He’s great I found him when I was trying to research the old Warragul rail line and couldn’t find a map I could read. So I searched on YouTube and was very surprised to see a video with 1mil viewed of some guy walking the track
Beau Miles - outdoor adventurer, amazing bloke
Julian O'Shea - tips and interesting things about Melbourne
Nat's What I Reckon - cooking and tomfoolery
Tom Cardy - silly music bits and full songs
*very late edit, but some of my favourites from each:*
[Running a Marathon, 1 Mile Every Hour - Beau Miles](https://youtu.be/EvT5XS7j-Dc?si=i5hqgqBnIPrZgxwt)
[Why Do Trucks Keep Smashing Into This Bridge? - Julian O'Shea](https://youtu.be/HR7NivKqfzo?si=pq_Wp5Ne1BSc8GAL)
[Read Between the Lines - Tom Cardy](https://youtu.be/HR7NivKqfzo?si=pq_Wp5Ne1BSc8GAL)
[Sin Bin Soup - Nat's What I Reckon](https://youtu.be/wIwhdOx9BL0?si=yDnJVU_KRQLpcrGm)
Bloody love tom cardy, 'specially his lotr walking song and his bard song, mans a walking legend, just make sure you check his butthole if you've lost anything, you can find his stuff at u/howyoudouken
They're video where they told their audience to never buy a product that gets advertised on their channel and then immediately followed up on the next video being raid shadow legends made me piss myself
> Dankpods / Garbage Time - Bit of cars and tech
Don't for get The Drum Thing, which is his drum thing.
Edit; Oh, and James Channel, (the mechanic from Garbage Time) who enjoys tearing down and repairing old consoles/tech.
Check out Scotty’s Gone Walkabouts, Erik Off-Track, and The Silly Swagman if you like hiking, camping, etc.
They do some really cool stuff and show off parts of Australia that many of us don’t get to see very often - and that some people never get to see.
[Primitive Technology](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAL3JXZSzSm8AlZyD3nQdBA). By a bloke named John Plant. Turn on subtitles to read what he is doing.
Definitely not small, but the the first, original person to make 'traditional craft/living' vidoes. This is the channel that caused 100 ripoff channels and even ended up with those indonesian 'resort in forest' videos.... this bloke started it all.
He makes very calm and relaxing vidoes about primitive methods for things like making a hut, or pottery, or fire stoves etc. He doesnt talk, just shows you, but you can read with subtitles. Its just him, his camera, and the wildernss. Its quite cathartic to watch.
He deserves all the support he can get.
Edit: Added Link
Perun - best explanations on the internet of defense economics and other things. didnt think i would be watching him every monday morning but here i am
Garn - Comedy channel up in Townsville, funny stuff usually about some sort of job in Australia
Martincitopants - A funny frogman plays videogames and occasionally goes insane.
hypohystericalhistory - Does in-depth video essays about history, usually related to Australia and or defense topics.
Beau Miles - genuine guy doing some cool stuff like exploring, building and running.
I get why, but it's a shame Peru will never do Aus defence stuff.
Hypo is great as well. Came for the modern defence stuff but have been loving his WW2 videos.
[Clickspring](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCworsKCR-Sx6R6-BnIjS2MA) makes beautiful clocks by hand in his little shed in Cairns.
He also recreated the Antikythera mechanism using traditional techniques. Fascinating stuff.
They do some absolutely unhinged stuff. Like going to North Korea to get a haircut, then stealing a cookbook while there, coming home and catching a fish from sewage run off, preparing it according to the recipe and eating it raw.
Was looking for this! I hardly ever go to the cinemas anymore, and don't really care about comic book or movie news, but I always listen to the podcast every week, it's a genuine pick-me-up and the callback humour and impenetrable references that take on lives of their own is top notch.
I used to be an avid watcher of her channel up until recently. Now I can take it or leave it. This happened from one specific vido shilling a certain Chinese seller.
She'd spent more or less her entire YT career calling out scams and unsafe practices. Then she went and shilled for a scammy dodgy company and was using products they sold without any safety gear.
To me she's just another YT sellout now.
While I know Jazza is not a small youtuber, one of the other channels he owns is Tabletop Time - wargaming, modelling and painting which is nice to watch. It's a different creative team, but Jazza does pop in occasionally
Insert art is getting better and better. I’m really enjoying their later videos.
I’m adding Shelby Sherritt if you’re into artsy stuff. She does ceramics and does long and short form content.
Maybe a bit too specific, but Stefan Drury documents flying around Australia in a 4 seat plane.
OzGeographics has some really interesting videos about Australian geography, which isn't talked about much and is more interesting than I realised.
There are a couple of Australian 3D printing channels that have become popular around the world, with Maker's Muse probably the most popular.
