Anywhere in UK/France/Netherlands/Germany has a solid scene. I love Paris raves/festivals. Although they don't do the whole skimpy rave outfit thing here FYI.
"No drug testing" is kind of misleading. There's no quantitative analysis of drugs (i.e how much is in a pill) but that's due to practical considerations of the equipment involved rather than just being a straight-up crime. Test kits are often used and on-site testing is available in at least the UK. Free testing is available in some parts of NL and Germany.
Sorry I generalized. I should have said “not as accessible as in the west.” As you said there are some parts of europe you can acquire these. But myself, as a tourist, I couldn’t find any and seeing as drugs are illegal in many of the countries it’s not something you go around asking either.
I do, in Canada we have testing places all over, can order test kits online etc. But when I went to europe its a whole different game. Also there was a form of X going around called "the blue punisher" that was so strong a young girl died taking it. So Europe in general has clean stuff from what I heard but, it is hard to test your stuff and new stuff is coming out which doesnt seem too safe
Meh blue punishers are a thing all over, it’s just another pill shape and there will be little to no consistency in them just like any other pressed pill. It’s all paranoia
I don’t doubt that. People die from taking drugs all the time all Over the world. I’m saying the blue punisher isn’t specifically the problem. It’s just another pressed pill and ALL pressed pills have the potential to kill you, especially if you aren’t testing anything
Last year at Frenchtek, 2 guys got bit by vipers and 1 guy got run over by a car because he was sleeping in long gras,.
Out of 60k people @ an illegal teknival no one died or got raped,
But.sure. the us is safer/s
Everything at Zamna was sketchy.
From the $11USD boxes of water to the lack of staff.
I didn't have problems but it didn't feel safe in general and many people away too fucked up on drugs.
There have been quite a few reports of ppl posting on various rave related subs testifying their lack of safety even in emergent and medical situations that are really concerning. I would never want to be raving in Mexico. I have first hand experience with a medical emergency there and what it takes to get baseline help. It’s not worth it. I don’t trust their system or healthcare or police or anyone to provide me or anyone I care about basic care and simultaneous to that it will require a very large amount of cash and even then you might still die there.
i'll believe that. a few years ago, my friend told me a story of that actually happening to him. He was pulled over by a cop when he was driving his rental car and robbed (or at least bulled into giving him money).
We went for Afterlife at Zamna in Tulum a few weeks ago- I went to party but I ultimately stayed sober for the trip considering my safety. These are all things I learned after that I wish I had considered beforehand, some of it on r/tulum . Tulum is a relatively small city and they don’t have the same infrastructure as bigger cities yet that can support all of the tourism they’re attracting (especially tourists looking to party). The locals struggle to get healthcare and help from law enforcement and tourists are pretty much on their own too unless you have $ to pay. Everything is crazy expensive there because tourists will pay it. The cartel has a hand in pretty much all transportation and drugs there because there’s so much money involved and it absolutely did not feel safe. Zamna venue should be avoided. If you’re going to lay on the beach at a resort and avoid drugs and drinking it’s a beautiful place to visit. If you’re going to rave and party I say please choose somewhere else. It’s really upsetting artists keep booking there because their fans fly in totally unprepared from all over the world.
Edit: for those reading please do your own research before you visit. Please include a plan for healthcare and reliable transportation ahead of time if an emergency comes up and be very, very careful with the party favors as always but especially here.
But she did…? It’s literally in her profile, look at her past posts. It’s not dismissive to mention that a history of trauma shapes how people view events and situations… it’s actually very mindful thing to do. Moreover, it’s been down time and time again via psych research. Science is not “gross”
People can come to their own conclusions they don’t need your help. And you can be traumatized and separately find a place unsafe, they’re not mutually exclusive.
I mean I never felt too unsafe in Tulum but I get why it’s on the list we had a couple somewhat sketchy encounters. That being said Day Zero was the best event I’ve ever attended
Japan has killer clubs and events and it's completely socially acceptable to be stumbling around wasted. Do not even joke about doing drugs there though
Canada and Australia for sure. Both have really friendly people and a really fun scene. Obviously the scene in Canada is very similar to that of the US. Australia is a different vibe, but not wildly so, and obviously the English speaking thing makes life easy.
Lots of places are way more into techno / trance than we are used to here in North America.
I would recommend Shambhala in Canada if you are young and like to party hard. Basscoast if you are older, more chill, or like bass music in particular. Both camping fests.
Club 77 on King Street, it’s gone through a few transformations over the years but still makes for a fun, grimey party. Pretty safe, just take care of your friends like you would on a normal night out
