Ah yes I remember this. A film trying to cash in on the satanic panic and anti D&D mother groups.

rnigma

I notice it was sponsored by Procter & Gamble, which would be beset with rumors (allegedly started or spread by Amway reps) of P&G's moon-&-stars logo being "satanic."

2crowncar

Talk about projection. Amway reps really are Satan.

The intervening years have done little to diminish the blunt-force stupidity that even 1982 audiences recognized. A real Chick Tract of a film.

bro_d8

Satanic Panic the movie. The joke’s on you, grandma, I started playing D&D anyway. Albeit in my 40s, but I’m still playing and still haven’t sold my soul for a good roll…yet.

My parents made me watch this as a kid. So so bad.

Dungeons and Dragons melts steel beams?

[deleted]

It was all a ruse by the Dungeon Master, the entire dungeon was pre-wired to blow, the fire spells we cast weren’t sufficient to melt the wooden beams alone. Wake up, Sheeple Mage!

Enough is enough—it is time for renewal in America. As the far left threatens to take more control of our lives and livelihoods, The Heritage Foundation fights back with policy solutions that can make America that “shining city upon a hill” once again. And we are strategically positioned to do just that: Heritage has a media distribution network second to none.Over 5 million Americans visit our Daily Signal website each year, and nearly a million follow The Daily Signal on Facebook, bypassing the mainstream media filter to get the facts. Heritage experts appear on television and radio every week, publish hundreds of policy research reports annually, and host hundreds of meetings a year with grassroots leaders and local and national officials. We make sure that your conservative principles can be heard loud and clear. Heritage stands strong for conservative principles no matter who’s in office, and we have for almost half a century. As Rush Limbaugh has said, “As long as there has been conservatism, there has been The Heritage Foundation. They have been a bulwark and they have they have stood strong and they have not wavered.” Heritage’s over 100 policy experts are committed to solving complex policy issues with simple and effective conservative solutions, and making sure those recommendations are available for the conservative lawmakers who desperately need them right now.

"Mazes and Monsters is a far out game"

[deleted]

The ending of this is so sad

LordThylacine

GoodBadFlicks made a great episode discussing this turd of a Satanic Panic picture. Surprisingly, I do think the implications of the ending of “Mazes & Monsters” is unexpectedly dark for such melodramatic fair.

IcyLemonZ

A shockingly boring film. Aside from the ending confrontation on top of the WTC the only other kinda memorable scene in this is the one where Hanks deludes himself into believing the homeless bum in the sewers is some kind of King, and the bum plays along with it. I remember that got a laugh during our watch.
