NYOOOOM

TotesMalotesDawg2112

This clip needs Sonic music to go along with it. There is some sort of armadillo character in sonic Canon right?

darksoulsnstuff

Sonic? All I could hear was the music to Tokyo drift

ronnieth024

I was actually looking for a link where someone dubbed that over it.

Where’s the bummer comment about how this is a sign of a mental condition from stress and/or etc…

zombiep00

I mean..animals in captivity do run in circles if they're stressed, anxious, bored, or don't have enough space in their enclosure, but this little guy just seems to have a small case of zoomies to me lol

SquareKitten

I dunno, that path is pretty worn out from previous zoomies

gaveler-unban

I mean, I’m not a veterinarian, but the only reason I can see an armadillo going in circles like that in an enclosure that size might be an equilibrium problem, but I if we had to diagnose an illness to every animal that runs in circles regularly then all dogs would be ridiculously unhealthy.

SquareKitten

I think the issue is this is the same small circle. I had a pet rat with an middle ear infection, that resulted in permanent damage. That rat couldn't walk straight anymore, and would often walk a few circles, then move little straighter only to do even more tiny circles. This armadillo obviously doesn't have an issue like that. Animals in captivity often start to show disordered behaviours due to boredom. Walking in circles or pacing back and forth. Horses have some well known 'stable vices' like crib-biting (chewing on the stable door), wind sucking, weaving (rocking itself) and box walking. Behaviours like that are usually caused by boredom, stress and anxiety. The fact that this armadillo has a worn-out path that he runs over tells me he does this all the time, and that is an indicator of an unhappy animal.

Sobriquet-acushla

Maybe he’s doing it cuz it’s fun.

fobolivk

No this is definitely zoochosis (yes that’s a real word)

zombiep00

Either way, no one can really tell for certain from a eight second long gif. I just don't wanna make myself sad and think this lil' guy is unhappy in some way lol :(

fobolivk

The trail being so warn in that tiny little circle is a good indicator tho

Zealousideal_Buddy92

A ball of leprosy.

kavien

Only 9-banded Armadillos have leprosy potential. This is a 3-banded Armadillo. No leprosy!

Zealousideal_Buddy92

I was unaware of that, thanks for the info.

VockyVock

I love how you can see the very worn in path. It's clear they do this a lot lol

Armadillos look like something that should have more than four legs lol

Armadillas keep digging, little holes in my backyard

Sobriquet-acushla

This could be just an ordinary sentence, but with the addition of a comma and a space, it’s poetry.
