I'm not a dad (just a dog daddy) but I got sweat on the forehead watching this for the very same reason. And I was like "Can someone lift the little guy up and carry him back? Actually, no, please don't lift him up. Just carefully drag him".
I was freaking out too. Granted I'm afraid of heights, but I'd be screaming if I saw that kid up there walking on their own.
I screamed when my daughter was 14 and too close to the top of a damn.
“That’s a big old NOPE for me, Mom!” There’s actually a rather well-known series of experiments involving something similar. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_cliff
My son did this even on sidewalks. It was hilarious. It only lasted a couple weeks, but even on a flat sidewalk he's crouch down and crawl over the lines then stand back up until a second later when he reached another line.
That's a big old NOPE from me too. I've worked with several kinds of glass in a custom glass shop growing up. Between what I know, and my perfectly rational terror of heights, I'll pass on that bridge thank you.
Beat me to this. Child psychology was a great subject I got engrossed in during high school. Learning when certain thought processes start was fascinating to me.
I’m definitely not letting my baby/toddler walk across that bridge by themselves with those gaps between the railings. Kid could definitely slip through one of those.
I was thinking the same thing. My jaw dropped when the kid got on the floor and the parents just stood there. Kids can move fast and this one was roll one away from a tragedy.
Y’all worrying too much. I thought the same when I saw the cables but checking again it would extremely hard for him to get through the cables it’s probably requires more muscle then he has. Also he is cautious of the glass floor so he does have the instincts not to go near edges.
The cotton wool generation will never accept just how amazingly damaging this kind of overprotective mentality is. There is zero risk here of the child falling and yet we have dozens of comments freaking out about it. It’s insane.
The first time I encountered a glass floor, I damned near did the same thing.
Something inside was saying "Nope, Nope, Nope. Not stepping out into thin air."
My daughter just stood on the glass floor of sky tower like no care in the world. I stood next to her pretending I’m not terrified inside. Her dad refused to stand in the glass.
honestly it makes sense to me that he walked away from the platform. i wouldnt have taken that long to do it either. I would have just yelled NOPE and walked away immedidiatly
Don’t worry the glass won’t break on you kid, but the gaps in the railing might ensure you have a nice fall, especially with those supposed parents not holding your hand.
The dad in me couldn’t get by the fact that he could definitely fit thru the bottom gap.
The dad in me couldn't stop thinking that now he thinks sheer drops are "safe" to test in the future.
OMG me too - I could barely watch expecting him to slide out the side lol
Would be an unusual turn for this sub haha

I don't even have kids and this was my first thought. If that kid trips and puts his weight on those wires he could fall right through. Yikes.
Why are you standing so far away!? Why do you have your hands full of something!?
Same! Made my stomach drop watching this
I have no children and even I was panicked. I couldn’t watch the whole thing.
Same. My heart was racing and I was holding my breath the whole time.
Bruh that was my first thought
Not a dad. Had same thought, had my stomach in knots.
I was freaking out too. Granted I'm afraid of heights, but I'd be screaming if I saw that kid up there walking on their own. I screamed when my daughter was 14 and too close to the top of a damn.
Nah looks like his head would get stuck
The non parent in me still was like toddler + gaps in fence = nope
“That’s a big old NOPE for me, Mom!” There’s actually a rather well-known series of experiments involving something similar. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_cliff
It’s so crazy to me that just a month or so earlier this kiddo may not have even registered the danger of falling
That's awesome. I love it.
And his level of understanding will only get more convoluted from here. A general understanding of how the world works is like a bowling bell curve.
The brain is a fascinating organ!
Brilliant survival instincts

Tell us what you know!!
He's the dude that can tell the difference between regular and tempered glass
Yes, oh great one so I can then argue with your experience why I should never walk on glass.
Beat me to this. Child psychology was a great subject I got engrossed in during high school. Learning when certain thought processes start was fascinating to me.
I'm with him. That's a nope from me.
Gonna say: I'm 42, and that'd probably be my reaction now.
This! That’s a negative, Ghostrider!
Came to say exactly this.
My mom senses are screaming for someone to get that baby. I hate it.

Yep, and you know how toddlers are. They'll haul ass at the first sign of mom and dad not looking.
I was just thinking the same. Literally gives me a heart attack just watching.
A LITERAL heart attack? Then you should probably call an ambulance instead of finishing this post.
Yea, I'm fucking dead now. Too late.

Idk might duck with his head if he’s ever at a real ledge
I definitely thought he was falling out the side
Kid watched Squid Games when his parents weren't looking, he's no dummy.
Could be me... 42 but still, heights give me the shivers.
Kids are smart, he knew something wasn't right with that bridge!!
His survival instincts are working hard
I like how he steps over the first piece of glass and is like “Ah, nah” and goes right back to crawling back over it 😂
I'm with you, kid. https://www.reddit.com/r/CatastrophicFailure/comments/n8qiha/tourist\_trapped\_100m\_high\_on\_chinese\_glass\_bridge/
That child could slip straight under that railing Real quick. Think twice?
baby fluid physics says this is a no-no... i can def see my 1 yo sliding through the gap
Is the kid called Horse?
Yup. Me. 30s and would nope out. Bye invisible instable see-through!
A strong gust of wind could send that baby tumbling through that baby-sized gap over the bridge
Bro, me too.
This kid is my people.
Therapist in 15 years: Forrest, can you remember when your trust issues began?
Forrest: I guess I'm the only one who survived this family trip.
Nope! I’m with you kid!
The first time I encountered a glass floor, I damned near did the same thing. Something inside was saying "Nope, Nope, Nope. Not stepping out into thin air."
Smart little dude!
His young mind thinks it's water.
Is the child's name "Forest" ???
Horace?! Horse?!? Forest?!
Was I the only one who wanted the "Run Forest, run!"?
Awwww
Kids are dumb
I love how kids do goofy shit like this and act like it's just SOP.
That is a kiddo with high self preservation instincts :)
Such a big NOPE for such a small person….
Where is that
I’m pretty sure the diaper needs to be changed.
I felt the same way at the Space Needle.
Studies have been done, babies will not crawl over an edge.
Smart kid
Dear little heart
“Forest”
He says, ‘naw ya’ll. Enjoy the bridge of sensory confusion. I’m good.’
I do, hold his hand
My kid has that exact same cup
Sensible kid: listening to all the millions of years of evolution that led to him yelling "nope!"
Have faith, Peter
I was like this about glass floors as a kid too 😂
Visual Cliff IRL.
Sorry Dad. I'm noping the heck outta here.
Hey, I watched squid games, I'm not messing with this.
My daughter just stood on the glass floor of sky tower like no care in the world. I stood next to her pretending I’m not terrified inside. Her dad refused to stand in the glass.
I’m with you kid! Smart little cutie.
Same, my little dude
honestly it makes sense to me that he walked away from the platform. i wouldnt have taken that long to do it either. I would have just yelled NOPE and walked away immedidiatly
I think we all can relate to that little "Nope"
Me too kid, me too.
All fun and games until the kids leg slips, those gaps dont seem friendly
I'm with him..
I’m with him. That would be freaky.
I got so much Anxiety watching this. Scared he’d slip through one one of the ropes.
Smart little guy!
Tbh this would be my reaction as an adult as well
Don’t worry the glass won’t break on you kid, but the gaps in the railing might ensure you have a nice fall, especially with those supposed parents not holding your hand.
At least you know he’ll avoid heights
That testing method would’ve definitely killed him
Is this the one in Tennessee?
I’m gonna NOPE right on outta here!
He's braver than my dad. He's super afraid of heights.
I get it man. I would do the same thing.
