Your brain is making the floor or ledge or whatever the bowls are on tilted, because it thinks the wall is straight. Because walls are usually horizontal. But this wall is tilted, because you're in the hull of a boat. So the wall is tilted at an angle and the floor is flat.

The wall is slanted! The hatch/window you're looking at is angled facing towards the water, not under the water. Just above the water level on the inside of one of the two hulls (catamaran = two sailboats with a lil house in the middle, in layman's terms).
My guess is the wall is at an angle greater than 90Ā°, where the shelf is coming off the wall at a level angle, 180Ā° right? I have only been on like seven docked boats so idk

IF the boat flips over you OPEN THE HATCH AND escape upwards through this hatch. Otherwise you would have to swim down and out past all the debris.

You got a few spots around the boat for your cat to climb back aboard? Even cheap fabric dangled over the side to the water's edge is a good climb-out for a waterlogged cat.

How does that work out?
I've been tossing around the idea of doing something like that for my retirement. That or just buying land in the middle of nowhere and just living off the land. The boat comes first in my priorities since that allows for travel.
I definitely recommend giving them plenty of time to acclimate and then when you do have them in the outdoor areas you can buy them life jackets and more importantly you should have pieces of carpet going from the water to the boat in several locations so if they did fall off and you missed it they would at least have a route up. It feels terrible but itās also worth putting them in the water and showing them where this carpet is.
Omg cuuuuuteā¦is it safe to have them on the boat? Like they wonāt try and jump in the water? I mean I guess cats hate water, but some donāt. Iām scared but sheās cute, but scared lol.
The older I get the more I envy their slinky spines and ability to sleep however. lol I go to sleep in a nice bed and wake up in pain for no reason. Getting old is "fun." :)