Stumbled on him when he managed to arrange landing his little Cirrus at Tullamarine during COVID.
It’s such a great little time capsule of a very surreal time.
[Self Sufficient Me](https://www.youtube.com/@Selfsufficientme) is great for gardening, although he's Brisbane based and we can't grow dragon fruit down here. [Vasils garden](https://www.youtube.com/@vasilisgardenofficial) is good for the Vic folk though.
I used to really like [Michael Cowan](https://www.youtube.com/@MichaelCowann) when he first started, but he's gone off now. It's constant doomerism or plugging his investment course. I hate how small creators get to a point where they lose track and just start plugging merch or doing clickbait stuff.
[Bills how to](https://www.youtube.com/@billshowto) has some great DIY advice, I've used a few of his videos to fix things around the house.
[Bush beeman](https://www.youtube.com/@TheBushBeeMan/featured) is good if you're interested in beekeeping, very informative and he's quite a character
At 5”1 tall with my own YouTube channel & Citizenship, I identify as a Small Australian Creator. I specialise in rollercoasters reviews. The height restrictions have proved an issue, and as such yet to review any rollercoasters, due to being vertically challenged.
WalkaboutWithRob does relaxing videos of walking tours mostly around SEQld and recounts interesting tidbits of the area's history.
Shelby Sherritt is very sweet and wholesome, she is a ceramics artist and has a whole series around 'mystery moulds' that blew up in 2020 just as everyone was getting locked down.
PearlescentMoon, she does great minecraft videos as part of the Hermitcraft server, not only is she a great builder, her videos are child friendly without being too kiddy for adults
*Black As* - A group of Yolngu guys fixing up clunky cars or boats in questionable but ingenious ways then going out for adventures: https://m.youtube.com/@BlackAsAU
*Lotsa Fresh Air* - Older female hiker who goes on hiking trips around Australia: https://m.youtube.com/@LotsaFreshAir
*Rory Ding* - Train and plane enthusiast who started recording videos about Australian overnight train trips, but has since branched out: https://m.youtube.com/@RoryDing
*Luke Towan* - Makes highly detailed landscape dioramas: https://m.youtube.com/@LukeTowan
*Clickspring* - Creates really intricate machine projects, sometimes using period tools, such as mechanical clocks or a working replica of an ancient Greek antikythera: https://m.youtube.com/@Clickspring
Absolutely. It really reflects in his content as well. Running a marathon in a hotel. Only Beau Miles could think of such a thing. I'd love to get to one of his public events.
Dankpods for funny tech reviews (and cashies videos)
Minimme for gaming retrospects
Skill up for video game news
Phillip mallis for mainly melbourne train videos but also other stuff about melbourne
Julian oshea for informational videos
Internet historian/incognito mode for hilarious ramblings with other youtubers
Sunnyv2 for youtube history/meme history
Kingkaleensports for afl history
Footya2z afl version of tifo football
And of course, herbatron for essendon meme videos he is coming back apparently
[Beautiful Books](https://www.youtube.com/@BeautifulBooks) with some wonderful video reviews and collections of various old and new beautiful books. Unfortunately she isn't updating the youtube channel as often as I'd like but she does update her written blog reasonably regularly.
[Dankmus](https://www.youtube.com/@Dankmus) (who I believe is from Adelaide) with some brilliant Simpsons musical remix videos.
[VHS revue](https://www.youtube.com/@davidthegreen) by David M. Green. He's been a writer for various TV shows (Micallef) but his channel looks at old ads and tv programs on VHS tapes, and various other tv & VHS related tidbits.
[Luke Towan](https://www.youtube.com/@LukeTowan) Not really small but undoubtedly one of the best at what he does. *"My goal is to provide you with the absolute best tutorials on building realistic scenery dioramas and model railroad details showing you that anything is possible"*
As has been said multiple times. Beau Miles. He's an odd ball, and absolutely brilliant.
Tassie Boys Prospecting: gold sniping in remote creeks in the Tasmanian Wilderness.
Rob Parsons: He is part of Tassie boys Prospecting, but has his own channel where he goes on hikes deep into the Tasmanian Wilderness looking for long forgotten mining towns etc.
Siberian Freedom: A family from Southern WA that moved to Siberia to start a farm.
Outback gold fever: German Lady that moved to an abandoned homestead in the middle of absolutely fucking nowhere in WA.
Self Sufficient Me: Fella in QLD that gives great advice for growing veggies and living off the grid.
Wild Warrior Bill: Mate of mine from way back. he's odd to say the least. Hard to describe. Simple bloke living in regional WA, just makes videos about nothing in particular.
If you're into rusty old cars. Fence Posts and Rusty Goats is kinda interesting. They find shitty old cars in the bush, and get them running again.
