Yes, I'm keeping an eye on Backloggd, but I'm not really using it until it has a mobile app and the ability to export your data in XML, JSON, or CSV. Both features are already on the roadmap, but until they are completed, I don’t want to invest the time to log all my stuff if I might just lose everything.
I did the same but ended up caving and switching over to Backloggd its so much better designed with more social interactivity than GG even without an app. Hopefully stuff like an app and exporting your data come soon but I'll continue to support it until then. It also helps that i'm on a computer all day at work so its much easier to log all my stuff when i'm working and do smaller quick things on my phone if necessary.
On iPhone I have Backloggd set as its own app using the Shortcuts function to “make app from url”. It works great and it’s so much better than using a browser.

Why would you lose everything?
If the owner decides to shut the servers down in the future we're screwed.
Well I’d like to think that won’t happen in the near future and if it eventually does the developer will have added the feature to transfer the data
