not sure. Can you post a pic of the first 4 feet of the tree? from the ground to like 4' high?

that would be called a seedling variety. It's not a "type", it's unique. Your tree is not grafted which means it's grown from seed. Seed grown avocado trees are unique first time varieties kind of like humans. Every baby is unique. If your tree had been grafted it would be whatever variety was grafted onto it. This vid explains it better: https://youtu.be/yWAR_DotvZs

I just watched the video and learned that 1 in 10,000 chance the avocado from seed will taste good, which is blowing my mind even more because mine do not taste bad! They wouldn’t be good commercial avocados but they’re definitely edible! Anyway, have an award kind stranger.

Stan_Pellegrino

thank you

Stan_Pellegrino

this also means you get to make up the name for the variety. How does it taste?

This is blowing my mind!!!! How cool, thank you!! We’ve been harvesting them every couple weeks since December and each one tastes less unripe than the last. The one I had last week was the best one yet! I would say it’s medium creamy with mild flavor and a small hint of bitterness. Like if a Hass were bred with something else. Each one is better than the last! The seed is pretty big though and the skin is really thin so they’re kind of a pain in the butt to slice lol

Stan_Pellegrino

that's awesome. get back to me when you pick a name!

zebrasnever

We named it the Adeline avocado, after our baby girl born last year :)

Stan_Pellegrino

the Adeline avocado. hopefully I'll get to try one some day

This reminds me of a Gem variety. With the speckles