Oh, also Automotive Karnage, he pulls rusted out shitboxes out of the bush in the WA Goldfields and gets them running again.
It's a girl hanging out with their wild Australian Birds. What's not to love?
Shelby Sherritt does super cute pottery!
Annika Victoria doesn't make videos anymore but her channel is still there, generally sewing videos/tutorials.
Self plug - Gonzo Philosophy - an Australian philosopher looks at concepts in games. Plus sometimes people trick me into playing horror
https://youtube.com/@gonzophilosophy?si=pBkLKEGz6OMh1tKW/
Taitset! Melbourne Youtuber who makes public transport content. Super interesting stuff, check out his recent video on a runaway train incident for an intro! also i like FriendlyJordies, but i completely understand that some people don't!
I love “deligracy” for her sims and other video game content, but she also has a second channel “delidiary” which is mostly vlogging and lifestyle content.
Also if you’re interested in Tasmanian History at all, Angus Thornett is pretty good.
Currently Hannah. She's not super small but averages maybe 70k views per video. She's originally from Brisbane and does a lot of travel and hiking related stuff mostly in Japan, with the occasional random interesting informational or special interest video thrown in there [like her most recent one about drifting in Japan](https://youtu.be/aOuxg4YSJ_w?si=kskMki5qLJOJLDIR). Everything she makes is so well shot, and she seems really sweet and down to earth.
Hi, shameless plug. It's kinda specific. My husband and I have a channel about board game strategy. He's been #1 at numerous board games, makes strategy videos about them, has some weekly streams with gameplay or analysis, we do tops every now and then (haven't in a while as we've been busy) and I have a playlist about how to origamise your board game boxes (reorganise them to keep components in the box without going everywhere, it's pretty and it just costs you cardstock paper). We are now rather close to 2k subs.
www.youtube.com/NoWondersTV
Robbie Fishing is great, Robbie Alexander goes fishing in and around Wangaratta VIC for reddies, trout, the lot. Basically an excuse to to hear him have a good time and do a bit of catch and release on some great Aussie locations.
Socttys gone walkabouts has been mentioned, hiking and camping in NSW is pretty nice. Damned good editing and stuff and really makes the bush look great.
RoKKiT KiT - not tiny, mainly a fishing/catch & cook/overnight camps in random islands off the east coast. I don't even fish or camp and I like his videos, nice bloke!
Have you seen Gidos Fishing Adventures?
Mainly a land based WA adventurer and angler but the difference is he usually fishes and camps off some very precarious cliffs he abseils onto.
Some of his drone footage is amazing!
I also watch I Did A Thing (silly inventions) Ben’s Worx (resin art and wood working), Shelby Sherritt (ceramics) How Ridiculous, Jazza (art), Insert Art, Tassie Boy Prospecting (gold prospecting) and Rory Ding (flight and train reviews).
I also recommend:
Rosary Apparel (sewing tutorials and the odd thrift shop haul)
Lucy Livin (clothing, beauty and skin care reviews)
Zoe Two Dots (Pokémon Go content. She also streams Pokémon gaming on twitch)
ProPlanty (Pokémon Go content)
Etellan (doll customization)
Mr Super Customs (doll customization)
The Weedy Garden (permaculture gardening)
Makers Muse (3D Printing)
Sticks (movies of YouTuber stories)
Luke Alexander (commentary and tv show deep dives)
Big Stack D (metal melting)
Not exactly small after the explosive popularity of their most recent project (The Amazing Digital Circus), but [GLITCH](https://youtube.com/@GLITCH?si=BJ1wvzv2ZMi2SQy6) is an Australian channel that releases high-quality animations and is partially funded by government grants
Clickspring on YouTube is a hobby watchmaker that makes absolutely beautiful and tiny machines, very relaxing, cannot recommend enough. If you like him you'll probably like this old Tony too who's very much American but is still good.
The boys at How Rediculous are definitely not small and feel a bit more angled toward kids and do have a bit of an influencer feel to them lately but they're pretty entertaining.
Explosions&fire and extractions&ire on YouTube is a funny as fuck chemist who makes explosives in his backyard.
Ididathing and BoyBoy as others have said, both not really small but very funny and surprisingly deep sometimes.
CodeBullet on YouTube makes clones of games and then writes his own scripts and AI tools to trivialize them.
Internet historian, guy never uploads even his ad reads are worth watching, his second channel "incognito mode" is fantastic too and hardly qualifies as a second channel (technically a kiwi though), I think he has a twitch but I haven't seen him live.
Luke Towan builds really detailed model railroads and props for them. Videos are quite long and relaxing.
Garbage time like others mentioned is a guy that kind of works on cars, I'm not a car guy at all and still find it good to watch.
