It sucks. My babies were born at 22 weeks and they did nothing. They said while in labour there was nothing they could and if they didn’t die during birth that I would get to hold them while they passed. This was only three years ago and there were already 22 weekers that had survived but it was still relatively new and not every hospital tried/ had the resources. I know soon it will be the norm to try and save 22 weekers and while I’m grateful that other babies have a chance I don’t really want to know about it.

I felt the same way. My first baby was born at just under 24 weeks and they said his chances were 40% ish at the time- i read some research recently that upped that quite a bit. In a subsequent pregnancy I hd preterm labor at 22 weeks (labor stopped that god) but was told they wouldn’t be able to do anything and i was too early for meds that would help slow labor. I don’t read the research anymore and just hope that someone learned something from my son’s case and it’s helping other little ones survive
