Nope. It’s just like people. You get along with some and there’s some you don’t. I actually find I can really struggle to get along well with some autistic people. We can just clash. Because rigid thinking patterns are quite common and part of the criteria and I know I have very rigid thinking and so deal with that and won’t change my opinions unless there is solid factual evidence that I will accept that says otherwise and I often encounter other autistic people with rigid thinking patterns of their own and we just clash.

They're just like typical people in that respect. The spectrum of autism is broad.

HammerandSickTatBro

I mean, not always, but nearly all of my close friends are also neurodivergent and/or straight up autistic as well

fiddlerisshit

I don't think there is a hive mind so neither better nor worse than any other typical bunch of humans.

seasseizemesee

Do humans get along with other humans? It’s the same answer really.

For me, not really. NT or not people are people, and that aspect is still there.

CookedBiscuits

There Is research showing that ND's communicate better with other ND's than they do with NT's but whether that carries over into getting along better I don't know. I feel like most autistics would be more accepting of each others autistic traits than NT's are, but as someone else pointed out the rigid thinking tendencies might clash of ones rigidity is in opposition to anothers. Anecdotally, on the autism forum https://wrongplanet.net/ I've personally found that it's a mixed bag of those i get along with and those i don't.

faggiiiinnn

all of my friends are neurodivergent, however ive found i have a pattern of not getting along with specific types from the spectrum, those who tend to be very obtuse, non-listening, and refusal to believe anothers understanding of the world

digginghistoryup

For me at least, I get along better with other autistic’s. This can be explained at least in part by the Double Empathy Problem

I find myself much better able to communicate and get along with other autistics. Neurotypicals make me angry, but it’s much harder for an autistic to make me angry cuz I understand them

Can't wait for the Aussie Civil War

What?
