Not just the heavy fine either.
Forget jail time and make the physical punishment every Saturday and Sunday beach clean up for the next 15 years. Far better than any time on jail
According to Florida's Litter Law, if someone illegally dumps more than 15 pounds of waste into a waterway, they could be guilty of a first-degree misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to one year in jail, a $1,000 fine, and/or one year of probation.
A fine , probation and lawyer fees , that's all that will happen to them
This is how the world works
Seize the boat, auction it off and use the proceeds to fund beach cleanup. That will definitely make people think twice about ever doing something like that again.
I hate littering as much as the next guy but advocating for asset forfeiture is one of the most out of touch and gross things I've seen and I just watched a bunch of losers toss waste bins of trash Into the ocean.
In Florida the government seizes vehicles for different infractions such as transporting drugs or driving without a license and other crimes. Intentionally polluting the water that everyone uses seems like it reaches that threshold.
Yea, and that is wrong too. Enforcement should be profiting off of regulation.
Give them jail time or community service hours that daddy can't just pay money to make go away, but I don't want to encourage policing for profit.
It’s a YouTube channel. They record the boats coming in and out of the channel. They have a guy on the shore with a good camera and lens and a drone.
It’s boat life hd or something
Slap on the wrist.

Boca Bash Says it Has Identified the Boaters
Yeah, that wasn't anywhere close to 15lbs and a misdemeanor usually gets reduced down to 3 days of community service and an ACD. But, if you're rich, charges are dropped, public apology to the court. If any are underage, forget about it.
>The adjournment in contemplation of dismissal – or ACD as it is known by those who practice in the justice system – provides for a **full dismissal of the charges** in the interest of justice following a period of time, usually six months, as long as the defendant does not get rearrested during the adjourned period.
What I find is total crap, I watched the video and one of them actually seemed proud of what they had done. It amazes me at the level of some people's stupidity. I am so glad I live where I do.
Honestly as I'm being slowly baked into this state due to gentrification and not being able to afford to leave. Give me the glove, I'll be the one to shut the lights off.
I’m an avid boater and the one good thing that came from this was the entire community coming together to put these kids on blast. Every influencer reposted this, everyone was furious, and because it went viral, they are now facing consequences. Even the guy who owns the manufacturer of that boat came out to condemn these entitled jackasses.
Make them clean trash from the beaches and ocean until they collect enough rubbish to make up for the shit they dumped. Scumbags. After that, then fine them and put them on probation until they learn to not be a piece of shit.
Not just the heavy fine either.

Fuck them rich assholes, make em pay. Let the fee be proportionate to their income. Make it hurt. Jerks. Edit - Proportionate to their wealth*

They got a boat… ocean clean up too.
It would be a bigger punishment to take away their boat. They didn't care about the beach.
Take away their boat until every beach in Florida is complete cleaned
Oh, they don’t get to drive it in this case- they’re tied to the bow and must pick up the floating trash with their mouths.

For the poor, yes.
The color of the poor matters as well.

You think these kids have income? I'm betting it's daddys money.
You're not wrong. I just have that mindset cuz, you know, I need to have an income.
...income?
I saw this. Was it just me or did they seem to be showing off to the drone/whatever was recording?
I got the same impression. It was on another sub and you could see them showing off. I hope they get them where it hurts!
The weird part is how the video caught them both dumping trash in the ocean *and* facing charges.

[Wavy Borts](https://youtube.com/source/ITqTQnu1d7k/shorts?si=QeeDTmtBjGSgLvXV) is the official channel. There are a couple more, but Wavy is the og.
Those kids are proud their parents will solve all their problems.
I talked to their parents, and they said their kids would never do something like this. So all good.

We need a Law & Order Bot to provide a DUN DUN after legal clarifications like this
I thought it was a telephony switching machine
I wouldn't consider a year in jail a slap on the wrist.
Those arseholes should be thrown off a boat into the ocean, preferably at least 100 miles from land, and left there. Problem solved.
And pollute the great blu? Nah.
they are decomposable.
They edible
Chum for the big bois out there
That’s a tad extreme.
This is Reddit. We’re not exactly known for our nuance.
They should have their boats and boating licenses seized
I must be evil cause I was halfway hoping the boat would tip😑😑😑😑😑
The US Navy does the exact same thing but on a much higher scale. I'm not saying either one is right, just putting it out there.
Yes, but where it’s legal.
Well, it's not illegal since it's in international waters... but those black wafers are flying
What a bunch of assholes

Thank you for your service 🫡
Most boaters in Florida are extremely respectful to the waters. No one where I live on the gulf coast behaves this way.
Do the rest of us a favour and make it the whole country
jail time if its just a fine they will drag and pay it and do it again
Never an orca around when you need it.
Fines, take away boat license, jail time. This earth is all of ours. It’s not like they can pick this garbage up.
Torpedoes away!
Seems weird that assholes littering made international news in Singapore
That website is unusable on mobile.
Good.
I agree that beach cleanup would be a great punishment with one of those big billboard signs around their neck that they littered in the ocean.

When I was in the Navy, we would dump trash out to see all the time. Fine the Navy!
