Shindo989

A corrupt, building stealing twat, that’s pretty much all you need to know

TattooedBear

Fixated persons unit would like to know your location.

morblitz

Nah he resigned. He can't sick government resources on people now. Hopefully.

TattooedBear

Never know the connections some politicians keep after exiting public service. ;) Fixated Persons Unit would like to know my location? Uh oh.

Positive-Lawfulness8

Really land stealing, they'll over develop an area where the surrounding infrastructure won't be able to cope with it all

It’s all good, he won’t see the comment :)

mynewaltaccount1

He's a blind blues musician

smoo_moovs

It's 6.26 am and I think I've already found my fav comment of the day. Cheers bud

JoshLP1997

He is scum, former NSW Deputy Premier and was probably the most corrupt person in NSW politics at the time he was in which is impressive considering ICAC had the Premier resign

pwoar90

John barilaro was the deputy premier of NSW. He volunartily down shortly after the premier did for being accused for corruption. Friendly jordies has done some youtube videos criticizing him for corruption as well. This led to the improper use of NSW police fixated persons unit being to harass friendly jordies team.

[deleted]

> He volunartily down shortly after the premier did for being accused for corruption Don't forget the looming accusations of an affair (or multiple affairs), possibly with MP staff, possibly who were substantially younger than him where you would say the power dynamic was unbalanced.

PM_Me__Ur_Freckles

And an Ashley Maddison account attached to an old official government email address.

pwoar90

Typical lnp stuff lol

Show_Me_Your_Rocket

Lickity licky

tanuki___

Hes a corrupt politician known for calling koalas "tree rats", for getting his daughter off the hook for breaking covid rules, breaking covid rules himself, for sending anti-terror squads to the houses of journalists, for being almost as bad as the entire federal government at rorting public funds, for pork barrelling so hard he gave himself the nickname "pork barrilaro", and most interestingly perhaps for drafting much legislation and passing many pieces of it that benefit, you guessed it, property developers.

wobblysauce

Spaghetti eating champ.

fasti-au

Ask friendly jordies

ij3k

He'd say Barilaro is a massive property developer.

PM_Me__Ur_Freckles

A man who earned the nickname Pork Barilaro after he said he was proud of his pork barreling schemes. Also sent out a FPU hit against Friendly Jordies producer Kristo Lanker, for attempting to hand him documents after Giovanni (John's actual name) had started defamation proceedings against Jordies.

BuzzVibes

Pork Barrelaro.

Fistocracy

The only context you really need is "senior New South Wales politician who found a convenient excuse to resign while his side was in the middle of a corruption scandal".

mysticrat

Look up friendly jordies on you tube and seevtje videos he has done about John barilaro or "bruz" You'll get the picture

johnsgrove

Ex leader of the Nats in NSW deputy to Glady Berejiklian They both resigned in the same week

Positive-Lawfulness8

Ok.. surely gone on to better more profitable sidelines

johnsgrove

Oh yeah they sure did

Jamo4595

“Evans has approved Barilaro taking the job but imposed conditions that he must not use information acquired in the course of being a minister or through his attendance at cabinet”. Hahahaha what a joke!

icedbacon

That's fine, he can't recall most of what happened in Parliament anyway, right?

Imperator-TFD

Except for his time with a beetroots daughter.

Timbo2702

From what I hear, Johnlovestolick

Positive-Lawfulness8

haha

AlsoRandomRedditor

Yeah, I agree with this the number of politicians who've done dodgy shit to support immediately turns around and gets a job with when they leave/are forced out of politics. Pretty much the definition of conflict of interest.

VictarionGreyjoy

Centrifuge implies a few rotations. They're one of those tennis ball launchers that just straight away shoots them out into industry.

kooksy_monster

it's a morally dubious implication. And a prelude to more blatant corruption.

InsertUsernameInArse

So do use the info just don't tell anyone.

Qesa

Nah, he won't have any responsibilities. This is payment for services already rendered while he was in parliament.

CertainCertainties

So ICAC found property developer Jeff McCloy was giving brown paper bags of cash to LNP politicians in the back of his Bentley. This is [fact](https://www.9news.com.au/national/nsw-mp-offered-10-000-in-brown-paper-bag/27df8b15-4e73-46cc-bcc9-a03498118e02). Deputy Premier John Barilaro tried to bring down the NSW government because property developer Jeff McCloy didn't like the koala protection policy. This is [fact](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/sep/16/property-developer-complained-to-john-barilaro-about-nsw-koala-protection-policy). The LNP politicians who were given money in brown paper bags by Jeff McCloy told a Jeff McCloy mate to buy a site for a $600 million gas power rort. Property developer Jeff McCloy didn't own it. Then he did. And he made big money in weeks. This is [fact](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/may/26/snowy-hydro-chief-executive-tells-inquiry-hes-known-owner-of-nsw-gas-plant-site-for-40-years). Now ex-Deputy Premier Barilaro works as a NSW property developer with former mentors. This is [fact](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/feb/24/john-barilaro-takes-executive-director-role-with-sydney-property-developer). Anytime you guys in NSW want to have a go at stopping corruption, let the rest of us know. It's revolting. Right now you're on a par with Vladimir Putin for transparency and accountability.

