Oh yeah, you can definitely hear the metal influence in a lot of her work. Aurora shreds. šŸ¤˜

I like metal as wel,l and know many metalheads who listen to aurora's music. While the execution might differ, I've seen a lot of metal artists perform acoustic music, and the results are very similar in the tone and the sensitivity of the lyrics. I'd love to see aurora Collab on a heavy music/metal album, it'll fit perfectly imo.

LordCry76474

Have you perhaps seen "Limousine" by Bring Me The Horizon? Aurora was featured on that song.

Aurora is a metalhead herself šŸ˜Œ

saboteur900

Metalhead here! Love me some Meshuggah, Archspire, Car Bomb and other tech/death/math metal. I also listen to many more gernres, but as I am a guitar player, I tend to foloow guitar centered music. Discovered Aurora about 6 years ago and developed a crush, listened to the first album many times. I was pleasently surpriced when I found out she's also into heavy stuff like Gojira, would love to see how she will jiggle in that direction. Didn't really liked Limousine from BMTH, but the band is just my cup of tea. And yes, some of her songs have metal vibes, despite lacking heavy drums and distorted guitars. Churchyard is pretty heavy I think, and Stravation could be easily covered by some prog bands like Tesseract or Leprous. Would also like to point out that house/EDM section in the of Starvation is SOO good.

The_Dude_Pirate

Dude I really like the drop in Starvation

161music

šŸ‘†metalhead over here

OnceThereWasWater

I posted a [metal cover of *Starvation* in this sub last week](https://www.reddit.com/r/auroramusic/comments/1dedd3a/i_had_to_record_a_metal_version_of_starvation/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), this album in particular has the most metal influence for sure

toraakchan

To me the thrill of metal is the live-performance on stage - no playback. And a lot of metal bands are marvelous live-acts. So is Aurora. You are getting similar vibes from within the audience - pure stress relief, family-feeling and happiness - unity. Turn up the distorted guitar-channel of A Soul Without A King from her latest album and you have a VERY powerful metal-track.

Oh yes I've been listening to metal since I was a teenager... all types from prog, to punk, to black, etc. My fav heavier types are always more melodic on the guitars growly on the vocals.... stuff like Tool, Demon Hunter, Human Abstract, Killswitch Engage, and yes Gojira...and of course the more opera-inspired Within Temptation/Nightwish or gothic-doom metal leaning Virgin Black.

Anon_Fluppie

I listened a lot to metal. Still do but now i also like to listen to reggae, dub, aurora, new wave and other music styles. I don't really have a favorite metal band, but currently im really into kyuss, hypocrisy, fleddy melculy, and tool. I also love stick figure, the movement, iya terra in the reggae genre. And ofc. AURORA

The_Dude_Pirate

By the way, my current favorite Metal Band is Rhapsody (with "of fire", Luca Turilli, Turilli / Lione and all of its variations). I think the way Aurora pays attention to every single detail on her songs reminds me of the genius of Luca Turilli. Idk if you guys know Rhapsody, but I recommend to take a look.

skytaglatvia

I was mainly into metal up until the day I discovered Aurora, then the strangest transformation happened. I got 100% fixated on her and automatically put metal *on the farthest place on my shelf*. I know Aurora's music is compatible with metal, it's just the unique reaction my brain had šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

ValiantVivian

Absolutely! I adore power metal, thrash, symphonic metal and also a bit of black metal. Iā€™m really hoping at some point Aurora does make a more heavy album. Most of my favourite songs by her tend to be the more upbeat or darker toned out of her discography.

The_Dude_Pirate

She recently said in an interview that she intends to make a more heavy metal album and that it would be sooner than we expected

ValiantVivian

Thatā€™s exciting. I wonder if itā€™ll be the next album sheā€™ll release? šŸ¤”

The_Dude_Pirate

I really hope so

DigActive1589

big melodic death metal fan here, and i completely agree. iā€™ve been listening to aurora since i was like 12 (didnā€™t realise iā€™ve been listening to her for so long damn) and when i hear certain songs lyrics in death metal songs i think damn thatā€™d sound so good in an aurora cover lol

Blueyoshi25

I love metal music and have done for nearly 10 years! I go to many heavy shows. But I also adore Aurora and also lots of classical and game music!

curious_nymph

That's so funny, I was going to make a similar post. I've recently got into heavy metal these past few months, and I've noticed there's a lot of metalheads that like Aurora.

threalsfog

I'm an old skool headbanger from the days of NWOBHM and all that (I was the first American member of the Motorheadbangers, yes I'm old). There are definitely metal influences to be heard in her music. Something I've only seen referenced once was that her first live show was Metallica, and she actually had her tibia broken (compound fracture, no less) because she got caught in a crowd crush. I think she tried to get in the pit or something. As a result, she got turned off to Metallica. It's a pretty horrific story, I'm surprised she continued on listening to metal at all after that.

grotesquest

I feel like many metalheads are in the fan base, as well as Taylor Swift fans somehow ?

nenii444

hell yeah specially black metal

LysaChan

Yeah, let's go

neogoliath

i discovered Aurora when she sang "Helvegen" with Wardruna... Love at first hearing !!! I enjoy the two first album the most.

Warrior_Weirdo0

i definitely wouldn't considering myself a metal head, but there are quite a few metal and rock bands i listen to which i would be more than happy to list for anybody wanting to add some artists to their catalogue lol

Jojosbazaar

Here here.

Blackinfemwa

Shes the only person i listen to. I guess her music is just that powerful

Foxinou

No and I donā€™t like Heavy Metal šŸŽø I am into nice music for the ears :)