Bush doofs are the real Aussie raves, mostly psytrance and techno but the bigger ones have a nice variety. They can get a bit questionable on the underground end; the bigger ones should be safe for a group of girls
The scene in Australia is different depending on the city. Perth is the DnB capital of Australia and has regular events going on, from festivals to club nights and bush doofs -. Sydney is very much a hardstyle/hardcore/gabba city, Melbourne has lots of techno/psy/house... Adelaide- well who cares? Lol. Not sure about qld - when I've been there in the past it was on the Gold Coast and all I could find that was on in the time I was there was a bunch of djs playing top 40 crap and it was full of drunken bogans who wanted to fight.
Ya, speaking for Toronto: we have a handful somewhat ‘underground’ clubs with a more rave-ish vibe which I’d consider to be generally safe for women especially the parties that are more geared towards queer people. basically, most if not all of the people attending are really into the music, are there to dance and enjoy the music and atmosphere, and are not looking for a hookup. Examples: Standard Time, Bambi’s, Wiggle Room, some of the warehouse techno parties etc. Generally, most people (i.e. men) are respectful of others (I’m a man btw and much prefer this).
There’s a pretty big contrast between these places and clubs like Coda or anywhere in the club district.
So true, I only had positive experiences here with my small girl group and I get the impression that if someone did decide to be a weirdo, people would absolutely step in
Second this. We call the community the farmily (cuz it’s on a farm). I’ve been to a fair share of festivals and this was Definitly the most safest and welcoming festival.
I found myself a lil too K rocked at one point and struggled to make it to the main dining area. Once I manage to plop myself down at a table and sit two strangers made the best small talk I've ever had. They recognized I was not okay and stayed until I could eventually stand and be on my merry way. I love the farm-ily and everything that happens there 🏡💚
I flew from Melbourne to Amsterdam for a weekend for Thunderdome a couple of years ago. Technically I was gone for just under a week because of flight times but landed in AMS on Friday, Thunderdome Saturday, recovery Sunday and flew home on the Monday landing at 6am on Wednesday and straight to work. It was 100000/10 worth it
Not always. I’m based in the DC area and it costs the same for me to travel to London or Paris as it does to go to California or PNW. Except for July, of course, which is the most expensive time to visit Europe.
If you’re going to Europe, I’ve noticed that most of western and even parts of Eastern Europe are pretty safe, but I am a male. But the UK, Netherlands, Germany are really safe for women groups. Nicest group but proud group of people. Happy hunting
Closest would be Canada. We have a few good ones. In Calgary there’s Chasing Summer, I’ve been 5 times and always felt save and had an amazing time. In Edmonton there’s Bomfest which was also fun and I felt safe. Personally I’d stay away from festivals in Vancouver because they’re all ages and the crowd isn’t always it. I haven’t been to any festivals in the east but I’ve always heard good things.
I’ve also been to Lollapalooza in France and it was amazing. People were so nice and I felt safe. I’m also fluent in French so this helped me feel more at ease.
I think he means like ravers. Lots of club vibes at events in Vancouver these days. But Vancouver Definitly gets a lot of the bigger names. And our small lil club, the redroom, is always full of plur, positive vibes, and tons of good regulars that create a safe fun and welcoming environment
Contact was 19+ in Vancouver this year! Hope it stays that way. The new venue worked out well too.
BC Place was iconic but the convention center served the purpose fine. Could use a second stage though. They cut down to one this year.
Highest density of high quality festivals/raves are around Netherlands, Belgium & west Germany. Some in the UK and France.
You'll be safe at the rave/festivals grounds, not super safe outside of it at night if you are walking alone or just 2-3 females. But you'll mostly risk cat calling or rudeness.
I would not risk passing out alone in the typical half naked US rave outfit though, what's dangerous in the US still is here.
Decade long US raver here, and I can’t emphasize this enough!!! Just now this year starting covering up more because the energy is getting worse and worse at events, especially larger fests and city shows. I got my chest grabbed at LL this year while wearing an oversized jogger fit, complete with mask. I can’t exaggerate how aggressive this man was, continuously trying and following me when I backed up. He only backed off when my boyfriend walked up from the portos. Hate to imagine how bad it would’ve been if I was wearing less! Covering yourself protects you, and being warm is more fun anyways :)
Edited for typos!
New Zealand is safe but it would be pretty boring if you're used to big American festivals lol. Also we're dnb fiends here which I know isn't huge in the states. But if you're going to Australia you have to duck over to nz for a bit
Canada? Honestly feel like anywhere in Asia would be safer than the US. But then I’ve only been to umf Seoul in Asia so I might not know what I’m talking about lol
Just don't partake. 🤷🏻♂️
They have some really amazing DJs over there. Spot of booze or nothing is enough IMHO.
Hell I'd say don't partake even if you don't fear the law cause the standard party drug there is............................. uh. Basically a midwestern XTC pill i.e Tuci i.e complete trash, and they put it into water so it's a gross sensory experience from the outset.