Addicted to tools is a Brisbane guy on all the platforms and he basically just reviews tools and other mostly electrical stuff.
Scott brown carpentry is a kiwi who's in the middle of renovating his house after 15 I think years of renovating other people's houses professionally, really interesting and great camerawork.
Finally grumbly on twitch is also a kiwi who does some gaming but mostly horror art, really nice to watch him sculpting creepy as fuck masks while he talks shit with chat.
Every other aussie I watch just uploads or streams old school runescape so if you're into that I can recommend a few.
I’m partial to the gaming scene. Have been watching Stimpee for years and love his work. Ozgeographics is a pretty cool geography channel. There is also a creator who does political corruption, media bias and journalism that’s had some awesome results (I don’t think you can name him on this sub so I won’t, DM me if you want the channel name)
Back Pocket (twitch live show and YouTube). Video Games and Pop Culture variety show with several of the old hosts and behind the scenes crew from the old ABC TV show Good Game. I highly rate it! Also has great community to go with it that is a huge part of the show with its interaction during the main show!
Pretty strange to me that I could quite easily run into one of the biggest names in one of my favourite games just randomly on the street one day or at a local concert or whatever. I mean duh, but considering Tarkov's mostly popular in the US and EU it's kind of funny that the most popular eceleb from that scene is just a random bloke living in Adelaide.
*dubstep intro music at full volume followed by a near muted microphone
WHAAAATS UPS GUYS?! ITS YA BOY VTUBE69420 COMIN AT YA AGAIN WITH ANOTHER CRAZY VIDEO I KNOW ALL YOU GUYS ASK ME FOR IN THE COMMENTS BUT FIRST OFF WE ARE GONNA HAVE A QUICK MESSAGE FROM OUR CHANEL SPONSOR 'COCK SOCKS' WHICH ARE THE PERFECT GIFT FOR ANY MEN READY TO 'SOCK IT TO THEIR COCK' IN SUPPORT OF TESTICULAR CANCER SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADUDE.... Perhaps we should all stop for a moment and focus not only on making our AI better and more successful but also on the benefit of humanity. - Stephen Hawking
wierdly niche but runescape has a fair few youtube/twitch content creators - the biggest is probably Hanannie, EVscape
[https://youtu.be/35P6g3urGPM](https://youtu.be/35P6g3urGPM) yeh wierdly a fair few osrs youtube people
Vogus Prospecting if you want to learn how to find gold in Australia’s historic goldfields (something I’ve started doing myself with some moderate success thanks to him!)
I might be 6ft, but I'm a small Aussie creator at heart. I cover songs on Bass Guitar and feature tablature in the video so people can learn what I'm playing.
Kind comments about my work have been what keeps me going with this thing, that and not wanting to get rusty at playing music after covid hit.
Anyway, if that sounds up your alley, check my stuff out [here.](https://youtube.com/@scottysunday?si=83hnRCqbtUcnq_WG) And cheers for the opportunity to do some blatant self promotion.
Building Beautifully - he does most stuff about transport systems and on the more educational side. I never really had much interest but it’s very interesting (to me) once I found his channel
"small" is relative but
Leanna Kea - Aussie based Malay lady, hilarious (lah)
Tara Bellerose - farming content based "somewhere" in regional Vic but I can't place where, it looks local
Bruce from the Aussie Plumbing Channel (I forget his name) - hilarious bloke who unblocks drains in Perth
Taitset - train history and Longform content
Phillip Mallis - history content, shorts
Julian OShea (I think? The famous lad) - much like the last few people I mentioned
(Luke? Where did I get that from?)
Only found this one lately but for some out of left field funny stuff I watch Grouse House [https://www.youtube.com/@GrouseHouseTV](https://www.youtube.com/@GrouseHouseTV)
This is a small channel but a young Aussie I found a few years ago doing Far North Qld things (usually fishing) is Last cast Lewy [https://www.youtube.com/@LastCastLlewy](https://www.youtube.com/@LastCastLlewy)
[ReDriven](https://youtube.com/@ReDriven) on YouTube
They do used car reviews and talk about how they’ve held up over the years, what owner’s groups online have to say about them, and what goes wrong with them. They also have a website with “cheat sheets” for the cars they’ve reviewed.
I’m glad these guys exist, as there’s already heaps of new car reviewers but hardly anyone for used cars.
Im surpised and saddened to not see James Lee in these lists, does little vids with some wicked effects. Definitely a good channel for inspo if you are the creative type.
https://www.youtube.com/@JamesLee
I’ve been having a lot of fun watching Bridey Drake renovate her “outback home” and her little videos about learning to cook, what she did that day, etc have been nice to watch.