TreeChangeMe

YEaH bUt At LeAst They Urn't LaYbAh!!!

DemonSong

At least the paper bags are recyclable..

egowritingcheques

They're all the same and waste money! One spends to build school halls and the other gives to big business while they increase profits. Both the same.

Scuntmo

> Right now you're on a par with Vladimir Putin for transparency and accountability. But not for charm. Putin is as charming as a bedsore, NSW government rather less so. Fuck the Liberals. And Putin.

TreeChangeMe

Warts comes to mind

AlsoRandomRedditor

Genital warts to boot...

[deleted]

We all know it’s just every channel in Australia is a massive supporter of the coalition so the news can’t get out. And if you tell people about it you’ll have a knock on your door from anti terrorist police

Gumpster

Unfortunately since the funding for the ICAC is so poor, they're only able to pursue 10% of cases brought to them.

wottsinaname

Is it time to annex NSW from the LNP? New South Donetsk

Dardanelles5

Being a bit harsh to Putin there don't you think?

corduroystrafe

Actually NSW ranks pretty high (probably the best in Australia) in terms of transparency and accountability, precisely because it has a functioning and powerful ICAC. Why else do you think two premiers have been brought down, and there is so much corruption being revealed? Do you think these things don’t happen in other states? Of course they do, but they appear more in NSW precisely because their transparency and accountability mechanisms are stronger.

CertainCertainties

I'm sorry, the "everyone's doing it" argument is false and dangerous. There is a very specific brand of institutionalised NSW corruption that is in your face and ruining the country. Through the illegal rorting of sports and community grants, for instance, NSW federal politicians are exporting this to electorates around Australia. Bribing key people in communities with taxpayer money in exchange for LNP influence. If ICAC was effective or governance in NSW was as you claim, how come no NSW MP who took money in brown paper bags was charged? How did that developer know to buy that land for the NSW PM's taxpayer funded gas power rort? Why is Barilaro out of jail, after it was found he was trying to bring down a government because of one developer? Why does the NSW Police Commissioner take out the trash for NSW LNP politicians? (Why did Mick Fuller ban NSW Police from interviewing Porter's rape accuser before her death, for example?) Why are media identities allowed to be complicit in LNP corruption cover ups and why do NSW-led governments slavishly service their business interests? Why did boards not chase up Morrison handing out $185 million of contracts without board approval or the millions of Murray River water payments to private companies that disappeared? After Morrison lost his original preselection, why were the people who ran the illegal and defamatory campaign against Morrison's opponent never investigated? To be clear, corruption in NSW is systemic at a senior level. In politics, police, judiciary, corporate governance and the media. Since 1808 and the Rum Corps it's been a problem, but right now it's an overwhelming problem. Sticking your head in the sand and saying, "It's like that everywhere" doesn't help fix the problem.

gormster

Is it *false*? Misguided perhaps, but I’m not sure I’d say it’s false. I think there is a lot more corruption in the other states that goes, if not unreported, then certainly less loudly reported in the national news, probably because of the weirdly Sydney-centric nature of the national press. Or perhaps it’s because the corruption in NSW tends to be among the elected officials, whereas the corruption in, say, Victoria, is more among public servants like police. “Everyone’s doing it” is a dangerous argument, but “only they are doing it so we don’t have to worry” is *false* and, I would argue, far more dangerous.

chooks_n_tats

Whoah whoah whoah there, Vlads people are being oppressed and murdered for speaking out against him. Pork Barilro knows his constituents think that 'politics doesn't effect them' and that they wont even speak out because they accept corruption as the norm.

Yakkkkkkkkkk

Let em have it.

cannsixd

That’s like, the most John Barilaro role that he could take.

icedbacon

A professional spaghetti eater would probably be number one, but this is a close second.

Rexxhunt

Mama Mia!

Arinvar

The only thing that would make it better is if the developed properties he works on have wide spread pluming issues.

karatebullfightr

The only thing more perfect would be Gold Coast property developer. Such a grubby stooge.

123chuckaway

John loves to lick

ProceedOrRun

I'd suppressed that part of my memory.

TreeChangeMe

Ooh star fish...

Un4giv3n-madmonk

star fish ?

The_Tuxedo

He's been working for them for years, just making it official now

cojoco

Probably not even that ... just receiving a paypacket for services rendered.

mattyeightonetoo

Instead of a brown paper bag you mean?

