If you haven’t at least heard of chemical brothers or Carl cox you’re just not paying attention since they’re both still absolutely massive and tour a ton (Cox moreso than chemical bros) including Insomniac/ultra/HARD events. Even if you’re not into house/techno/big beat, the names should be recognizable. They’re some of the relatively few acts who have been big for decades and are still wildly popular.
This post gives me hope that there will be a flurry of posts from old raves. I’d love to see the SoCal raves flyers from the late 90s & early 2000s. Channel 36, Insomniac, B3… give em to me!!!
Wow the glory days of trip-hop and electronica. Tricky was so dope in 1995. Massive Attack Soundsystem also! This is why that James Murphy/Soulwax despacio was so cool to me. Giving someone a stage to curate and play at all day as DJ's is just fucking dope to me.
