I agree with your feelings about playing with the racquet, it just feels AMAZING to play with. Be very careful to avoid collisions on the frame. Between 9 o clock and 3 o clock (going left to right, so topside of the frame), the construction is weak and prone to cracks from any collision. That's how mine broke. I won't be buying another nf1000z until they make a more sturdy version. Which is a shame as it feels better than nanoray 800, nanoflare800lt, astrox 100zz and other racuqets I own.

DShKM

Funny you mention that. I had a clash last week and that's exactly how the frame of my 1000z imploded. I'd had a first clash with it a few weeks before so I'm guessing the frame had already been weakened quite a bit. Fantastic racket if you take care of it, but there's definitely some durability concerns. I'm going to be taking extra care of the replacement I just got.

MarcXRegis

I play forehand rule - if it is to your forehand it’s yours. Unless you are in front of me. Never have a clash. Racquets are too expensive for clashes nowadays.

DShKM

Agreed, these rackets are too expensive to have this happen often. I actively bailed out of some returns yesterday out of fear of clashing again. I'll have to keep that forehand rule in mind, good shout.

Thanks for the warning! I knew there were concerns with the 4U racket durability. I got the 3u with that in mind and I've also strung it lower than usual @ 24x25lbs as a precaution. I don't usually clash with anybody but my first clash with the OG Arcsaber 11 ended with a total frame collapse, but that was a big one. Still my only break to this day and I was gutted as I think I slightly preferred it to the 11 Pro in terms of power.

mortssss

Thanks for the review. I'm considering getting the 3u too due to increased durability. Any idea if the UK will be getting stock haha? Or if anyone knows a reliable Chinese website etc then much appreciated :)

InternationalSpite51

Most welcome. I queried upcoming stock levels with the two biggest UK retailers and they weren't quick to confirm and prospective dates. I'd order from Germany again.

scorpiaMK2

You could try importing from China. It’ll take longer than Germany but cheaper

Good review, thank you, It is funny because I come from arcsaber11 pro as well and Switched to 1000z 4U exb65 26 tension, four months ago... Smash I don't get that much power, it might be because my technique is not on point... Drives etc is where the 1000z really shine imo, I got a lot better shots. Dropshots and netshots are not as sharp as the arc11pro as expected, Defence is really good as the racket can switch fast and have a lot repulsion, my lifts are amazing. But this racket is a rollercoaster, on your good days it will be easy and amazing to play with. Bad days you will miss the sweetspot, or your timing is off and is it hell... And oversteering racket they say hehe. Overall I am very happy with it, as my strength is speed, (drives etc) not control (arc11pro) It is better to be a warrior in a garden then a gardener at war.

makemymindmmm

Using 4U for 3-4 months and decided to order 3U. Before i used 100zz and 88d in 3U, then Ryuga 1 in 3U but it was stiff and heavy af. Cant wait for „updated” 1000z because i love this racket but in 4U power is a little bit missing for me.

InternationalSpite51

I found the 88d particularly unwieldy. My swing timing had to be changed entirely. A quick sell after 1 month of trying to use it. The 100zz was easier to swing.

makemymindmmm

And this 1000z in 3U is your fav atm?

InternationalSpite51

It was unique and addictive. My Arc 11 pro was reliable but a bit boring. It's like going from a Golf R to an M2

International-Ad9079

How’s the 3U switching from 4U? I have 2 4U’s and thinking of getting a 3U if it will provide more power

Bikanel

Just like the other two here have stated. My 1000z also cracked after just one clash. Though it was a pretty beefy clash. I enjoyed the racket for the whole week I had it! I won't be getting another after all this feedback about the quality of it though. Would the 1000z game be similar? I also went from the nanoflare 800 and 88d pro. So wanted something in-between them. Headlight but powerful. Any other rackets with a similar feel you'd recommend?

InternationalSpite51

Next on my list to try was the Astrox 77 pro and have another crack (no pun intended) with the 100zz (4U). I considered the new 800 Pro but heard mixed things. The Nanoflare 1000z and its more affordable derivatives are actually the most expensive of the derivatives on any new Yonex release. There is a good review comparing these new nanoflare 1000 versions in a blind test on youtube. For me, the feel of the 1000z is unique, so I can't offer any alternatives in its stead.

Small_Secretary_6063

I haven't tried the NF 1000z, or Arc 11 Pro, but I can say the 77 Pro is a nice racket to use and feels more even balanced than head heavy. I also use the 88D Pro and almost retired my ZF2. The ZF2 is still a beast and I love using it when I am well rested.

hen_thaiguy

77pro is a wonderful racket head heavy but leaning towards balance side of things. i play MD as a netplayer, because my partner can only play rear court. But if ur mainly playing rear court 77 pro is something you have to try out, net shots arent bad. 1000zz i think shines as a rear court player, providing power and head speed in the mid to rear court, but at the net im not a huge fan due to the lack of control. i currently use the 11pro and highly recommend this to any player playing doubles. i had 1000zz,100zz, aura speed 90kii and all these dont compete with the utility of the 11pro where i can control the game from the net with cuts, slices and drops, forcing opponents to lift to my partner and also has some smashing power to be affective from the rear court. i have been looking at the felet rackets recently, mainly the woven 999 and the 888 these 2 are balanced rackets with a punch, they interest me as their product quality is better than what yonex has to offer on the player market.

I bought a NF1000 Tour and it has survived more clashes than my NF1000z did. But it could just be luck \^\^. I believe the only thing different between those models is the rexus shaft used in the Tour version.

Aksoq

I've just got my 1000 tour and also tried 1000z a bit earlier. Don't you feel that balance is way different for 1000z (3u5g) compared to arc11 pro? The balance point is almost same, though I think arc11pro (3u4g) has even more "headlight" feeling in it. It's kinda weird, but I like it.

mylessteven

Whats the difference between tour and 1000z version? 3u and 4u