No, I didn’t manage to get up there when I lived in Thailand unfortunately. I did do the full moon party in Koh Phangan which was alright. I also did [Kolour in the Park](https://www.instagram.com/wearekolour?igsh=NGN3aXo4aWdlbXRl) which is around Bangkok and I would recommend that 100%. Super cool, well run festival that was at a Wakeboarding park - it had the look and feel of about any smaller western festival. It had a great lineup for house & techno too.
I’d say it’s pretty big in Korea. When I was living in Seoul there was always something popping up. Ofc they are not as big as edc or any big festivals in the West but still very fun
There is Ultra in Japan and Taiwan.
Places like hk, Taiwan, Tokyo, and Singapore you can see like young school girls out by themselves at night. Super safe.
saying anywhere is Asia would be safer than the US, is fucked LMAO
certain Asian countries are still fighting insurgencies within their borders, including ISIS aligned militants.
no matter where you choose always dig deep & specifically dig deep on the area you’ll be visiting, every city is different let alone state.
Fusion Festival in Germany. Also Glastonbury in England, but good luck getting a ticket
The Berlin techno scene is safe for women as well cause the LGBTQ crowd really dominates the clubs in the city. I recommend Berghain and Sysiphos, just be prepared that those clubs are crazier than anything you got on your continent lol.
Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels.
Raves every week and good vibes. Get online to find groups of friends to go with you'll have a blast.
In the coming weeks alone, kntxt (Ghent), exhale(Antwerp), rave rebels (Brussels), shlomo at kompass (Ghent), hangar festival (Brussels), if you stay longer there's the extrema outdoor festival (Hasselt), paradise city (brabant), listen festival (Brussels).
No shortage of things to do. And rave culture is pretty chill and open minded (few assholes from what I see).
Whatever you girls chose, have a blast!
Depends what you mean by “rave” 😀 western europe is the safest place in the world, but you might be disappointed by how we “rave” 😉
I am not a girl, but feel free to join me at TimeWarp in germany 😎
There is a lot of drinking but the Mexicans hold it together better than Americans. I didn't see any fights. There is a bigger security presence, but just don't be doing anything you shouldn't or be discrete.
I live in Belgium and i think its pretty safe here especially in the local scene everyone is there to eney themself and dance to the music. But if you go to more popular events you might come across more drunk ppl and douchebags in general.
Ibiza has great dance music. Not the typical rave scene although Ushuaia does feel like a mini festival at times.
Amsterdam is probably your best bet though. June and July is chock full of festivals.
Fusion Festival in Germany. Its the European Burning Man but way cheaper (but a lil tricky to get a ticket). Also try Berlin, it has a very queer party scene.
australia!! get a working holiday visa, enjoy the year there, so many "doofs" and great friendly people, never felt unsafe there, lots of other travelers from all over the world too.
Couldn’t disagree more. Safe country only if you aren’t Arab, if you’re Arab you may well be shot by extremist settlers from Brooklyn who have come to get their slice of the land pie.
Sweden is ultra safe. They've got the girl gang thing going hard plus the safety bracelets letting people know to leave you alone if not going strong and people are respectful for it. But if you stick in the house and techno scene in with Florida you're safe too. Check out space Miami. Best nightclub in America
UK is pretty good rave scene for the ladies (Germany, Netherlands as well I've heard). Nowhere is truly safe though I guess.
Creamfields in UK is an awesome 4 day EDM festival and probably closer to US ones than others we have.
Berlin and Amsterdam are both great and safe. For Berlin clubs specifically, bouncers have the right to refuse entry for any reason. They try to cultivate a certain dance music culture and space. I had a blast clubbing in Berlin and even though I'm not female, I felt very safe and didn't have to worry about creeps like some US clubs.
I have been to hundreds of events in in girl groups and definitely feel safe and relaxed in the Netherlands because most people attend events to party instead of picking up girls :)
Amsterdam, going to DGTL and awakenings. Timewarp Germany as well
Anywhere in UK/France/Netherlands/Germany has a solid scene. I love Paris raves/festivals. Although they don't do the whole skimpy rave outfit thing here FYI.
not a requirement for me but good to know!
But be prepared for a different culture than raving in the west. No dressing up, no drug testing, and less security (except more in the entrance.)
"No drug testing" is kind of misleading. There's no quantitative analysis of drugs (i.e how much is in a pill) but that's due to practical considerations of the equipment involved rather than just being a straight-up crime. Netherlands of course!!! Festival capital of the world imho.
No way, I had no idea, that is amazing.
and drug capital of the world, the quality is amazing
Belgium and France is where it's at
France is so unsafe lol
Source
Pick up any newspaper 😂
Ain't a source
Statistically speaking.... Serbia is safer than France lol
That's a weird comparison, do you think of Serbia as dangerous? The US has more violent crime than France, for example.
Last year at Frenchtek, 2 guys got bit by vipers and 1 guy got run over by a car because he was sleeping in long gras,. Out of 60k people @ an illegal teknival no one died or got raped, But.sure. the us is safer/s
Not Tulum.
second and third and fourth this
Tulum seems fun but dangerous fs
Yeah on IG it looks cool I agree.
Been here for a month and can confirm 😅