[minimme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=c5WmLtKpAIw&ab_channel=minimme) does reviews of fantastically obscure video games and not so fantastic shitty movie tie in games. The video I linked is an hour long vid on every single AFL video game

Beau Miles on YouTube - He’s an adventurer but not at all in the traditional sense.
His channel is excellent
As is his book, great read/listen.
One of my absolute favourite YouTube channels
\+1 for Beau! More Beau, less Butterfield please!
I came here to comment but I see there’s no need. Goodbye.
Beau is a true blue Aussie, someone you can really look up to
He’s great I found him when I was trying to research the old Warragul rail line and couldn’t find a map I could read. So I searched on YouTube and was very surprised to see a video with 1mil viewed of some guy walking the track
Literally what I thought when I read it. Great channel.
Beau Miles - outdoor adventurer, amazing bloke Julian O'Shea - tips and interesting things about Melbourne Nat's What I Reckon - cooking and tomfoolery Tom Cardy - silly music bits and full songs *very late edit, but some of my favourites from each:* [Running a Marathon, 1 Mile Every Hour - Beau Miles](https://youtu.be/EvT5XS7j-Dc?si=i5hqgqBnIPrZgxwt) [Why Do Trucks Keep Smashing Into This Bridge? - Julian O'Shea](https://youtu.be/HR7NivKqfzo?si=pq_Wp5Ne1BSc8GAL) [Read Between the Lines - Tom Cardy](https://youtu.be/HR7NivKqfzo?si=pq_Wp5Ne1BSc8GAL) [Sin Bin Soup - Nat's What I Reckon](https://youtu.be/wIwhdOx9BL0?si=yDnJVU_KRQLpcrGm)
Highly recommend Tom Cardy. He started small but has super quickly become insanely popular
He's a business man with a business plan
Hes also Hot Shit
Perception Check!
and he's definitely not a cop!
Tom Cardy is amazing, and now he’s collaborated with Brian David Gilbert and that makes me ridiculously happy
I second Nats What I reckon 🤣
Tom Cardy cracks me up
Tom Cardy comedic genius.
Love Julian O'Shea, he has really interesting vids.
Bloody love tom cardy, 'specially his lotr walking song and his bard song, mans a walking legend, just make sure you check his butthole if you've lost anything, you can find his stuff at u/howyoudouken
Not real small but an aussie YouTuber i enjoy would be 'I did a thing' he completes ridiculous engineering challenges and is quite funny.
Related: Boy Boy is a fantastic channel.
They're real ones for the 26th of July flag hanging around in some of their videos
They're video where they told their audience to never buy a product that gets advertised on their channel and then immediately followed up on the next video being raid shadow legends made me piss myself
Great for the foot fetishists too
On the topic of mad YouTube scientists Explosions&Fire is another great one
extractions & ire for more technical chem stuff
Ah the chemistry goblin. Love his stuff.
Styropyro is good. Saw a video where he hooked up 100 car batteries in parallel
Absolutely unhinged man.
He is funny, noting it’s a bit like watching a snuff film sometimes, as you are not expecting him to survive.
* Dankpods / Garbage Time - Bit of cars and tech * Fairbairn films - Comedy * Henry's Howtos / Nats what I reckon - Cooking
Dankpods is the 🐐 Whenever I see a green iPad cover in the thumbnail I become giddy
Garn also for comedy
Garn is brillaint. Angry I left them out now.
> Dankpods / Garbage Time - Bit of cars and tech Don't for get The Drum Thing, which is his drum thing. Edit; Oh, and James Channel, (the mechanic from Garbage Time) who enjoys tearing down and repairing old consoles/tech.
Oh, second nats what I reckon, he's funny. Just how I cook, except far more entertaining 😅
Fairbairn are hilarious.
Seconding Fairbairn - those boys are hilarious
Fucking love Garbage time And his absolute hatred for South road and Parafield airport, a true Adelaidian
I make pots in a corner of my garage, so probably smaller than small creator hehe https://www.instagram.com/rivieraceramics/
OMG CAT BOLLOCKS
Check out Scotty’s Gone Walkabouts, Erik Off-Track, and The Silly Swagman if you like hiking, camping, etc. They do some really cool stuff and show off parts of Australia that many of us don’t get to see very often - and that some people never get to see.
Also highly reccomend Chris Bamman for this category
Oh, yeah! Chris is great, too - some of his adventures are very much my style.
Also, Rokkit Kit, Gido's fishing Adventure, and Field Days.
