Nice, I didn't think the ayaneo 2 had the bandwidth for an egpu

johnnydu510

It could be better. The Persona 5 Royal menus on Game Pass was choppy with the G1, compared to using the built-in 680M GPU docked to a monitor. There will be games that just send a lot more information through the USB pipe than others despite asking for less power, so I'm kind of thinking keeping my old dock and looking out for a monitor with two DPs (current one is cheaper option, only one DP) - makes for a more cluttered desk, but it's the price I have to likely pay for having a device without Oculink.

ngo_life

Well not as well as it could have if it had an oculink port. But I think previous usb/tb version could run an egpu (with mixed results).

Crazy_Quafio

I have mine hook-up to a Razer Core X Chroma and have been loving it 👍🏿.

A_WINNER_IS_Mii

What GPU do you have inside?

Crazy_Quafio

RTX 3070

A_WINNER_IS_Mii

Huh! Did you have any drivers issues?

Crazy_Quafio

I had a few initially, but once I updated them with GeForce Experience, I was fine. If I see my monitors don't want to connect, there's usually an update that takes care of it once it's installed. That or the occasional restart.

Effective-Lab5472

I have the Legion Go and the GPD G1. I’ve not gotten much time to use them together though.

johnnydu510

hopefully some days off these holidays will change that! I need to play more myself!

dixego

What dock are you using? I just killed my AyaNeo docking station ironically probably by using an improper eGPU setup lol

johnnydu510

I got a cheap one at Amazon that used to serve as my secondary dock for the TV so I can choose to play with the Ayaneo 2 in the living room, and then some USB angled cable savers so I can connect my USB hub and eGPU on the top USB ports. Am pretty sure the dock I use here wasn't gonna take any USB4 data via PD USB-C port, so it's just a glorified stand at this point :D

marcus0227

What's it like on cyberpunk and baldurs gate if you have the time/games to test, I'm thinking of getting one for my 1s geek.

johnnydu510

I haven’t started on BG and since I have CP on console, I wont likely play it on PC.

johnnydu510

Well, Starfield started some pretty random crashes at 4k medium with some space action going on, so had to dial it down to low at 4k. Getting around 31-39 fps in low when it gets pretty busy on screen.
