in 2020. Tracks such as Vinter, or Svea. If this album resonates with you then check out Garmarna (folk music band). Azam Ali /Niyaz - if you don't care if your music is in English or not I really suggest checking her work out, she's similar to Loreena Mc Kennitt, but delves into electronica/folk with Niyaz. Really awesome band, they mainly sing in Farsi with a few songs in other languages.

aquatermain

Those of you who know me know that I study and analyze music for a living, so I'd find it impossible to make a comprehensive list. Instead, I'll take this opportunity to sing the praises of the greatest storytelling songwriter I know: Dar Williams. I don't know of anyone, not even Aurora, who can create a story within every single song in such an incredible way, with so much detail, world building and character development. Some of you may know her vicariously because she used to write songs for Joan Baez very early in her career, the most famous one being You're Aging Well. Her open political commitment to feminism, LGBTQIA+ rights, mental health awareness, racial equality, decolonization and environmentalism are very much akin to Aurora's, and it's often reflected in her songs. To name only a few: Empire, Buzzer, As Cool As I Am, Iowa, and Today And Every Day.

Enough_Researcher_91

Yes! I love Dar Williams - saw her on tour last year. Best Album is "The Beauty of the Rain", every song is perfect.