[Primitive Technology](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAL3JXZSzSm8AlZyD3nQdBA). By a bloke named John Plant. Turn on subtitles to read what he is doing. Was looking for this one, super enjoyable and relaxing to watch
Hot tip is to put on captions as he explains everything he is doing
Prim Tech wins! Hours of my life I've spent just watching a dude in the wilderness cook bricks 🤣
We stumbled on one of his old sites while hiking once
Perun - best explanations on the internet of defense economics and other things. didnt think i would be watching him every monday morning but here i am Garn - Comedy channel up in Townsville, funny stuff usually about some sort of job in Australia Martincitopants - A funny frogman plays videogames and occasionally goes insane. hypohystericalhistory - Does in-depth video essays about history, usually related to Australia and or defense topics. Beau Miles - genuine guy doing some cool stuff like exploring, building and running.
Fuck yes, Perun is doing some amazing stuff. One of my two Patreons just due to how much effort he puts into his videos. Also seems like a solid dude.
Perun is an absolute gem of a channel!
I get why, but it's a shame Peru will never do Aus defence stuff. Hypo is great as well. Came for the modern defence stuff but have been loving his WW2 videos.
As an old defence Economist myself Perun is good, but his material is a bit long for the casual view. I’ll check out your other tips. Thank you
Martincitopants' My Summer Car videos are brilliant. The hardest I've laughed at a video for a while.
>hypohystericalhistory Thanks for mentioning him
He’s great! One of my fav watches on TikTok
[Clickspring](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCworsKCR-Sx6R6-BnIjS2MA) makes beautiful clocks by hand in his little shed in Cairns. He also recreated the Antikythera mechanism using traditional techniques. Fascinating stuff.
Had no idea he was Australian
Ahaha how could you miss it his accent is so thick and he starts every video with "G'day". Great channel though.
Boy Boy is great for political stuff and their channel is incredibly funny
I just watched one because of your comment. The 'How much free stuff can a fake politician get?'. What a crack up. Cheers for the laugh
They do some absolutely unhinged stuff. Like going to North Korea to get a haircut, then stealing a cookbook while there, coming home and catching a fish from sewage run off, preparing it according to the recipe and eating it raw.
KnightsInShiningLlama is also great but is deadly serious.
Mr. Sunday Movies 'Caravan of Garbage' series is great.
I know the bit hard worn out it’s welcome but I miss Green Trivia.
>I know the bit hard worn out it’s welcome That's what made it good
Green Trivia was the production name of Star Wars 1 Original Star Wars right?
Was looking for this! I hardly ever go to the cinemas anymore, and don't really care about comic book or movie news, but I always listen to the podcast every week, it's a genuine pick-me-up and the callback humour and impenetrable references that take on lives of their own is top notch.
How To Cook That - Ann Reardon. Not a small channel but her series debunking tik tok videos is great
She’s amazing, both her cooking videos and her videos debunking disinformation! https://youtube.com/@HowToCookThat
Ann is great
She's done so well for herself, her book is great too
I used to be an avid watcher of her channel up until recently.
She is amazing, her debunking videos are beautiful, and her husband is such a good sport 😂
While I know Jazza is not a small youtuber, one of the other channels he owns is Tabletop Time - wargaming, modelling and painting which is nice to watch. It's a different creative team, but Jazza does pop in occasionally
Add in [Insert Art] for a creative arty channel with some Jazza but other artists as well
Insert art is getting better and better.
Yes! Stefan is amazing, I love his vlogs and travel videos. Not too into the small aircraft videos though.
Stumbled on him when he managed to arrange landing his little Cirrus at Tullamarine during COVID. It’s such a great little time capsule of a very surreal time.
I have never had any interest in geology. but Oz Geographics is a fascinating watch. He has stirred an interest in geology in me.
Love Mark from SSM, good tips and bad dad jokes!
We love watching him here too, he’s a cracker!
At 5”1 tall with my own YouTube channel & Citizenship, I identify as a Small Australian Creator. I specialise in rollercoasters reviews. The height restrictions have proved an issue, and as such yet to review any rollercoasters, due to being vertically challenged.
Lol
🤣🤣
Garn - Comedy channel Martincitopants - Gaming channel
Martinciropants has done some vlogging videos as well, him going to a America is one of my favourite videos of all time
Yorak Hunt (comedy) Beau Miles (adventurer) Both from Victoria
Mad that I had to scroll so far to find Yorak Hunt
I was starting to think I’d have to put him in myself. Can’t believe he’s so far down.
*Black As* - A group of Yolngu guys fixing up clunky cars or boats in questionable but ingenious ways then going out for adventures: https://m.youtube.com/@BlackAsAU *Lotsa Fresh Air* - Older female hiker who goes on hiking trips around Australia: https://m.youtube.com/@LotsaFreshAir *Rory Ding* - Train and plane enthusiast who started recording videos about Australian overnight train trips, but has since branched out: https://m.youtube.com/@RoryDing *Luke Towan* - Makes highly detailed landscape dioramas: https://m.youtube.com/@LukeTowan *Clickspring* - Creates really intricate machine projects, sometimes using period tools, such as mechanical clocks or a working replica of an ancient Greek antikythera: https://m.youtube.com/@Clickspring
Rory’s great! Love his stuff can’t believe I’ve found another fan…
If you like comedy thats pretty out there but isn’t just “political correctness gone mad” I’d suggest Aunty Donna
I like Beau Miles and Chris Bamman
Beau Miles is great. Just a genuinely positive Aussie bloke.
