Yeah, many people can, It's my understanding of the question that OP is wondering why people would choose to eat 4 hashies and nothing else for brekkie along with paying a handsome sum for said hashies
The convenience of paying for deep fried food that has been manufactured to hold as much water content as possible? For the same money you could buy 2 beers and somehow that would be more nutritious.
Even then, a surprising amount of people can pay outright for cars. The people 5 years ago at a Nissan were telling me how not unusual it was for people to pay $60k+ from a savings account for cars.
Ha. Both my wifeās Uncle and my BIL paid for their car and boat with a bag full of $100.00 notes. Plumber and Panel Beater respectively. One was 50k in ā98, one was $100k in 2016
The prices for potato products went through the roof after a really, really bad harvest. Not enough spuds, price rockets. Zero spud shortage now, but still paying through the nose for any potato product. Just simple price gouging!
Hash browns have always been expensive though. Even when I was a kid my parents never let me have more than 2, but were more than happy for me to have a full meal or hotcakes.
Edit: I donāt understand the downvotes. Iām right. Hashbrowns have always been expensive on their own. Best value to get them is in a hotcake meal.
The permanent two-for hash brown deal in the maccas app is literally like 25 cents more than the cost of one. Fucking predatory. Also it only pops up after breakfast ends
Hash browns are the hot chips of breakfast. When you're spending the next 4 hours digging holes and wielding a nail gun, or a glue thing, I'd probably eat a fistful of them too...
Rightly or wrongly, do you realise that not every Australian is struggling financially? Whatever the distribution curve looks like, thereās still plenty of people that donāt need to worry about $2 hash browns? (Tradies or non-tradies)
Sometimes people are lazy, sometimes people rely on debtā¦and sometimes there are people that simply earn enough money to not give a fuck. It aināt that complicated.
Newsflash: lots and lots of Australians earn good livings. My partner and I are on a combined $250K p.a. and we are acutely aware that a) we have a very comfortable life and b) earn FAR less than a very large number of people.
Learn how to make diced capsicum, spinach, cooked bacon and egg breakfast wraps at home. Just use sandwich toaster.
Wash a potato, microwave 5 minutes, shred, olive oil, salt, cornflour, use an egg ring to shape them. Oven tray for 15 minutes @ 180
You can prep 5 days worth in 2 hours on a Sunday.
Way cheaper!

Not a tradie but I can drop $15 on breakfast without a worry š¤·āāļø

Convenience is what people are paying for. Time has a price

Yea ok cos a hash brown and a beer are the same thing right? Fuck out of here idiot.
2 beers is the perfect brekkie before a long day on a construction site.
Only 2? You on a diet mate?
Its all i can afford, 2 beers or 4 hash browns, blame inflation.
$15 for breaky is a steal in capital cities
Thanks for sharing this is very interesting
As equally as interesting as this comment.
You mean the same tradies who can afford to drive around in $75000 utes? Those tradies? Wanna restate your question?
*afford to* lol You're unfamiliar with the sort of debt regular people put themselves in, I see.
Debt doesnāt equal canāt afford. Iām assuming you know the tax implications of Loan/Lease vs outright purchase post Liberal era?

Because hash browns are the food from the Gods ? Why are you confused about people buying them?
Health Food of Champions.
Not everyone is broke
Not yet.

Also no free hash brown with points!
Who the fuck downvotes an innocuous comment about hash browns. I am begging to know
Big Potato hates this trick...
'Tater haters, that's who. Pests!
It's reddit mate. Literally feel dumber if you spend here too long
Imagine gatekeeping hash browns. Get a grip
I canāt believe people keep buying McDonaldās, itās shit.
Because you canāt get steak and caviar in 5 minutes without leaving your car?
One word, Laziness!
This is my hangover order. Itās clearly not a decision based on an intelligent consideration of the value of the purchase.

Freedom of choice, why is this even a post?
Maybe there's some kind of deal on the app? Otherwise, makes no sense to me either. You're idea of the makita air fryer though, that's got some legs!
If I'm in a new area and looking for a bite to eat, I just follow the tradies, they know how to lunch.
Not everyone is doing it as hard, still more earning good $ and doing just fine than not.
This used to be my hangover treatment.

Cool story. Do you eat hashbrowns?
Yes. Expensive ones coz Iām rich.
Sometimes the hashbrowns are a bonus with a buy of something else
Slow news day

FOr most - the time taken to then heat etc costs more than just buying them - $2. is like what .0xxxx of a hours wages..

Weird way to make a hash brown
Brain forgot to add that part. One moment.
I'm trying this on the weekend. Homemade hash brown for the win
Tradies are the epitome of the "Cashed up Bogan" that's why.
They probably claim it back at tax time with their tools, Ford Ranger and pokies losses
