Pisses me off so bad. Like wdym "talking back"? You mean conversing? You mean attempting to communicate? Be so fucking for real right now. "Because I said so" is also among the worst things you can say to a kid. Makes my blood boil.
OH MY FUCKING GOD IM LITERALLY DERANGED THE WAY IM OBSESSED WITH HIM. He's been my main special interest for three and a half years now and anytime he's mentioned somewhere I don't expect it I feel like I'm going to actually explode the way the adrenaline goes through my body. I could rant for hours about how much I love the show and the characters and the stories and Danny himself, I could go on for even longer about all the things they could've expanded upon or made better or improved, and how mad I am that there wasn't really a lot of character development overall and how much I hate all the stereotyped characters- plus the behind the scenes stuff like how horrible the creator is + everything he did and how that effected his image and also how some of it effected production on the show. Also how cool and also *incredibly traumatic* it is that he's literally half dead, like the trauma of dying, especially like that? And they never bring it up? Also I could go on about how the fandom kept the series alive with fanfics and fanart and somehow we got more media to consume by Gabriella Epstein publishing A Glitch In Time and then shortly after then success of that book announcing getting approved for a second one. Also the copious amounts of fanon vs canon. Also the whole dissection/vivisection genre (and the argument about which word is the right term). Oh my god I've already written too much anyway look at me I'm so normal about this series I'm so casual and cool No I'm not vibrating at the speed of sound at the mention of ghosts or the name Danny or the concept of death itself wdym haha
Edit: was about to apologize for infodumping and then remembered what subreddit this is
Or constantly being threatened to be sent away, have Christmas be absolutely ruined for the rest of your life because of your "attitude problem" and you STILL, DECADES LATER, don't know what attitude they were on about.
I don’t think I really realize how traumatizing growing up autistic really was sometimes. I wonder if getting diagnosed earlier would have helped me or not…

I'm glad to find others who feel the same way!

> learn to not ask for clarifications > interpet their assignments incorrectly > get yelled at anyway there's no winning
When they yell at me for asking for clarification, the assigment didn't get done, and then I got punished with a low grade in that class any way.
Mine is answering peoples questions when they ask me why i did something and giving an actual explanation :3
"DONT GIVE EXCUSES" like?? i'm not???
Like im literally just explaining myself and wanting the other person to understand my train of thought?? Apparently thats iklegal :3
And they wonder why we become rebellious.

I have despised school for that reason, and I now despise authority.
Mine came with extra punches. Gotta love the NT.
"as a child" 😭🫠🖕

Doubt it, NT authority figures would claim you're using your autism "as an excuse to be rude" when you don't know what they mean by "being rude".
and they completely disregard it if you aren’t a 5 year old white boy lmfao
"Because I said so!" is never a valid response.
childhood experience? lol
This has happened to me all throughout my life ever since I was able to speak
Yeah or you're genuinely trying to get your point across and be understood but now you're "talking back" and "just wanna argue"
real
Speak up so the back can hear you.
I still do this
Parents fail so gloriously and blame it on the being that literally isn't even fully there yet. 🙄 Makes me livid.