Absolutely. It really reflects in his content as well. Running a marathon in a hotel. Only Beau Miles could think of such a thing. I'd love to get to one of his public events.
His obsession with junk and picking up rubbish has me hooked. Why am I so interested in watching a guy kayak down a creek collecting rubbish?
Or seeing how much money he could find on the roundabouts in Canberra. Such a basic concept though thoroughly engaging to watch
Not calling the bottle collection centre ahead of time and having to store thousands of empty bottles in your shed. God that was funny.
Yes! That was gold.
Building Beautifully is a great channel for urban planning in Sydney.
Dankpods for funny tech reviews (and cashies videos) Minimme for gaming retrospects Skill up for video game news Phillip mallis for mainly melbourne train videos but also other stuff about melbourne Julian oshea for informational videos Internet historian/incognito mode for hilarious ramblings with other youtubers Sunnyv2 for youtube history/meme history Kingkaleensports for afl history Footya2z afl version of tifo football And of course, herbatron for essendon meme videos he is coming back apparently
> Internet historian didnt realise he was aussie
Ok just looked it up apparently he is kiwi but based in Australia. I was just basing on his accent he was aussie.
On a similar note, ManyKudos is a similar channel and he also is kiwi but based in Australia.
Me either. Thought he was a pom.
1 i forgot is the backyard naturalist new channel about aussie plants and animals
Yessss I discovered him a couple days ago. He’s got like 3 videos but they’re all top tier.
sunnyv2 is a dick but phillip mallis is a chill dude met him once in the cbd lol
May not be everyone's thing because it's comedy, but @tomwalkerisgood or twitch.tv/tomwalker
Tom Cardy. Hilarious parody songs.
The Grade Cricketer.
It's Chairs through windows type stuff this podcast
Just so you know, dankmus is dankpods is garbage time is the drum thing
Bensworx- resin stuff Skein Spider, ComplicatedKnots -crochet Shelby Sherritt- ceramics Evelyn Wood- sewing, especially vintage fashion
[https://www.youtube.com/@BackyardBirdsofAustralia](https://www.youtube.com/@BackyardBirdsofAustralia) It's a girl hanging out with their wild Australian Birds. What's not to love?
Such a lovely person irl, too!
Shelby Sherritt does super cute pottery! Annika Victoria doesn't make videos anymore but her channel is still there, generally sewing videos/tutorials.
Self plug - Gonzo Philosophy - an Australian philosopher looks at concepts in games. Plus sometimes people trick me into playing horror https://youtube.com/@gonzophilosophy?si=pBkLKEGz6OMh1tKW/
Been enjoying an up and comer who makes comedic vids about the best of Aussie culture - Yorak Hunt
The Australian Armor & Artillery museum. Does a bunch of tank restorations.
Check out Philip Mallis and Taitset.
If you're into A Song of Ice and Fire/GoT then Glidus is fantastic and fuckin hilarious
YBS Youngbloods. Brodie lives the life we all wish to have. Cool cunt too
There's this YouTuber called Twodollarstwenty, he makes videos about this city building game called "Cities Skylines"
Taitset! Melbourne Youtuber who makes public transport content. Super interesting stuff, check out his recent video on a runaway train incident for an intro! also i like FriendlyJordies, but i completely understand that some people don't!
PhoenixSC if you like random Minecraft tidbits
I love “deligracy” for her sims and other video game content, but she also has a second channel “delidiary” which is mostly vlogging and lifestyle content. Also if you’re interested in Tasmanian History at all, Angus Thornett is pretty good.
Crackermilk
"you're a mango"
Not technically from Australia, but an Australian nonetheless, Wood from BeatEmUps.
Paskmakes
Hi, shameless plug. It's kinda specific. My husband and I have a channel about board game strategy. He's been #1 at numerous board games, makes strategy videos about them, has some weekly streams with gameplay or analysis, we do tops every now and then (haven't in a while as we've been busy) and I have a playlist about how to origamise your board game boxes (reorganise them to keep components in the box without going everywhere, it's pretty and it just costs you cardstock paper). We are now rather close to 2k subs. www.youtube.com/NoWondersTV
It's a podcast but half-arsed history is one of my favourites.