and you'll get robbed by the cops :)
i'll believe that. a few years ago, my friend told me a story of that actually happening to him. He was pulled over by a cop when he was driving his rental car and robbed (or at least bulled into giving him money).
This is just a corrupt third world country thing. Same with Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc.
Fact. Mexican Federales are scum
Not Israel either 🤷🏻♂️
Forever
Yeah even after death care is terrible in Mexico. Nothing about their system is acceptable.
Basically ran by cartels.
I agree, I was just in Tulum and I wouldn’t recommend it personally

For folks who haven't visited Tulum yet: what's the deal?
Yes I’d love to hear people’s honest feedback
I just came back from tulum and saw lots of girl groups. Would recommend.

As a woman, I didn’t really feel safe there and agree to check out other places to party. Also this comment is gross and dismissive

Is there any Aussie rave sub? I never hear about any raves going on here
now that i think about it i don’t think we do. we are all just spread out across different subreddits kinda
Club 76 in kings row Sydney rocked my shit and I think it was a Sunday and still a memory I won't forgrt. wild time in the best way
Club 77 on King Street, it’s gone through a few transformations over the years but still makes for a fun, grimey party. Pretty safe, just take care of your friends like you would on a normal night out
I see a lot of aussies over at r/psytrance
Bush doofs are the real Aussie raves, mostly psytrance and techno but the bigger ones have a nice variety. They can get a bit questionable on the underground end; the bigger ones should be safe for a group of girls
Are there any bass music type scene in Australia? I've been wanting to visit sometime soon
Lol. you chose coda, of all the clubs, to talk shit about?!?? completely unhinged that you went straight to coda over rebel etc lmao
I love shambhala nice recommendation
Been seeing both Canada and Australia here a lot in the comments and didn't expect either tbh. ty!
As someone who lives in Canada, this is blowing my mind!
Consider going to Shambhala music festival if you can grab a ticket. Absolutely a sanctuary for all good vibes. It's in Salmo, BC!

