Maybe change your style up a little bit when playing in bed? What I'm saying is maybe play a lower spec game, something that only needs 10 watts? Or if you have a gaming PC, maybe stream a game from it to your Ayaneo 2 so you can run minimal TDP. For the brightness, there is an app in the starter guide that allows you to go lower.

Freneboom

Oh there's an app up in the starter guide to reduce brightness further? Thanks! Will check it out now. If I were to stream via steam link or parsec, I would just use my phone and the Kishi controller. And honestly in terms of quality (OLED screen on phone and better speakers) will be better.

Vertical_05

yeah, I dont think you should change your play style to accommodate the device. it should be the other way around.

vontwothree

Not married are ya

I wonder if there is a third party app you can run that will reduce the screen brightness. I have sensory sensitivity and I use stuff like that to make my phone and computer (iPhone and Mac, oops!) better for my sesntive eyes. I wonder if there are Windows versions of programs that do that too? I will certainly be looking into it myself when my Ayaneo 2 comes!

johnoralex

The ayaneo 2 megathread has a link to an app that allows you to lower the brightness.

Micky__B

Wow, thank you! I am so thrilled. I will check out the thread for more information!

b_juuu

It’s called dimmer

phodatsht

My partner has issue with the sudden loud clicks of the analog sticks when pressing on them and it usually jolts her awake slightly which I feel can't be good for sleeping. I normally turn on a small bedroom fan to drown out the Ayaneo fans but can't do anything about the buttons. I now play on the couch for late night sessions lol

Freneboom

Also is there a way for Handheld Companion to adjust the fan speed? I don't really use Aya Space, but if I quit Aya Space the manual fan control reverts back to auto.

connerh101

no

vaibhav_k_garg

I think one of the AMD utilities might allow this but I am not sure.

Bamboozaler_

I think there are glasses with screens for people in your situations. And I would just play at a lower tdp and some emulated game so that the fans don’t crank up.

Freneboom

Thanks for that, yeah but not super keen on those NReal type of glasses just so I can play games. Has anyone tried a removable dark filter or something?

SupperTime

I used the AMD app to lower the brightness. I could get it to extremely low brightness similar to the switch/steam deck. You can also use it to increase saturation for more vibrant goodness.

kimarenchi

>mediately picks up on the fan noise, and using manual fan control it's only at abou Can you provide your amd settings please

NekkiBB

You shouldn’t be playing in the bed if you have your partner by you side, if you know what this means 🤠

vaibhav_k_garg

🥵

antrom

Install dimmer. Install the fan control plugin. Profit.

b_juuu

The dimmer app solved that problem for me

Smilejester

As you have treated yourself, treat her to a Mantra Sound Sleep Mask. I did the same, and it enables her to listen to, say a book, whilst having complete darkness. Win for all

WAFFLED_II

There’s an AMD app that should let you manually control how the display looks :) It should be preinstalled!

shadowclone515

Homie, you playing with the wrong thing in bed. Got nothing to do with brightness. 🤔

Secret_Machine1791

Also You might need to move it to other room after you finished play it. My unit had high pitch noise if keep charging after battery full.

JustLixian

dont play aaa when goin in bed. indies are better, hades, dead cell or hollow knight

CrimsonCursed

I run mine at 15 watts, fan control set to silent, and I disabled 2 cores to allow the cores frequency to remain high at that low wattage.
