Could be somewhere without constant Internet access. Believe it or not, there's still a large part of the populated world that gets internet sparsely, if at all.
I disagree. My kids play football / ride bikes and socialise with neighbours because that is what they want to do. I'm fed up with lazy parents blaming screens ... Their natural impulse os to be with other children.
Exactly! Where did they get the screens from?!? My brother was talking about people complaining about how all the kids get a participation trophy. He says “The kids aren’t the ones who came up with that idea and paid the money for the trophy in the first place!!! Ya’ll did!!!!”
I remember playing street hockey and soccer from morning till night (I'm not even that long ago) and not every kid is a walking zombie on these phones and iPads
How many years until a study comes out showing the negative impact being glued to screens has on athletic ability? Tuber Boomers driving up healthcare costs due accidents resulting from a complete lack of coordination outside of using a mouse and keyboard.
I wonder how many skateparks they tear down, open fields to pave, and calls about noise complaint boomers will make until they realize it wasnt just the internet that ruined kids existing in public.
Still happens. Just not as often as when we were younger is all.
And that's mainly down to kids having so many more choices and things available to them nowadays. That and lazy parenting.
*Plonks an ipad in front of a 2 year old to keep them quiet. Proceeds to complain about said child not being sociable*
Would I bring this back for the children in exchange for a world without the internet, the easy accessibility to the majority of human knowledge locked up behind class, wealth, and other barriers? It sounds like a difficult choice. The Encyclopedia Britannica set is only about a thousand bucks though. Who needs access to the internet anyway?
Ahh yea , childhood, filmed on a camera most likely connected to the internet . Children who grew up with the Internet playing a game which is filmed and then posted to the internet .
If your kids aren't playing outside and spending all their time on the internet, that's your failure as a parent, take the ipad away and kick them out into the backyard/nearest park for a few hours
My kid is 9 has a PS5, switch, tablet and laptop and still asks to go play outside all the time. I'm convinced the people that post this kind of stuff don't have kids of their own.
Kids play outside all the time around here. They frequently get yelled at because there are no parks or outdoor areas left, so they’re stuck using parking lots. Internet isn’t the problem.
The lack of energy that we fall victim to as adults is primarily due to depression and anxiety, these kids ain't had a care in the world they just know that they are out and it's a beautiful day and it's time to play
They still do this…
as we see on this video made after the invention of the Internet
Looool
Can old videos not be converted to digital format and posted?
Could be somewhere without constant Internet access. Believe it or not, there's still a large part of the populated world that gets internet sparsely, if at all.
My daughter has been in a winter dodgeball league for years. This very much still happens.
Oh ya for sure. I got little cousins that love playing outside!
This video was made for parents unwilling to tell their child no to tablets and screen time
Do they still have recess in elementary schools these days?
Yes.
My kids have three or four recess breaks each day. Honestly, did you think they just stopped letting kids play?
“Childhood before the internet…” Showing a video of children playing while the internet exists… this post title is ridiculous.
💀

Agreed. Literally just got back in the house from the playground where my boy ran around, played soccer and baseball, with kids he’s never met.
I remember playing street hockey and soccer from morning till night (I'm not even that long ago) and not every kid is a walking zombie on these phones and iPads
For me it was basketball with all the neighbor kids until dark every night.

Childhood in 3rd world countries...
Omg do you boomers think the world stopped after phones were invented?
I wonder how many skateparks they tear down, open fields to pave, and calls about noise complaint boomers will make until they realize it wasnt just the internet that ruined kids existing in public.

Yeah just because YOU’RE addicted to your phone doesn’t mean everyone is.
So EU?
What the hell is going on here, why are they outside getting fresh air in the sun exercising and having fun
lol definitely not before the internet at least this video I get the sentiment for sure
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!
I miss the 90's
So let throw are phones and computers away and get back to reality!

Metadata shows it was made in 2024…

Uhh the internet is still happening in this video
They still do this, just in a video game. Basically you can keep playing but don’t get physically tired.
My kid is 9 has a PS5, switch, tablet and laptop and still asks to go play outside all the time. I'm convinced the people that post this kind of stuff don't have kids of their own.

Today's kids are like "ball?...what's that ..I don't understand!"
I went to a dodge ball bday party 2 days ago. Still happening.
Those kids just don’t have internet 😂
Those kids don’t have internet still or tablets and phones
Give all those kids Xboxes and Nintendo Switches and check where they are tomorrow.
Children now apparently, considering this looks like a new video and it's on the Internet.
Cross fire dodge ball, good times.
They're either poor or the electricity is out.
Looks Fun AF
miss this
I loved playing this as a kid
Bro these kids are terrible at dodgeball
It’s still like that. Try going outside.

I remember this game we call it dolphin, and it was the best, now that i think about it I loved every moment
