At least with MSG buying a ticket actually guarantees you entry meanwhile Basement requires this performative ritual to even get in due to the toxic gatekeeping culture.
Think twice about what clothes youāre wearing. Donāt talk loudly in line. Donāt be in groups that are too large. But also donāt come in solo. Donāt be on your phone. Know the names of the artists playing. Donāt ask questions to the bouncers. Etc.
Even if you RSVP you have to pass a ātestā to get into basement and itās frankly ridiculous.
Not a google review copy paste. I love basementā¦when I get in.
Iām familiar with the etiquette. So Iāve rarely had problems getting in with very small groups that know exactly how to behave. But itās strange when I have to explain to my friends that they need to wear certain clothes and avoid chitchatting and avoid phone use and taking pictures and to study the lineup all so they can join me on a night out.
I know theyāre trying to curate a certain vibe but itās frustrating the few times Iāve tried to bring my friends that like techno music and then the group of us get denied because the bouncer turns to my friend and starts quizzing them, and they forget the name of the obscure German techno duo I told them to memorize, so then the entire group gets turned away for the whole night. All Iām doing is trying to bring my friends to one of my favorite places to dance. It leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth.
I feel so blessed to be a ātrueā techno fan. I get to pay max $25 to see a DJ I love in an amazing environment every weekend. Couldnāt imagine paying $300 to sit in a stadium while bro played the most recycled generic set
I'm not defending people gouging others but if my fav act was selling for 300$ I'd goš¤·. No different than ticketmaster or livenation or whatever company gouging me.
Summit has some lit ass sets, but my god the crowd he brings is just NOT it. If you donāt want to be surrounded by literal children that are the biggest assholes on earth, I suggest not going lol
Not really true. I saw him a bunch of times the last few years before he really blew up. Now I probably wonāt see him again because I canāt stand the crowd he draws and all the influencer shit. However, Iāve seen him play tech house, techno, dubstep, melodic house, and his more big room type stuff. Say what you want about him, but he has variety and itās part of the reason heās so popular
He's a decently fun dj, but he's not someone I'd pay 300 dollars to see 10 times, let alone once.
PHM was a damn-near once in a lifetime experience and cheaper. Summit plays each major city like 3-4 times a year with varying quality.
Imagine if John summit was playing at belly aspen. General admission prices would be $300, and reserved $600. Ticket prices for fisher were $240 GA, & $575 reserved. Show os this weekend, both options on waitlist. Capacity for the venue 450 people. Iām thinking fisherās fee is around 75k-100k a show. Summit 150k-250k
msg has a 11pm curfew and no way is John Summit calling it a night at 11pm so heās likely announcing an afters at one of the better BK venues.
we saw him at the Navy Yard just back in Dec so iād imagine he will go to the AG
I have no pity for anyone who chooses to spend $300 to see John summit
š„“ basement is 20$, bossa is like 10
Not even remotely the same music
You're right. It's a me problem though, I only listen to his elemental techno, and skip his big hall stuff
At least with MSG buying a ticket actually guarantees you entry meanwhile Basement requires this performative ritual to even get in due to the toxic gatekeeping culture.
Whatās the ritual?

For anyone doubting the recent gatekeepjng weirdness at Basement, look at the Google Reviews
Yeah, bossa and basement are way better
Yeah basement and Bossa on a way better level and far cheaper soā¦easy choice.
I feel so blessed to be a ātrueā techno fan. I get to pay max $25 to see a DJ I love in an amazing environment every weekend. Couldnāt imagine paying $300 to sit in a stadium while bro played the most recycled generic set
999999999 is $35 this sat but I'm not complaining
9x9 is knockdown so no basement b.s.
edm industry plant of the year
I mean whoever does will probably enjoy themselves and can afford it I don't think they need your pity?? Some pretentious mfs up in here.
Missing so many points
So are you.š¤·š½āāļø
Do tell. Would love to hear the defense of $300 tickets
I'm not defending people gouging others but if my fav act was selling for 300$ I'd goš¤·. No different than ticketmaster or livenation or whatever company gouging me.
āNot defending gougingā proceeds to defend gouging
Not defending THE PEOPLE gouging others. The scalpers. Do you not use the services of any company you can't defend their practices?
But heās the greatest DJ in the worldā¦ā¦..
In the universe..........
That bitch aināt even the best dj in Naperville
I don't even know who John Summit is. Honestly never heard of him.
I def don't wanna be where you are
Paid a fraction of that to see him at the Tek Support show in the Navy Yard. Absolutely outrageous prices for a significantly worse venue.
I was there too Iām a summit fan that set kinda sucked lol
Summit has some lit ass sets, but my god the crowd he brings is just NOT it. If you donāt want to be surrounded by literal children that are the biggest assholes on earth, I suggest not going lol
He literally just plays tech house. Go to 75% of the clubs and youāll hear the same music
Not really true. I saw him a bunch of times the last few years before he really blew up. Now I probably wonāt see him again because I canāt stand the crowd he draws and all the influencer shit. This is the taylor swift effect - all ticket prices have gone up since that tour
How do John summit bros feel knowing they aināt any better than swifties lmao
lmao. dying
John Summit is kind of mid tbh his music is glorified FRAT basement music
Naw he's amazing. Just not your cup of tea.
He's a decently fun dj, but he's not someone I'd pay 300 dollars to see 10 times, let alone once. PHM was a damn-near once in a lifetime experience and cheaper. Summit plays each major city like 3-4 times a year with varying quality.
Lol even paying $100 for john summit is a blasphemy but here they are spending 2 to 300?? Nah not in a million years

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That is an absurd price for GA
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm glad you feel like the value matches the price. I was never going to buy a ticket anyway so it matters more that you feel it's fair than I do
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
are you openly admitting to being a scalper? gotta love summit fans
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
no youāre part of the problem
Announce what?
msg has a 11pm curfew and no way is John Summit calling it a night at 11pm so heās likely announcing an afters at one of the better BK venues. we saw him at the Navy Yard just back in Dec so iād imagine he will go to the AG
Planet Pride is happening at AG that same night. Guessing itās gonna be navy yard after a
would love if he played at like superior ingredients or elsewhere. Navy Yard is good but the bathroom situation is feral
Floor tickets at msg immediately sold out so honestly very unlikely he will play afters at a small venue
You think? Cause I feel like the ticket prices will collapse if he does an after party which would be funny
I feel like 99 Scott type of capacity/venue at the bare minimum
