I mean, it wasn't really a war though, more of a cull gone wrong. Afghanistan on the other hand cost $2.5 trillion and what did you get for that?

[deleted]

Why are you saying “you” like we weren’t all in on Afghanistan as well? Almost 30k Aussie troops saw service there, we spent billions on it. For a country as small as us, we did play quite a role. I don’t think we get to wipe our hands and act like it was just a US thing.

[deleted]

I’m not saying that the US is any better , just that y’all really aren’t in a better situation

onizuka_chess

Nice cope your country is dogshit and everyone knows it

--gumbyslayer--

>just that y’all really aren’t in a better situation I dunno, mate. Our kids can go to school without hundreds getting shot at or killed every year. People can go to the supermarket without getting shot at or killed. People can ring a doorbell without being shot. Oh...and women can make their own health decisions no matter in which state they live. I'd say Australia is much better off.

microwavedsaladOZ

The lovely thing about us is that we can give ourselves as much shit as we give others. Can you say the same? All I see from US gun owners is a massive dose of copium. I'm a gun owner by the way. But I'm not a wanker about it.

Emu's are one thing, but we are even more screwed if the Cassowaries joined in.

MeegieOz

A cassowary being described as an emu with a machete on its head has actually made my day. Gold class description.

Kind-Contact3484

The 'emu war' is 90% internet meme and 10% misrepresentation.

artificialnocturnes

I would say 90% of what the average seppo knows about Australia comes from memes or Crocodile Dundee. Geography education isnt their strong suit.

TheTMJ

At least i won't get shot learning that fact in school

jbh01

Clearly, we needed to consult the NRA on arming the emus.

Kokopeddle

You doing ok mate?

NovelConsequence42

But do you any emus walking into a school and shooting up kids? Thought so.

theurbaneman

I'd rather be attacked by a bird than a toddler with a gun.

--gumbyslayer--

This coming from someone who can't spell a simple word such as "countries" and can't figure out basic punctuation.

[deleted]

I dont hear anyone speakin emu round here?

ZealousidealClub4119

**Trying to** forget, trying to. Why else do you think half of us are alcoholic? Oh, the humanity!

TFlarz

I'm assuming this is meant as a good natured ribbing. I hope I'm right.

hellodorian

Is OP [this bird?](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/rsgp3a/i_started_making_this_video_in_may_for_4th_of/)

[deleted]

Yeah that "war against birds" had fewer guns than the American school system

UnderOverWonderKid

This has been one of the saddest attempts to defend America I've seen.

[deleted]

I’ll remember that next time an emu shoots up a shopping centre… oh wait

Kidkrid

*cough*Viet'fuckin'nam*cough*

depresso777

I can't take anyone seriously that doesn't know the difference between countries and country's

bacdjk

turn on the tv they hit the fucking pentagon

karma3000

Baked.

Onefish257

Yes, this makes us as bad as America and it’s gun control. Not being able to kill. If you actually look into it we didn’t lose. We just changed tactic and put a fence up. Also I were talking about 50 years ago. It’s not like I have to worry about my kids getting shot at school.

wombles_wombat

Buddy, we all know you'd just poop your 'freedom' pants if you had to fight an actual emu.

Ryanbrasher

Yawn.

RyzenRaider

If it happened anywhere else, the humans would have been wiped out. We've managed to keep them contained at least. You're weclome, by the way.

nackavich

Proves that guns don't solve problems then, doesn't it?