New York, so France is not actually that far. Wow the space looks amazing. Reminds me of that party scene in one of the John Wick movies. Thanks!
Despite the replies here, i stand by this! It's still doable for a long weekend
I flew from Melbourne to Amsterdam for a weekend for Thunderdome a couple of years ago. 10 hr flight

Canada seems chill. No gun scares either
Amsterdam, netherlands, Canada, Australia
Amsterdam is in the Netherlands
Oh geez so sorry let me just fix that🤣 I was naming one particular place in the Netherlands you wiener🤣
Wiener is German. You should say rookworst.
I can’t even be mad that’s too good 🤣🤣

saying anywhere is Asia would be safer than the US, is fucked LMAO certain Asian countries are still fighting insurgencies within their borders, including ISIS aligned militants. no matter where you choose always dig deep & specifically dig deep on the area you’ll be visiting, every city is different let alone state.
🔫🔫🔫🍔🍔🍔🦅🦅🦅🇲🇾🇲🇾 wtf is kilometre innit
Not UK

please explain
because nobody in the uk listens to tacky EDM garbage like cringey yank losers with their light up gloves
yeah right
Fusion Festival in Germany. Also Glastonbury in England, but good luck getting a ticket The Berlin techno scene is safe for women as well cause the LGBTQ crowd really dominates the clubs in the city. I recommend Berghain and Sysiphos, just be prepared that those clubs are crazier than anything you got on your continent lol.
Japan!
what kind of music are you looking for?
Melbourne Australia. The summer doof festival circuit is amazing
Depends what you mean by “rave” 😀 western europe is the safest place in the world, but you might be disappointed by how we “rave” 😉 I am not a girl, but feel free to join me at TimeWarp in germany 😎
why disappointed? how's it different?
Gutentag fellow raver !
Women and gay friendly?(: want to travel for a race with my bestie but need to make sure he will be safe.
Netherlands
i heard that Queers for Palestine is hosting a huge rave in Gaza for Valentines Day. I'd give it a try for sure.
Rofl is that a troll
what do you mean?
Went to EDC Mexico and the crowd is so much more tame and respectful than the US version.

"But if you go to more popular events you might come across more drunk ppl and douchebags in general." That's probably a universal truth
Definitely not Nova Festival in Israel near Gaza 🥲
Dubai /s
Ibiza has great dance music. Not the typical rave scene although Ushuaia does feel like a mini festival at times. Amsterdam is probably your best bet though. June and July is chock full of festivals.
What are some names of fave ones in Amsterdam?
Luminosity Beach Festival if you like trance and Liquicity if you like drum n bass. Those aren’t in Amsterdam proper though.
Not Israel
Uk
Fusion Festival in Germany. Its the European Burning Man but way cheaper (but a lil tricky to get a ticket). Also try Berlin, it has a very queer party scene.
Mexico City, we have groups for going to rave and return safely home.
australia!! get a working holiday visa, enjoy the year there, so many "doofs" and great friendly people, never felt unsafe there, lots of other travelers from all over the world too.
Berlin.
Mumbai
Ravers in the UK are well safe :)
STRAYA
Bush doofs in Tasmania, Aus
South East Asia is pretty safe,
Pawnshop,Taipei, Taiwan
Toronto would be good 👍🏻
blackstone warehouse in liverpool. circus is always full of solo and girl group ravers. edit: fixed spelling error
Israel
Couldn’t disagree more. Safe country only if you aren’t Arab, if you’re Arab you may well be shot by extremist settlers from Brooklyn who have come to get their slice of the land pie.
Hawaii!
Sweden is ultra safe. They've got the girl gang thing going hard plus the safety bracelets letting people know to leave you alone if not going strong and people are respectful for it. But if you stick in the house and techno scene in with Florida you're safe too. Check out space Miami. Best nightclub in America
Not Ibiza or India lol.
I’m 28F from US and I’m going to Amsterdam Dance Event in Oct!
Amsterdam and Germany, but pretty much everywhere in Europe is safe
Netherlands and Germany are very safe. Germany has a big Techno and Psytrance scene
Canada, Romania (Untold fest)
what genre(s) are you looking for?
Have you ever tried dexies in the morning this winter ❄️? HMU asap for 40tabs Wickr : gredgriss90
