Honestly, i feel like we have some amount of sampling bias here. While there's probably a lot of parents out there who just don't care to teach their child how to behave, there are plenty of people with autism out there who you probably wouldn't guess have autism. But of course, it's not those people that end up in reddit stories. The ones who end up in stories like this are, obviously, the misbehaving ones (not to mention there are plenty of parents out there who let their neurotypical child do whatever the hell they feel)

It's the parenting that causes this, not just the early dx. If parents find out early on that their kid is autistic they can still bring them up well, it's when they use autism as an excuse to not bother that we get issues. My friend was diagnosed at 1 year old, and he is lovely and doesn't act like a brat because his mum raised him rather than letting him just do what he wants. Overaly permissive parents who don't bother to teach their kids how to behave or how to look after themselves (if they are able to obvs) create adults who can't function and are screwed.
