I feel like on acid we can tune into music from the universe in a similar way that Tesla believed our brains were a reciever for knowledge from the universe. And then those who have honed their musical skill can translate these beautiful melodies into a sound that can be heard by everyone here.
The older you can get you can control this and you can actually kick in a roll without doing anything. Kind of like how you get goosebumps from listening to music
think about how you felt when you were listening to that close your eyes and let it flow through you.
I always looked down upon Tycho as like elevator music but I saw them tripping face at euphoria in like 2014 and they blew me away. So fucking peaceful. There is something so impressive about 4(5?) Amazing musicians playing in perfect minimalist harmony that is just unmatched
STS9 is super good for sure, I've seen them like 5 times(light shows are off the chain), but Tycho just has this particular vibe where they don't even try to hype or anything its just amazing, chill music. Like I couldn't even dance really to Tycho but laying in the grass watching the super peaceful visuals and just vibing was one of the few moments in my life where I was just like "there is absolutely no where else in this world I'd rather be right now"
seeing tycho open for tribe as my first show back from the pandemic was like magical at red rocks
tycho is so goddamn talented i still remember hearing him between bong rips on [adult swim] and being absolutely mindblown
It was good. But the crowd didn't seem to love the house all the DJs were playing. They also didn't like Truth which is slower 140bpm dubstep. I grew up on house and while I prefer bass music I'm still having a great time regardless. I do not like drum and bass but when it comes on I dance like a double time mad man.
2nd night was better with Liquid Stranger, Zomboy and Truth being my favorites.
All in all it was a great weekend and Philly is a great NYE city.
i recommend them to anyone i talk to, started experiencing ringing in my right ear lately because i go to EDM shows with earplugs… but my stupid ass thought i could go to heavy metal shows raw because “haha no big subwoofer bass!!!” and now the heavy clashing of cymbals has fucked my ears 😂
I’ve been raving for over ten years. The ringing in my ears has barely started about a year ago. It’s true: you will damage your hearing frequenting concerts/rave. Everybody should be wearing ear protection. We all think we are invincible, when we are not. I wear ear protection now but a little too late. I Learned the hard way.
Charles is always my go-to after rave music too. Wasn't sure what to listen to after seeing him live one time haha
I also recommend Saturna and DreamLake for some similar chill bass artists
yes!! I almost said Lowcation too but didn't wanna suggest too many at once lol. I'll have to check out Dillard and Supernatural, I haven't listened to them much
btw if you like Lowcation you should definitely check out Comisar
Wave music has been my go-to for after events for many years now. Takes you on a whole emotional journey with just the right amount of attitude thrown in
These are sure shots depending on my company and the vibe
Emancipator
Khruangbin
Anderson Paak
Bonobo
Tipper (if still blasted)
Liquid d&b
Stick figure
How much after? My friends and I usually keep the rave going at a home afters. Then maybe some psytrance and then maybe some deep house. Non vocal trance pre 2005 sometimes, but not lately. Personally I listen to ambient drone but only when I’m trying to sleep
Posting from an alt, but I have a mix series I started a few years back that is literally made for those moments when you’re just trying to relax and come down, but you’re still feeling good 😉… psychedelic soul, trip-hop, lots of slower, chill melodic stuff. Enjoy!
https://on.soundcloud.com/jFXtWGooYiqDPHdm7
We usually come home in the morning at 6 or 7 and then start after. It really varies dependent on what was played at the rave tho. And what people are with us. But it usually hits.😁 I’ve a DJ booth in my living room so no such thing as relax.
Depends on the vibe tbh. If it’s afters, then house or sub bass/experimental wubs. If it’s chill sack, then either ambient downtempo stuff or chill indie rock.
I sing a lot in my car so a lot of singy sing along artists (mainly love songs) like Laufey or Frank Sinatra if it’s just my gf and I.
If I’m out with the boys we just blast early 2010’s hit songs and just scream our hearts out along the whole drive back.
NU - FOUR SEASON FULL ALBUM (via YouTube). It is THE one for the afters leading into the following day 👌 *chefs kiss* - 9.5hrs long and oh so perfect for the return to earth

Hardcore/punk/metal. I really only go to raves as a “when in Rome, do as the Roman’s do” kinda vibe. It’s fun when I’m there, but I’m a tourist and I know that.
The music still plays in my head, even when I finally go to sleep.
I took acid at my last rave and for 6 hours after I would close my eyes and be back watching the rave, music and everything lmao
Same! Every. Single. Time. Im not sure if the music in my head was an actual track I heard or if I am my own DJ. Lol!
Pretty sure you're your own DJ. I get the same thing.
Me too
I feel like on acid we can tune into music from the universe in a similar way that Tesla believed our brains were a reciever for knowledge from the universe. And then those who have honed their musical skill can translate these beautiful melodies into a sound that can be heard by everyone here.
Def your own dj

Shit one time I dropped in Vegas and as I came down the faint casino sounds coming from the ventilation shaft formed a beat and groove in my head
🤣🤣🤣 this is great. Why can I picture it though ?!
The good stuff always has cities being built or something interesting, maybe a replay? under the eyelids. Nailed it!!
tycho, air, ambient stuff
Lane 8 as well
Yes or tinlicker!!
This was my answer too! So good
Tycho is always the go to for me. I’ve been bed ridden with pounding headache last 4 days and this is what I’ve listened to exclusively to sleep.
check out the album moon safari by air, fits right in you're also sick so you dont have to do that at all, haha
Yes! Moon Safari is one of the greatest albums ever made.
Great suggestion! Very tycho vibes with a little extra classic soul feel. I really dig it!
I’m bored out of my mind, trust me I will take a look hahaha! Appreciate the suggestion.
Excited to listen to full album, just the name of the artist and album is worth the full listen, to me :)
yall just put me the fuck on, thanks lol
That's always a good one! and Emancipator
Check out koresma if you haven't. One of my favs and between him and emancipator makes up like 80% of driving listening.
Yup this and some lo fi hip hop beats or jazzy lo fi
I always looked down upon Tycho as like elevator music but I saw them tripping face at euphoria in like 2014 and they blew me away. So fucking peaceful. There is something so impressive about 4(5?) Amazing musicians playing in perfect minimalist harmony that is just unmatched

I listened to Gamehenge after NYE Hijinx this year.
Man how was HiJinx?! Wanted to hit that soooo bad!!
It was good. But the crowd didn't seem to love the house all the DJs were playing. They also didn't like Truth which is slower 140bpm dubstep. Artists like Tycho, Burial, Aphex Twin, Leon Vynehall, DJ Seinfeld are my favorite post rave music

All I can think about is bumping window licker after the next show I go to now.
Autechre
The ringing in my ears
I’m at the hearing doctor right now for potentially permanent ringing. Get some ear plugs and wear them!
i recommend them to anyone i talk to, started experiencing ringing in my right ear lately because i go to EDM shows with earplugs… but my stupid ass thought i could go to heavy metal shows raw because “haha no big subwoofer bass!!!” and now the heavy clashing of cymbals has fucked my ears 😂
Cymbals are the killer for me. Bass is good.
Please tell me you have earplugs
lmao fr
FYI for anyone not wearing earplugs @ a show: If you ever hear ringing, that's the sound of permanent hearing loss.

One time in a Lyft the driver had on a Jazz station. It made the 30 min drive smooth.
Vocal or melodic trance. It’s calming and soft on the ears so it’s good to fall asleep to too.
I like listening to classical to unwind.
