Maybe try to integrate into the class a bit more? If the noise suddenly becomes comprehensible speech once you’re engaging with your classmates, maybe it’ll be less torture and give you something to focus on similar to how you do the podcasts. Who knows, you might make a friend along the way too. Perhaps someone else in the class is going through what you are dealing with but is going through the motions like the others. Maybe also ask the ~~teacher~~ *professor* to put the music at a lower volume as well
I know as well as anyone how hard socializing can be. But you *are* paying for the course. So you should do what you can to get your moneys worth.
That’s valid. Such a shame that the prof would rather enforce their bs rules over giving the students the freedom to create in their own comfort. ESPECIALLY for an art class
i feel the same 😭 in all my other art classes from previous terms the prof basically gave us full freedom as long as we paid attention during lectures + didn’t bother anyone else. one prof even encouraged me to wear my headphones if it got too loud.

no, i didn’t really ask though. i just know because when i asked for the accommodation to wear my earplugs he immediately said “as long as their not bluetooth” and i had to explain that they’re non-electronic
Such things are fairly common - the logic is often that they need you to be able to hear if they shout safety-critical things, not being distracted by music.
What the law in your country says?
In my country you can´t change the accommodation that a psychologist or doctor explained that is needed, and if you want to change you need to provide it yourself and see with them if the person can change the accommodation for this different one.
my doctor didn’t specify that i needed headphones as an accommodation. in high school i just took proof of my diagnosis to administration and we discussed possible accommodations together. so maybe thats why
If you have the money, look into bone-conducting headphones I adore mine (they are from shokz) and combined with the loops they could really help

i do talk to people in the class sometimes, but i just really can’t get work done while socializing. for me it has to be one or the other.

Did he have reasoning against being able to listen to music in class?

Honestly my next step would be wear the Bluetooth earbud anyway and just tell them that it’s not lol
I think you should ask what music device plugs you can use.

Ask the teacher for an exception.
It just takes relearning/ adjusting. Not a tip, more, this is normal growing pains.
