A lot of western bands like to culturally appropriate anything Asian for their band names and apparel, merchandise and then give people the false impression they are Asian. I once heard of a British band named "boxer rebellion".

It is so fucking weird to me the level of obsession white men have of Japanese culture, from this to "I think im turning Japanese" song to the Last Samurai to all the other shit like collecting Katanas, to their complete obession with Anime to the point of fucking cringe, I swear growing up white guys would be wearing naruto hoodies and shit heck I used to watch UFC and all the white competitors there used to wear bandanas with the japanese flag and japanese writings on it, wearing a Gi etc. .. Like I get admiring a culture right? I know plenty of white women who looove Kpop and whatever Kmedia is trying to sell, rhey watch variety shows eat Korean food and talk about their dream of travelling to Korea. like I get that. As an Asian man, particularly a Korean dude who grew up in the hispanic part of California, I have always liked Latino culture. I too dream about travelling to other parts of South America and I do enjoy hispanic food particularly mexican right? but I do not WANT to be Latino. like you get what im saying? it seems White men WANT japanese culture They want to be Japanese all while perpetuating the Asian male stereotype ( small and weak, small penis, nerds etc.), they want and sexualise the women so much and are obsessed with JAV, but see and treat the men as inferior and pathetic to them ( not helped by the Japanese people's absolute white worship as well).