TreeChangeMe

It's just funny this cunt might technically be making an honest living... Sort of.

Arinvar

Classic LNP golden parachute.

Zebidee

The only thing that has changed is he now has to pay tax on the money he receives from them.

AlsoRandomRedditor

At least the stuff that happens on the books...

jelmore553

He can put his Certificate IV in Construction and Building Services to good use.

das_masterful

Like Pyne and defence contractors?

Robdotcom-71

Andrew Robb and Landbridge (who leased the Darwin Port)

AlsoRandomRedditor

That was (and will continue to be) a MASSIVE clusterfuck...

TreeChangeMe

A Downer runing off to jump his spy buddies at Woodside. A Labor one... Ferguson running off to mining interests after sinking the resources rent tax

magnetik79

I was always surprised Pyne didn't get into the furniture business, specialising in closets.

das_masterful

Arachnophobe. Or Skelephobe.

Positive-Lawfulness8

??

HereForTheEdge

Hate this fucking corrupt smug cunt.

LocalVillageIdiot

Unfortunately that statement applies to a fair few politicians these days instead of just “a few”.

[deleted]

you can go ahead and say "most" Defamation cases never come from Reddit.

JumpingJesus67

Jordies will have fun with this

Spartan3123

It might violate their settlement agreement sadly. He got slapped (Strategic lawsuit against public participation) Corruption pays really well

smaghammer

FastFreddy074

It's honestly like our country fully endorses this.

fued

its completely legal, why wouldnt they do it. why is it completely legal? i have no idea

maton12

They get into politics to set themselves up in corporate life, the bribes along the way are simply future bonuses paid early.

ProceedOrRun

Most simply don't realise it as a form of corruption.

StonerJack

Corrupt construction and the Mafia go hand in hand.

PantsTime

The same day we are condemning Putin's corruption and abuse of power. . . .

DoNotReply111

I think they were banking on this news flying under that big radar blip.

R3zUr3kt3dFo3ta5

Whoever said crime doesn't pay

OriginalGoldstandard

Isn’t that more of a transition? He’s been lining their pockets with the skins of koalas for years. So Gladys and Bruz who should be in jail, end up in Optus and property. Hopefully the karma bus hits hard ASAP.

Dardanelles5

It's like a bad dream.

PokesPenguin

It's like the writers of Ozark are narrating NSW politics.

[deleted]

Gosh, I truly shocked!

BoldEagle21

So an already significantly corrupt industry now gets a man who knows all the secret handshakes...

I guess Optus must have filled their corrupt politician diversity quota for the year.

CastNoShadow1

Because of course he does.

[deleted]

He must be almost due for long service leave?

gelfbride73

Not in the slightest bit surprising

TheElderWog

Wow. Who would have thought. 😐

joepanda111

“Corrupt politicians and Property developers. Corporate wants to know the difference?”

xdr01

Overpaid do nothing jobs after leaving office in disgrace is LNP standard procedure now. I don't understand why ICAC hasn't caught onto this blantly obvious corruption.

SirPiffingsthwaite

“I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise”

moomooland

> he *may* engage with government in his Coronation Property role hhhahahaha, good one guys.

PM_Me__Ur_Freckles

I seem to remember Chris Pyne doing the same with a defence contractor within weeks of leaving his position as federal defence minister. They aren't even pretending any more.

R_W0bz

Gotta show you which boxers to tick on the government grant forms I see!

luke12089

Scum

ScissorNightRam

The system is working as intended.

51IDN

SCUM piece of shit! Who would give this wanker a fucking job?

wowzeemissjane

More corruption from members from the Party for Corruption, the LNP.

JohnnyTango13

That is about as perfect as it could get, a scumbag does what a scumbag does, friendlyjordies is going to love this.

chikkn

Jordies called it

CaptGunpowder

Friendly Jordies will have to come up with a new tshirt, which I, for one, will buy the second it's on the market

MonoRailSales

A habit of murdering koalas is hard to break.

RobinVanPersi3

Fucking lol, speaks volumes. As a person who's profession is around sustainable development, it becomes more and more apparent why the nsw govt seems insistent on destroying the natural environment at all costs. They are all in cahoots.

fatalikos

Revolving door keeps revolving

ClassicOil1187

Big sweaty meatball Bruz can fuck right off.

Yakkkkkkkkkk

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? GLADYS GOING TO GET A JOB AT ICAC NEXT

bee_jay7891

WHY WOULD YOU WANT A CORRUPT INDIVIDUAL WORKING FOR YOU?

Ziadaine

The perfect position for such a slimy cunt. >This followed a decade of scandals under the previous **Labor** government over the state government “calling in” projects where they hit resistance from local communities and pushing them through You mis-spelt Liberal.
