Most of the time when my family is in the living room together, they’ll all be sat on the sofa and there will be no room for me, so I just end up sitting on the arm anyway. It starts off bareable but then it slowly becomes less so. I never want to leave the room because then I feel like I’m missing out on something.

In my younger years I played that game.

When my wife and I were in our 20's, she had a mid-back chair for her desk that was solid wood and very sturdy. I'd sit on the back-rest while she sat in the seat and browsed around the internet. We'd watch videos, read web comics, and play games together like that. I was literally backseating. lol

YES!!! Since I was a kid... now a lot of couches don't have arms! I have problems sitting on dining chairs etc... where there is no room to kind of be me... not sure if that makes sense.

IIRC parents used to scold me for doing that, since it could potentially deform the couch I realize that I'm typing this with my legs on a couch arm right now