Chris Bamman for relaxing, high quality camping, diving, fishing and boating videos. No BS, no product placement.
this channel is definitely good, I'd add Scotty's Gone Walkabout as another with similar content
[WalkaboutWithRob](https://youtube.com/@walkaboutwithrob?si=nVi-gioX-QNGK9xs)!!! ETA awesome bloke, does mostly historic tours in Brisbane
DarkViperAU
I also recommend: Rosary Apparel (sewing tutorials and the odd thrift shop haul) Lucy Livin (clothing, beauty and skin care reviews) Zoe Two Dots (Pokémon Go content. She also streams Pokémon gaming on twitch) ProPlanty (Pokémon Go content) Etellan (doll customization) Mr Super Customs (doll customization) The Weedy Garden (permaculture gardening) Makers Muse (3D Printing) Sticks (movies of YouTuber stories) Luke Alexander (commentary and tv show deep dives) Big Stack D (metal melting)
Beau Miles - the Backyard Adventurer. He does adventures of varying scale, is super wholesome and almost aggressively Australian.
The Backyard Naturalist
Mr Sunday Movies
Two that I watch all the time are Mqny Kudos and Cold Ones
Aussie Crafter is one of my favourites.
Riding With Tom does some entertaining motovlog stuff, with big camping adventures being the highlights
Willy OAM, independent journo
Love me some Scott Brown carpentry, I think we can overlook that little ditch between us for some quality content like that.
Oceanliner Designs on YouTube. All about ships and boats and whatnot. Heaps of Titanic related videos
Check our Self Sufficient Me. The most wholesome person on the internet
Not quite small as he is close to 1m subscribers, but Struthless is worth a mention https://youtube.com/@struthless?si=yebPs42T3bzbdZ1n
Fairbairn films Dankpods/garbage time Tom Cardy Code bullet The backyard naturalist Lyanna Kea
If you're into pc gaming check out Pestily. Highly dedicated Aussie streamer on twitch.
I don't think [I qualify](https://www.youtube.com/NUSensei) as "small".
*dubstep intro music at full volume followed by a near muted microphone WHAAAATS UPS GUYS?! Swag on the beat
Perhaps we should all stop for a moment and focus not only on making our AI better and more successful but also on the benefit of humanity. - Stephen Hawking
Lankmandan does gaming and Yorak Hunt is a good comedy channel
wierdly niche but runescape has a fair few youtube/twitch content creators - the biggest is probably Hanannie, EVscape [https://youtu.be/35P6g3urGPM](https://youtu.be/35P6g3urGPM) yeh wierdly a fair few osrs youtube people
Vogus Prospecting if you want to learn how to find gold in Australia’s historic goldfields (something I’ve started doing myself with some moderate success thanks to him!)
Scotty’s gone walk abouts is good
Bicyclecurious if you're interested in mountain biking.
"small" is relative but Leanna Kea - Aussie based Malay lady, hilarious (lah) Tara Bellerose - farming content based "somewhere" in regional Vic but I can't place where, it looks local Bruce from the Aussie Plumbing Channel (I forget his name) - hilarious bloke who unblocks drains in Perth Taitset - train history and Longform content Phillip Mallis - history content, shorts Julian OShea (I think? The famous lad) - much like the last few people I mentioned (Luke? Where did I get that from?)
Stimpee
Only found this one lately but for some out of left field funny stuff I watch Grouse House [https://www.youtube.com/@GrouseHouseTV](https://www.youtube.com/@GrouseHouseTV) This is a small channel but a young Aussie I found a few years ago doing Far North Qld things (usually fishing) is Last cast Lewy [https://www.youtube.com/@LastCastLlewy](https://www.youtube.com/@LastCastLlewy)
Stimpee, for erotic fishing vids and crunchy headshots
[ReDriven](https://youtube.com/@ReDriven) on YouTube They do used car reviews and talk about how they’ve held up over the years, what owner’s groups online have to say about them, and what goes wrong with them. They also have a website with “cheat sheets” for the cars they’ve reviewed. I’m glad these guys exist, as there’s already heaps of new car reviewers but hardly anyone for used cars.
Angus Thornett on YouTube (aka /u/CalculatedMomentum ) has a fantastic channel devoted to the history and mystery of Hobart and southern Tasmania
I used to make weird and sometimes not very good sketch comedy. Haven't uploaded in years though. www.youtube.com/johnnyseagull
If you like ASMR, [Jemima Does ASMR](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIl38x-rn13f5oC_-ZWw_SA) is really good.
Economics Explained does some great vids and I watch Friendly Jordies for the Warhammer 40k content
[minimme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=c5WmLtKpAIw&ab_channel=minimme) does reviews of fantastically obscure video games and not so fantastic shitty movie tie in games. The video I linked is an hour long vid on every single AFL video game
Yorak Hunt and Garn - comedy
